Here or to go, dark or light, steamed, pickle and pepper on the side...ring a bell. These folks have put together a solid menu that never has to change. This is the BEST sub shop in the state. At least as far as I am concerned. I love this sandwich shop. They do a great job on the food, they are quick and the food is great. If you love subs you have to give them a try, but be prepared to wait because they are always packed. They still have that old days style and the taste is wonderful. This was our first time at this place. It appears to be a locally owned shop located in Midland shopping center which is HUGE! We walked in the entrance and saw immediately that it was counter-order. We reviewed the menu; I saw right away that they have a reuben available so that was my pick; my young bride chose the Cheese Steak (not Philly). I ordered a Sierra Nevada Porter (the availability of beer is a big + for me) and my wife got a fountain drink. The young man who took our order, while not rude by any means, seemed uninterested/distracted. We were handed a small number, which a young girl behind the counter explained would be called out from the kitchen. The chips were pick-your-own, as were the napkins and straws. We found a seat (lots of space) and my young bride attempted to ignore all of the ESPN channels due to her emotional connection to the upcoming Super Bowl L. When the food was ready, I collected it and brought the trays to the table. Cheese Steak - a touch bland, some gristle in the beef. Okay at best. Reuben - good corned beef, but also a little bland. It maybe needs more sauerkraut or stronger sauerkraut. Nothing offensive; it just needs more oomph. Our appraisal is that they're better than any Subway that ever existed, but we're not rushing back over any time soon. read more

Our 1st time going and what a disappointment. My husband ordered a to go order of a Steak and Cheese sub for him and an Italian for me. Well my Italian ended up being a Reuben. Wow! Came here with some locals. Ordered Pastrami Reuben. Nice soft and chewy bun with tasty tangy sauerkraut and thinly sliced pastrami and ooey gooey Swiss cheese. Maybe it was shredded pastrami. It tasted so good I did not slow down enough to look inside. Didn't care, it was that good. Generic seating area, but I'd rather not pay for ambiance for a sandwich. But my favorite dessert will always & forever be the peanut butter cookie with Reese's Pieces. I enjoy going there even more now that they're in a bigger building--lines are still long but without the feeling of being packed like sardines in a can. I've never had a problem with any of the staff, as some reviews have mentioned. Then again, I eat there often enough to have my order down pat.
