RM Market & Eatery - Ranch burger with macaroni and cheese

Wow! Really, really, really impressed at how delicious this place was. We were road-tripping in…read morethe area and decided to stop in for lunch, and I'm so glad we did! Cleveland is a small town that would be easy for many to miss, but a trip to the area for this restaurant alone is worth it. It seems a fairly popular spot for lunch and also boasts a small local collection of art, the profits of which go to support a local addiction recovery group. Very kind. The restaurant is clearly owned and operated by Christian folks as evidenced by the decorations, but the churchy feeling is very welcoming and not at all proselytizing. Likewise, the service was effusively kind and helpful. They were happy to chat and answer questions about the menu. They greeted each customer with a smile on their face and made appropriate small-talk with regulars. An older gentleman who was clearly hard of hearing was treated with heaps of patience and kindness; he seemed a regular and they said goodbye to him and reassured him they'd be waiting for him when he visited again the following week. It was so sweet and did my heart good. :) The menu has a lot of fancy sandwiches, a few entree salads, and a few entrees like smoked chicken and loaded baked potatoes. Sides are sort of upscale bbq/southern restaurant (grits, greens, potato salad, beans, etc). The prices are appropriate for the portion size and very high quality of the food. I ordered their "Ranch Burger" sans red onion and tomato while both of my parents got the patty melt. I tried their macaroni and cheese for a side; both 'rents got the baked potato salad. Our food was cooked fresh so it took a few minutes to come out; it was more than worth the wait. I will go ahead and get out of the way that the only not gold-star-worthy item was the macaroni and cheese. It wasn't bad, but it seemed like it had been reheated and it was just sort of gloopy and a little oily. I'd get my parents' baked potato salad over that next time; it had fresh-cooked crumbled bacon bits on it and was so smoky and cool. Holy MOLY the sandwiches, yall. The patties were hand-formed on both, steaming hot and cooked perfectly. Nice balance of fattiness too. My burger was an awesome symphony of flavor: slightly sweet, soft pretzel bun, melted sharp cheddar, creamy ranch, and this amazing sweet-and-salty bacon jam that perfectly tied the whole thing together. The copious amount of ranch made it a little hard to eat, but paper towels were readily available and I smashed that dang burger. As delicious as it was, my parents' patty melts may have been even better. Same great burger, add delightfully crispy, thick-cut bacon and this absolutely fabulous cheese dip...WOW. Hard to describe how incredible both sandwiches were, so with that in mind: go TRY THEM yourself. Thanks so much for one of the best meals I've had in a good while!

When we pulled up and got out of the car we could smell such a wonderful aroma of steaks and knew we had made a good choice. We walked in and it did not look like the type of steak house that you would find in larger cities, nice western type decor, neat and tidy, just not very large area. With it being the middle of the week there were not too many other people there. We were seated and were asked for drink orders, nice selection to choose from, as we waited on drinks were able to look over a very nice selection on the menu. Appetizers, salads, steak and seafood, chicken, burgers, and kid's meals options. Our waiter, Michael, was very nice, not hovering over us, not being gone so long as to make us wait for anything, just the right amount of time between stops at our table to provide great service without interrupting our meal, which was excellent. Before leaving we were able to chat a little with Michael and learn a little more about the restaurant. They have a fully trained chef, not just someone who had a few cooking lessons, but one who you could tell knows how to make a great meal for customers. We will be heading back sometime soon to try more of the wonderful food available here. Before we left, we got a nice burger and onion rings for our son who wasn't with us at the time and he said he would head back some time just to get more of the sauce that comes with the onion rings as they were terrific. Definitely a place we will go back to and take friends with us next time.

We've been wanting to try this place for over a year. I ordered the 14oz ribeye med-rare. Steak was cooked a little more medium which was fine but it was tough to cut. We were told the steak knives were new but I'm not sure, so I don't know if the steak was not high quality or the knife just sucked. Flavor on the steak was a bit peppery for my liking but I was still able to eat it. Service was SLOW. It wasn't busy but it took 3 minutes for our server to greet us after she watched us get sat, she was very nice though. Service through dinner was kinda the same. I ran out of water and it sat that way for about 15 minutes. I think the service team were having to do multiple jobs and it may have just been too much for them. We do plan to try this place again for the burgers because they looked good coming out of the kitchen.

It was fairly full on a Tuesday for lunch so we had to sit by the front door. The menu is fairly simple and includes specialty sandwiches, salads and soups, a couple desserts and not much else. For as large as this space is, you would think they would serve more food items. Maybe their kitchen is just very small, not sure. The server indicated many of their sandwiches are steamed. I tried one of their sandwiches, the casa grande without olives, with a side (potato salad) and a homemade banana pudding. Sandwich - this is a pretty good sandwich that is moist due to the steaming and a lot of mustard and mayo. They also forgot to take off the olives though. Potato salad - their version is like a German potato salad with some skin showing and plenty of mustard as the base. The problem was it was too chunky with a chunk of potato the size of my fist. This is just too big to bite. Banana pudding - pretty good but very sweet My colleague's sandwich was decent too, but he also had a problem with some soggy bread. The service was decent as both our soft drinks were refilled promptly. Mondays amd Tuesdays are semi slow and they close at 3; however, other days are much busier with live music mostly on Fridays and occasional Saturdays.
