They carry Aloha Collection bags, which are water resistant and super packable-- with happy colors and designs. The clothing is modern and trendy, but not over the top fast fashion. They have a variety of women's clothing, shoes, accessories, and bags. The quality looks great on the pieces and it's easy to shop. There are a lot of staple items as well. The owner was at the shop when I stopped in and she is super nice, and she shared that they will update items seasonally. Right now, they have a good mix of warm and cold weather items such as sweaters, vests, and a variety of jackets. I picked up a very cute vest that is cotton/canvas on the outside and faux fur on the inside with a removable hood. Very reasonably priced! Excited to stop in and check it out again the next time I pick up grocery. I might do a Safeway pickup and spend my shopping time at Ruby Shade instead of at Safeway!

We got in line and my husband took a picture of our original receipt before we did the return for details on the garments that we purchased. A man in line behind us said something to my husband about why aren't you moving (in the line) and my husband turned around and said I'm taking a a picture and calm down we'll move in a second. The gentleman said oh sorry I didn't know. Well little did we know that a sales associate behind the counter that saw the interaction from a different perspective, thought that we were being rude to the gentleman behind us. So lo and behold we get up to her counter and she cops an attitude from the get go. My husband, who is the nicest person in the world, tries to make conversation with her at which point she turns to us and says I thought you were rude to the gentleman behind you. Mind you the whole time, she is giving us attitude and throwing our garments on the counter. That is when I stepped in and said oh no Liz, you don't get to say that. So here's the reason for my review. As a sales person I get it. You get good and bad customers. By all means Liz, talk to your coworkers after we leave if you think we were that rude to the gentleman behind us. The gentleman and myself and my husband had moved on from the incident, but you decided to make a bigger issue out of it. That is not customer service! That is rude on your end. Your job is to help the customer. Whatever you think of the customer in that setting, you keep it to yourself. Share with your coworkers after we leave. Share with your family when you get home from a long day. But do not tell the customer that they were rude when you did not read the situation correctly! At this point, it will be a very long time before I step back into a Nordstrom rack.

Immediately the staff were following my daughter and I around, but not other customers. When my daughter got in line to try on a dress the staff ignored her for 15 minutes before giving her a dirty look and then snatched the dresses out of her and SHOOK THEM OUT??? They treated my daughter like a criminal, yet all the white girls infront of her in line DID NOT, I repeat DID NOT, receive the same treatment, they were asked how their day was and allowed to carry the dresses themselves. I find this truly disgusting and shameful behavior from the staff and we will NOT be returning. I am very upset that these employees, who are grown women, had to ruin my daughter's graduation shopping by treating her like a CRIMINAL. and I am going to call it was it is which is RACISM. She was the only one in that store treated that way while all the little white girls were waited on hand and foot. Deplorable behavior and very upsetting that people like this are allowed to work in customer service.

I'm not going to lie, I was a little skeptical when I saw that all the store associates were in the teens (I know it's ageist, but I've had a terrible time shopping in trendy teen stores where no one cares about the customer), but was seriously impressed when they went above and beyond my expectations (and my expectations are high -- I work retail too). Katie was the sales associate helping me out. She gave me a fitting and took me back to the dressing room where she gave me a drawer filled with samples of each bra style in my size so I could see which one I liked the best. The bras are super cute, super soft and come in all different colors with different details and finishes. I was just so happy to find something that fit! Be warned, aerie definitely caters to young women (teens) so the bras all look teeny. Katie measured me a size larger than what I usually go for, but no matter, the fit was perfect! I took advantage of the sale and walked out with 3 bras and a drawer's worth of new underwear. As I was checking out, one of the other sales associates who was helping me (and for the life of me, I can't remember her name) heard me talk about what a long drive I made to check out the store, and she told me that because I lived so far away and probably wouldn't be able to take advantage of their promotion that began the next day, she let me go ahead and take a free pair of panties with me. Talk about AWESOME customer service. If you are looking for some cute new underthings and are looking for helpful, friendly and excellent service, please do yourself a favor and check out aerie at Clackamas Town Center. I plan on trekking out there in the future when I need to update my underwear drawer. They are the best!

I should add that I'm a plus-size gal who never has the opportunity to try on cute clothing in small boutiques because they are never size-inclusive. Thankfully, Nikki runs an inclusive and welcoming boutique! Nikki is just the sweetest woman, has a fabulous eye for fashion, and is a wonderful business owner who sincerely loves her customers. The clothing and other products she brings in to her boutique cover a wide variety of styles and prices. I couldn't be happier that she's just a short walk away for when I feel like shopping for something, for when I have a friend visiting who decides she loves the tunic I am always wearing, or when I just want to say hi to a neighborhood friend!
