Ordering…read moreat this location is via kiosk only; apparently, they can't be bothered to operate a cash register. It took 24 minutes to be served a single cheeseburger and fries, apparently to allow them time to grow cold first. The staff were spectacularly apathetic, as though they were staging a slowdown strike. It's not as though they were busy, either. I was one of six tables, two of whom had been served before I arrived. Service this slow and inefficient is truly remarkable. I will say the milkshake was tasty, and because of the well insulated cup, it had not melted by the time I was served my food. That was the only bright spot in this experience. It's a shame when a once very good restaurant chain falls on hard times, but Steak N Shake isn't the first, and surely won't be the last.

When I had placed my order, the lady in charge (owner or manager) had just (verbally) told off a man. I suppose that should have a clue about what we might experience. I chose 2 stars because the ice cream is really good. Everyone loved theirs order. My wife said the soft serve cone was one of the best she's ever had. However, the customer service deserves 0-1 stars. When she handed the cone to my brother in law for my 4-year old nephew, he said," I asked for a cup." She replied," You said cone." Try to imagine a very harsh tone here. After I finished my shake, I went to ask for water. I very gingerly asked if I could have a cup of ice water. She came back and said, ".25." I didn't have any money, so I said, "sorry, let me go see if I can find some." She said," you don't have any money?!." "No, I said. We just had a very larger order. We're sitting over there." She said, "I don't usually give out water for free. Do you know what goes into this cup." At that point, I said, "Sorry, if it's that big of a deal, don't worry about it." I guess I shouldn't have assumed I could get ice water with an order of ice cream. I hope the person finds happiness, or whatever was bothering her that day was just a short-term thing. It would be a shame to create a reputation of rude treatment when the ice cream is so good.

Little known to me was that they are really light on the toppings, especially when it comes to protein. When I saw how much steak they put on my bowl, I asked for some Carne Asada and they were light with that as well. According to chipotle you're supposed to get 4 ounces of meat per bowl. There's no way I even got close to that on either scoop. To make matters worse, when I got to the cashier, it was a whopping $19.25.. I was told that they charge an additional $5.60 for double meat. I wish they would've told me that when I was at the front of the line as there was really nothing I could do at that point. Service to boot wasn't very friendly just skimpy. This will be the last time I come here. P.S. One minute after I posted this review, I got an automatic reply. I kind of wonder if anybody's really monitoring this besides a bot from chipotle
