Subrageous is that local sub shop that you just can't stop going to. It's a mix of a little pricy and really cheap. You have subs that can cost you upwards of 8-9 bucks or you can go crazy on the value menu and get a meatball sub for $2.89. Pay attention right now because you might get yelled at if you're a newby and don't order correctly. Order on the left and pick a sub, then tell them what type of bread and if you want sauce or not. After they grill up your order (for hot subs) they'll ask you for condiments and veggies. When you're done ordering, head to the register and pay over there. If you have an FIU ID, you get a 10% discount but ONLY if you tell them before they ring you up. Once you start going, you'll get the hang of it. You won't just go here once. The food is very good, and fresh. The broccoli steak or chicken is my favorite but i've never heard of anyone getting a bad sub over there. The portions are filling also. You won't just get a major bite of bread. Make sure you speak up though! They work fast. The owner and workers mostly speak Spanish, but don't let that discourage you if you're a gringo like me. I come from South Jersey where a 45 minute drive you can pick up a cheesesteak (WIZ WID) from Philly. So I am biased. The bread was ok and felt almost stale. It was just not that good overall. I've had the burger sub, italian, and chicken cheese. Nothing else to really say about this place. Plus you get more out of your money when you come to this place rather than going to Subway, or anything that's on campus. My favorite menu item here is definitely their burger subs: Bomb Burger, BBQ Burger, Bacon Burger, just try them all. It's not a clean eat, you really have to unwrap your sub and eat it with your hands. But you'll be rewarded with the juicy oils & flavors dripping down your mouth and just the big taste of burger. Another great thing about Subgrageous is their bread. Honestly, their bread is soft and it stays that way. They also have quick service and FIU students get 10% off. I had their honey mustard chicken, like everyone here recommended, but I didn't find that all great. The chicken was too underseasoned and they mushed the chicken meat up for me. Being a patron for over 20 years, I have banned this place! Don't know who is training the employees on making a hot sub, but it's become poorly consistent! The last 5-7 times I had visited this location, I instructed exactly how I wanted the hot chicken sub to my likings. Ordered a chicken parm sub, wings, and a cheesesteak parm. Only complaint I have is the marinara sauce has ZERO flavor. Just tasted like I was eating chicken and bread. I used to love this place until today! The door publicizes a 10pm closing time but I got here at 9:37 and the guy literally told me they're closed and did not want to open the door! I've been a customer since I was a kid to the point that people that have worked here used to know me and wouldn't ask me for my order anymore they'll just make my usual. Subrageous is down the street from my house so I've been here a few times with the boyfriend. I go for the honey mustard chicken sub on wheat bread - YUM. I keep it simple and just order my sub with mushrooms, lettuce & provolone cheese. However, there's an assortment of other condiments/veggies that can adorn your sandwich. For the most part, you can only get 12 inch subs (even though my boyfriend says that 6 inch subs are available for a dollar less than the 12 inch ones - I'll have to look into this). In any case, the 12 inch subs are a bit too pricey for my taste, but I feel that most shops that serve hot subs usually charge around the same price. They do have some specials on cold subs that are pretty reasonable. One thing that they can improve on is the way they organize their line to order subs. Most of the time when you walk in, it's just a mess of people with no real indication as to where the line starts or ends. Other than that, I like the fact that I'm seeing my food being prepared in front of me with fresh ingredients. Also, if you're an FIU student you get 10% off your order, which is awesome. The service at this location is shitty. The workers act like they don't want to be there and it is starting to reflect in the food. I ordered my food today and asked for no tomatoes. I get home and saw that there were huge tomato slices. Some at the bottom and some at the top. The acid upsets my stomach so I was a bit upset that there were so many tomatoes in my sandwich. I called to let them know and the child who answered the phone was so rude. He didn't let me talk and explain my situation. When I was able to get a word in, I let him know that my order was wrong, he placed me on hold and then, he hung up. I called back several times and NO ONE PICKED UP. This place is amazing. I've been going for years and I've never been disappointed. Their servers are always really nice and really good at their jobs. The subs are in my opinion the best in Miami. They offer a large selection of subs from meatballs, chicken, turkey, steak, Italian, and burger just to name a few. They have several salad selections as well as a large selection in refreshments. I would really recommend this place if you're trying to eat a bit healthier or trying to lose some weight. They offer several types of wraps that well fit into your diet plan. As far as location goes, they're conveniently right next to a smoothly shop and there are several other shops stores in the shopping center to be a one stop shop. Their parking lot is never full and is usually always easy to find good parking. My only real critique about them is that they are pretty pricey. But I think it's worth it. Their subs ARE that good. My husband and I absolutely love the subs here and have been coming to this location for many years now. However, recently the store came under new management and the lady who runs the store now is extremely rude to not only her employees but to the customers as well! I witnessed her belittling one of her employers right in front of my face! I was so embarrassed for the poor young kid just trying to work, it seems like they can do no right in her eyes. She has also upped almost all the prices and changed the menu as well. I wish someone can take her position running the show because she truly has no customer service skills at all. I am giving this place a 1 star review not because of the quality of the subs, but because of the quality of service. I am an FIU student and I used to go here sometimes after class for a hot sub because they gave a 10% discount. The subs are alright (Publix, next door has better and higher quality subs) I went into Subrageous this past Wednsday and I brought my puppy, who is a service dog in training, with me. I walked right into subrageous and I was immediately yelled at by the store manager to get out and that they don't allow dogs in the store and that I should know that. I explained to her that it is a service dog in training and it has the full right to be in the store. She kept on yelling at me and I said ok I'll just stand right here next to the door so I can still get the AC and not be in the way of anyone (which i was not because nobody was in there anyways and it was 90 degrees outside). She told me to walk outside and she took my order there while still yelling at me about how I should know that it is illegal to bring a dog into a restaurant. Mind you, my puppy is a nicely groomed and well behaved dog. Anyways, Im standing there getting my order taken in the hot humid air of Miami. I was just starving at this point in time so I did not leave right away. After she took my order which was around $15, I asked her if I can walk to the bathroom to wash my hands and she said that I could NOT do that in a very angry tone and kept rambling on about how I cant have a dog near a restaraunt. I was standing there in disbelief because of how I was treated. I saw her put the ingredients on the stove which is right in front of the window, and I asked her again very politely if I can stand in front of the door inside the store, so I am not outside in the direct heat and she outright denied me.
