They have a pleasant atmosphere with fresh flowers on their tables and staff willing and able to assist walking the floor making sure everything is clean and tidy too. Popcorn chicken and waffle fries for my guys and for me a Chicken Caesar cool wrap with "grilled" chicken. Requested crispy chicken modification and was denied, they can not substitute. What?!? How hard an ask is that?! Apparently not allowed. We were given a plastic table tent and sat down indoors. As we sat I got to look around a bit. They have coloring for kids as well as a cute "Sit with the cow" program. Scan the QR code and you get to have the cow sit with you at your table. Fun idea. Our food arrived in a timely manner and boy did we time it right. While eating the line for dining in went out the door. After that wave another Sunami came through, two athletic teams from UMFC arrived. First their baseball team then 10 minutes later their soccer team arrived. Talk about popular. So now for the quality of the food. The p popcorn chicken were really good. No sauce needed. The waffle fries were delicious, crispy in the outside and soft I. The inside. Now for the wrap, not so great. As you will see, where's the chicken?? Looks more like deli meat than real grilled chicken. It was a dry sandwich to boot. Thankfully you get a sauce to go with, ranch for me. I ate the whole thing with the help of the sauce. Lemonade was good. The reason the substitution was not acceptable, it's pre made in a sealed plastic container. Not really sure what the hype is about this place, maybe it's the service from start to finish, maybe it's the atmosphere that makes you feel welcome, or maybe they have a favorite that keeps them coming back. It was quite busy when we arrived around 7:30 pm and despite this the waitstaff were very friendly and were helping each other out. Our primary server (Kallie B.) was covering several tables in our section and had signaled that she was coming to take our order when she accidentally spilled a drink at the next table. She was apologetic to that that group and moved quickly to clean it up but knew that we had been waiting a long while to order, so asked another server to come and take our order. Again, thoughtful. The food was simply not good today. We were a group of 6 adults and 2 children. Most had fries with our meals. They were all very undercooked - as if they were rushed. The bacon on my wife's club sandwich was undercooked. Several of us left large portions of our meals barely touched because they just didn't taste good. I had ordered steak tips. I tried to eat the first two and were so chewy that I had to put them in my napkin. I left the rest on my plate. This leads to an important recommendation. While the staff's teamwork and friendliness was great, the servers would benefit from some training in attention to signs that customers are having issues with their meal. While our server did ask at one point how everything was, she did so hastily and said, "ok? Good." without waiting for an actual response. She didn't seem to notice that I hadn't eaten my $21 steak tips meal - or if she had noticed, didn't bother to ask about it. It felt insincere. It was a nice thought, but my wife disliked the taste and, I must agree, when I sampled it I felt it tasted unsuitable, at least for that purpose. It was Margarita Monday and I would have liked to indulge, but I was driving so I demurred. We both ordered taco salads for our meal. Taco salad is also a Monday special, priced a dollar less than the regular dinner version. Just out of curiosity, after my wife ordered the lunch special with guacamole, I ordered the regular dinner version. Our salads looked about the same, except hers had more ground beef for whatever reason. So my experiment was inconclusive. The taco salad was pretty good, and we brought some home with us for later, so it was a good value these days at around $10 each.
