I've always thought that Freddy's looks like the lovechild of 5 Guys and Steak and Shake. The white and red tile decor and food preparation is similar to both. Food: Burgers are good sized, come with a wide choice of toppings. Two patties pressed and crispy on the edges. Yum! Onions can be fresh or grilled. Pickles are long slices not "chips." Fries, thin and crisp similar to Steak and Shake and in a quantity like 5 Guys. Custard is good, the standard toppings are great and can be served as a sundae or a "concrete," blended. We recently tried a Key Lime seasonal flavor. Loved it. Service: all at the counter--order and pick up when number called. I've found service to always be friendly. Good training! Also it's a bit of a hassle to handle trays at the table, but often there are employees about who will take the tray and get it out of your way. Lots of history on Freddy posted about in photos and posters. If you're familiar with Cincinnati, it reminds me of La Rosa's Pizza family photos. At Freddy's you'll see a proud military background. This carries over to sales. If you are active or a vet, ask for the military discount. It's happily applied. As a Yelp regular, I guess we like it here. Yep, it's highly recommended.

The containers for the burgers were generic styrofoam instead of the brand cardboard ones. The biggest disappointment was that they had gone and purchased blah buns somewhere. They weren't the same flavorful and soft buns but dry and not even fluffy ones. I suspect they did a run to a local store to get them. Hopefully they will restock with the correct buns soon.

All four of them that were on duty were very friendly and even helped us with ordering since it was our first time. Having staff like these people just makes for an enjoyable atmosphere. I hope senior leadership sees this post and takes care of these employees who were working Thursday 17 Oct 2019 at about 830pm. They deserve some sort of recognition! Thank you Five Guys team! Great ordering experience tonight. Fast and efficient. The order was accurate as well. The reason…read morefor only 4 stars is because the fries cup wasn't even full, and there were absolutely no extra fries in the bag, as per the usual. To make matters worse, they weren't fully cooked through and a bit raw (warm temp and gooey) in the center. Some were completely translucent in color still. They just weren't up to the usual delicious hot fries we are used to from here. It was a bit busier tonight and one of the soda machines had a sign over it saying the ice was out and to use the other machine. For once, the music wasn't super loud, which made for easier conversation.

Everything was fine initially except my daughter's chicken strip meal, which came out without the chicken. We hit the red button and let them know what was going on. The manager apologized for it, came out to the car in person to apologize and let us know they were making a whole new meal, and when he brought it out it was a five-piece rather than the three-piece she ordered. That's how you jump on a customer service issue. Own it, apologize, fix it. Mistakes happen, and they got it right in a hurry. Beyond that, our food was up to Sonic standards, and the half-price drinks through the apps are always nice. We'll be back next time we come through Dubuque!

Extremely disappointed with this experience. I ordered a chicken bowl for takeout, and the initial…read morescoop of chicken I was given was noticeably tiny. I simply asked if I could have a little bit more. The employee added a very small amount -- nowhere near what anyone would reasonably consider a double portion. When I checked my receipt, I realized I had been charged for DOUBLE chicken. I did not ask for double chicken, I was never told I was being given a double portion, and I certainly did not receive one. If asking for a small amount more because the original portion is inadequate is automatically going to result in an additional charge, that needs to be communicated BEFORE adding it -- not quietly added to the bill afterward. Customers should be given the opportunity to say no before being charged for something they did not order. Charging me for double chicken when I neither requested nor received a double portion is absolutely preposterous. This felt misleading and left an incredibly bad impression. I expect much better transparency and customer service from Chipotle.
