Stopped in earlier this week to get a double american. I've been coming to this restaurant for 20 years at least. Since then, this specific sandwich has been the same. They make it quick it taste good and inexpensive. To my surprise, the changes the Classic American sub and not for the better if you ask me. Now it's just ham and bologna and it taste horrible. Also, now it's $6 and some change instead of $5. Problem is you can go to Publix next door, get an American, it's got Roast Beef, Ham, Bologna for $7. Unaware that "breakfast" was over, I ordered an egg and cheese sandwich on a bagel. The gentleman working there (who, by the way, was extremely sweet) told me he was going to check in the back to see if they had bagels. When the manager heard, she yelled at him in front of me and told him breakfast was over. She refused to serve me what I had ordered. I understand that restaurants have a system through which they run, however, she was extremely and unnecessarily rude to her employee and to me. The food is good and the prices are reasonable, however on my sandwich I had asked if I could have honey mustard instead of regular mustard and the woman told me to do so I would be charged $1.50. I have never heard of any business charging at all for such a request, and especially not $1.50 (the soda doesn't even cost that!) read more

I've had more bad experiences than good ones and, honestly, I won't be coming back. When it's full they rush orders, they handle raw meats and cooked meats with the same utensils, they put the wrong toppings on your sub and it's just a mess. It sucks because I know people that swear by Subrageaous. At the end of the day, it's all about personal experiences. The subs are delicious but this place is just dirty. I have seen roaches crawlin up and down the walls and I don't think you are supposed to keep chicken in a cleaning bucket in the fridge. It is a shame that this place is so dirty and the health inspectors closed it because it is so close to my school and it is good. I've been a patron of theirs for years, a few of the employees already know my order once they see me walk in the door. They have some friendly staff members. It is my go to local sub shop. I prefer Subrageous over Subway and Quiznos. The prices range from extremely cheap (i.e., $2.89 subs) to average price (i.e., 9 bucks). The subs are filling and delicious. The selection of vegetables are not the greatest, only lettuce, tomatos, hot peppers, pickles, and onions are complimentary. They charge extra if you want broccoli in your chicken sub. I still highly recommend. read more

Though from the outside the place looks bad it is actually good! You get to see your food being made right in front of you and of course the choices you choose makes your taste buds get excited to eat what you want. My personal favorite is the Philly Cheese steak with vegetables and mayo with regular bread. Tops for 10% discount if you're a FIU student, which can be helpful at times. I have been coming to this place for over 10 years. There was a new cook who decided to give orders to my husband and I. He threw our sub on the table and refused to continue to make it once I told him we would not come back after the way he spoke to us. He called me a b**** all because I wanted my bread toasted. Been coming here for 5 years as a student, even came here after they were shut down for a while because of a roach infestation. Went to buy a sub and was treated with such disrespect by the owner. She was extremely rude and very degrading towards me. I've never seen such unethical business behavior towards customers like what she displayed. She told me a long time customer and student to, "never come here again". So not only did she lose money on the sandwich, she lost a long time customer, her business reputation, and now potential customers who ask me where they should eat around the school. I love SUBRAGEOUS! I worked there for 10 months (Jan2010-Oct2010). The pace is quick and unforgiving, but the crew is some of the best people I've ever known. Behind the scenes, things get hectic, with as many as 15 customers waiting in line during the busiest hours, but the quiet hours are the best to come in for a bite. You really get to chit chat with the employees when it's just you and them in the shop, making it nice when you become a regular. ;) The quality of the food I prepared was superb. All the ingredients are grown by local produce growers, the bread is BAKED FRESH EVERY DAY(I was so happy when I found out XD)and the meats are treated like they were newborn children:clean, tenderly handled and wrapped, and stowed in air tight containers. The team is really great once you get the flow of work, and there's really a lot of fun behind the counter. The food is ahhhh-mazing, and even if it can be a little pricy(some sides can be up to $1 for extra stuff, and the chicken and steak subs range from $7 to $8 or $9)sometimes, the $2.98 subs are aaaalways a bargain.
