We discovered a propane smell coming from outside of our home. I called and spoke with Sonia and Marta at the SUBURBAN PROPANE, Miami office. They were excellent in communicating what needed to be done for our safety and the safety of our home. They were able to dispatch Peter S. immediately. Peter was thorough and replaced our regulator that came off of our propane tank. He also took the time to check our entire system out inside our home to ensure our safety. Every step of the way Marta and Sonia took the time to call me back and update when Peter was in route, and that we had been able to securely turned off the valves to the tank. Maria and Sonia also checked that Peter had arrived and that we felt comfortable when the replacement had been completed. We are very pleased with the services of Suburban Propane when it mattered the most. read more

On Christmas day I smelled gas in my home. I called Suburban and within an hour a technician was here. He turned the gas off and secured my house. The next morning another technician, Tony, was here and diagnosed the problems. Both men were professional and thorough. My problems were a bit complicated but Suburban Miami and it's team worked with me to take care of it as quickly and efficiently as possible. They were just terrific from start to finish! I would have given them a one star but they have recently gotten a little better of not letting me run out of gas!! There have been at least 5 occasions where I ran out of gas in the middle of cooking and a couple times while showering‍ needless to say ruined meals and cold showers. They have been better over the past few months but I'm always scared during big dinners that I'll run out so I go out to the tank first to check the gas level before starting to cook. Also the prices are very high, but I'm not sure if other companies are cheaper . read more

I was with an awful company, Amerigas. With Amerigas, the service was horrible. Suburban Gas company helped me get rid of that company. They stepped in and did everything I needed. For me, all workers were professional and accommodating from the office to the installation of the tank. I was impressed. I'm sure something may go wrong (but it will probably not be as awful as Amerigas has become, and my mom was with that company for 20 years), but for now, I'm a happy customer with Surburban Gas. Good value with lousy reliability. I took time off to meet service technician for a designated morning appointment. Waited all morning with no courtesy call to inform me that they were not showing up on time. They did show in the late afternoon after I was gone. I have been a long time customer, but they are likely going to lose me now. read more

Just came home to make dinner after a very long week. After prepping and getting ready to heat the pan...our stove didn't work. Apparently there was a paper bill left outside stating we owe $0.00 and our gas was shut off for a delinquent account. Seriously?!? We don't owe anything? Photo is attached. This is one of the WORST companies I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. Their customer service and employees are atrocious. I purchased a 500 gallon tank and had them bury it. It popped out of the ground 3 times because they didn't secure it properly. They then tried overcharging me and their price per gallon after you go with them doubles. read more

They owe over $500 on the old account, which they forced me to close and open a new one (of course with extra charges) in my own name, rather than simply changing the name on the account with my ex's permission. Customer service reps typed our concerns in the computer, but clearly did nothing helpful: Jeff, April, Ashley, Lana, Genevieve Salesman talked a bunch of nonsense: Roger If there was a way I could review them with a zero, I would. We ordered propane on Monday due to Hurricane Irma, and they didn't show up until Saturday. Every single person we spoke to said we were on some mythical list to get gas. That Thursday, after sending an email to the company using their website, the salesman Roger, asked me to text him with the details of my parent's medical emergencies (dad is diabetic and has refrigerated medications, and also had surgery, plus mom's cancer meds are heat sensitive), because medical situations get priority. When they finally showed up Saturday afternoon, the driver seemed frustrated, and the charge was almost double what was agreed upon. Again, the customer service rep said he would "discuss with his managers." Run as fast as you can from this company. read more

This company is absolutely horrible!!! If I knew any other company - I would immediately switch to them. First they charged me double, and it was stated it would be fixed. Payed the balance of what I regularly owed. Fast forward- they never adjusted the acct, and while I was thinking the balance was 0.00 it still carried the balance ( from their mistake) instead of calling- they just came, jumped my fence and shut off the gas. Called customer service... rep had no previous note or nothing. Hate this company !!!! Since the day we purchased this house, I've had nothing but nightmares with this company!! Agree, this company is the worst. Going to look for a local company that gives good customer service to their customers in South Florida. The company Representative's lie about delivery dates. A month ago they filled the tank up to 70% and told us it was full. Before hurricane Irma, I set up my appointment, knowing I would be out of gas in 5 days in the event my electricity would go out. Then I find out they are servicing Hospitals and institutions, therefore residential are the last, however I see their trucks in my neighborhood. When I spoke to the driver, a block from my house, he said I was not on their schedule, so I went back to calling every day. Have called all week, i'm now out of gas and no Suburbian. This was escalated to a Supervisor, that gives you the same story, "promise they will be there before the end of the day", we are now on day 6 since Irma, and no Suburban at my house. However, I see their trucks are still driving in my neighborhood in South Dade. Sorry Week's Gas company was sold to this national company, that does not resolve and just misleads its customers. Please don't waste your time and look for another company and local. read more

Worst service experience I ever had. I called last week to set an appointment to get a gas stove installed and spoke with Sandra. First they tried to sell me an account with them and when I told them I had a full tank of gas and just needed the stove installed, she said ok and proceeded to quote me prices. $75 for valve inspection and $130 for installation. Once I agreed she made the appointment for today Jan. 2nd between 8am and 5pm. I called in today at 10 to make sure I was on the list and the new phone rep Anthony said that I wasn't on the list for any services. Of course I became skeptical and informed him of the previous conversation at which time he placed me on hold and told me that I could not have services unless I had an account. I told him that it was explained to the previous person I did not need one and just needed the service and he then tried to say I had the wrong place so I read back his information to him. He then placed me on another hold and upon discovering that their people made a mistake he then tried to say I would get no service at all if I did not set up an account today. He then said that services are $130 per hour and not the flat rate Sandra quoted. I told him that it was not fair and that they should own up to the mistakes of their employee at which he had no response and just sat in silence and did not try to offer some type of concession for their mistake. I hung up and I swear I would never in life call them for anything because their customer service is horrendous and they make mistakes and don't own up to them. read more

Prior to Hurricane Irma I received a propane delivery for my 250 gallon generator. On Tuesday, 9/12/17 I called Suburban and spoke to a rep in Syracuse, NY, who explained that the Miami office had no power. I explained that I had less than 30% of fuel and needed a delivery. This continued with me calling Suburban everyday and speaking to someone in Syracuse even on Saturday, 9/16 where they said power was still out. I was now under 2% and still could not get a return call on when a delivery would be made, even begging them that there were elderly people and toddlers in my home. NO RESPONSE...NOTHING. Finally my power was restored late Saturday night on the 16th and Suburban finally showed up on Thursday, 9/21/17. ARE YOU KIDDING ME. I already contacted another company who responded and filled up my tank on Monday 9/18. Where is the generator that Suburban as a utility company should have had as they sure as heck have an ample supply of propane. Suburban was very insensitive to my needs. if they cared about their customer base, someone would have called me back and I would have had a delivery, instead of trying to accomplish this with a rep that was 1,420 miles from Miami who probably has no clue what it is to be without power in the heat of humidity of South Florida. read more
