I recently had Sublime swap out my front and rear suspension of my 1997 Porsche Targa 993 and the overall experience and customer service was excellent. Ares and I had numerous conversations about the various options available, and we were able to pin down the ideal set up. I ultimately went with OEM Porsche MO33 springs and Koni shocks and I couldn't be happier. The car feels confident yet comfortable at high speeds. The 993 Targa requires special attention when it comes to suspension upgrades since stiff springs and shocks will ultimately damage the glass Targa top. Spent $3000 on servicing my 964 & they delivered my car with dried oil leaks all over my roof. I called to bring this to their attention; they asked for pictures to be texted & never replied or cared. I do not recommend this shop to anyone who cares about their Porsche. Side note, my car was freshly painted at the time so this really irked me. I had to pay my detailer to professionally remove these stains. Nearly a year later, I received a promo email asking me to bring my car back for any services. Because I remember what happened, I emailed them back following up about this incident. Koko (the owner) response was "no one is perfect and people do make mistakes including yourself". Nice reply & customer service. Yup, my mistake was bringing my 964 here. Your mistakes are the oil stains & doing nothing about this. Nothing was offered to rectify this except a weak apology & gaslighting statement. Owner did not care. The whole reason I went here in the first place was bc I read so many positive reviews. Lesson learned. Don't believe everything you read on the internet. Unless you have proof. (which I do below). The best guys, plain and simple. Tough to find true aficionados who actually seem to give a heck... These boys do. My hood was STUCK. After my brother riveted the new housing (and I helped!) and didn't think to check first for adjustment of the top latch - the hood decided to stay shut... Then the battery died! Then I pop started it on second gear from my garage, and my brother encouraged me to just stop by and see if they had any tips... They did! We fought it outside of Sublime for about 15 min in the beating sun! Coco ran over from Hi Tech and joined in the brainstorming- in 5 min they had it open, adjusted the top latch and BOOM! As soon as, he said it I knew my car was under warranty at another Porsche specialist (in Pasadena) so I took it there for them to check since they offer flat bed towing. I never liked the other place in Pasadena as much because their prices were more costly than the dealers and I've sent them direct quotes from dealer. I found this spot on during a search for someone to tackle some work on my 86' 944. I've worked on cars for the past 20 years and have come across all types and I'll say that it's few and far between where you come across a shop that 1. Looks insanely clean and organized 2. Super friendly staff and 3. A shop manager that will take the time to find out your needs. I stopped by to chat with them in person the other day and met Ares the Shop Manager. We had a lovely talk about what I was looking to accomplish and while we both decided they weren't the shop to take on some of the work. My car was salvage I got scammed and no one could fix it and every bodyshop told me give up the car it will be more to fix it and even complicated cuz scammer ruined the car more. But i couldn't give up and couldnt even register the car cuz it was not even close to the standard of dmv. Airbag, backlight, front light, tpms, all the mechanic signals on the car... I almost felt like dying with the car. After suffering one year, I got recommendation from a famous design professor, it can be fixed in sublime, I could finally fixed whole mechanic problems what scammer ruined and could register my car after looking for the place to fix it for one year!!!!! The best mechanic porsche place ever!!! And even I could fix the car way cheaper than any other shop's estimation. (They said it is better to buy new one) my car is totally fine now!! Because i had visited several bodyshops now I can see they are the most reliable and best mechanic place ever in LA. Not only that, I am not good at driving, I smashed my car several times, They fixed it so good even way better price and more perfection with Arroyo auto bodyshop connected to sublime. They fixed the back bumper, broken light and wing & side dented and scratches- Moreover it fixed too perfect like brand new I couldn't believe it by my eyes I am attaching the photo of damage before and after. And there was one more accident, even that one, They fixed the mechanic part of mirror and all other damages even got service of four tire rims (i asked for only one but they did retouch for four tire rims!!) with Arroyo auto i am attaching photo too! The shifter cable on my 987.2 Cayman S snapped on the way home in the evening. I randomly found Sublime Silverlake on Yelp as I was waiting for the tow to arrive. I appreciated that they had plenty of street parking in front of the shop where a flat bed can easily drop a car off after hours The service representative was upfront about the cost and parts needed. After doing my own research I confirmed their recommended service was correct & the quote for the cost of parts was fair. Labor was not cheap here but I felt the quality of labor & service justified the cost. They were able to turn my car around the next day, their work is very high quality (could not tell the interior had been taken apart at all), shift quality dramatically improved from before, and the customer service was professional & communicative. What an amazing Porsche shop. Ares and Koko were fantastic throughout the process and demonstrated the utmost in integrity, honesty and follow through. I took my 1973 Porsche 911 into Sublime with a severe issue. The valve seat in my 1978 SC motor had cracked and fallen into the #6 cylinder and did a lot of damage. The engine was ceased and had to be torn down pretty far to assess the full extent of the damage. Ares provided me with at first two options for repair, the first was to do a top end engine rebuild and some #6 P&C work, which would be the lower cost and quicker turn around time. He also provided a quote and timeline for rebuilding the motor to stock 1978 SC OEM specification. However, I then asked Ares for a quote and timeline to build a hotrod motor, basically a race motor for the street. We worked back and forth on ideas, costs and the timeline. Ultimately Ares came up with what I thought would be an incredible engine, in reality the build turned out far better than I ever could have imagined. The soon to be 3.2 Short Stroke, twinplug, new Mahle P&Cs, Web Cams, Carillo Rods, Titanium Springs, with Rasant ITBs and Motec engine management was to be a dream come true. While every major project can and usually does have its ups and downs (we had COVID related parts delays) Ares would reach out to me proactively and keep me up to date on the progress of the build and what our timeline was looking like. The team at Sublime (Koko, Ares, Nico, Oscar, the whole crew) worked through some tricky challenges pulling everything together and outdid themselves. Ares took the car to Ed Pink for final engine tuning on the Dyno, and the results were outstanding, 292 HP and 270 ft tq at the wheels - incredible. With 15% drivetrain loss that is roughly a motor that has 335 hp at the crank. Again I can't say enough positive things about working on projects large or small with Sublime. I took my longhood 911T to Sublime after the engine started making a "rod knock" sound. Koko and Nico the head mechanic helped me work through my options, and I ended up getting a complete engine rebuild, a conversion from carburetors to computerized fuel injection, including dual-plug heads, Weber-style PMO throttle bodies, Megasquirt ECU, and Clewitt ignition. Horsepower was increased from 130 at the crank to 211 at the wheels. Sublime also installed an updated 915 transmission, sway bars front and rear, upgraded brakes, a racing-style front oil cooler with bumper to match, a 100L fuel tank, and vintage style Pirelli tires. Nico's attention to detail throughout the project was impressive. The result is a completely transformed 911 -- great running and handling -- a delight to drive. I took my car in there to be inspected by these individuals they came back with a $15,000 plus estimate there was nothing wrong with my car they didn't know that my car has just been put in a national automotive magazine and all of the things that they said were wrong with it we're already checked in my car none of those things are wrong this place is the most horrible horrific place you could ever take your car to be even went as far as to do work on my car that they had no authorization to do and it didn't need it the old parts were perfectly good I would never take a car there and I'm telling everyone do not take your car there A positive experience do you realize that this car had been completely gone through by national automotive magazine prior to me bringing it into your shop and everything you said about the car was wrong and that is impossible to determine where there is a compression week without using a compression tester by removing a spark plug everything you did was a lie to get money out of me and you do it to everybody and I'm gonna make sure they all know about it read more
