I have never before left a negative review on restaurant or otherwise, but I had to in this case. I asked for a shake and upon trying it, it tasted like it was rotten/spoiled, so I apologized and approached the employees and kindly asked for it to be replaced with ice cream instead. They said they were still going to charge me for a replacement, even though I had taken only a tiny sip (along with a sip from my GF to make sure I wasn't being crazy). When I told them that the standard is for food to replaced free of charge if it tastes wrong, one of the employees kept gaslighting me, telling me that he had said he "told me it was going to taste bad" --which he never did. Upon walking in the owners greeted my daughter and I with cheery hello's and walked us thru the menu. They offer a wide variety of traditional ice cream flavors interspersed with some really Taste Tantalizing Mash-Up combos to delight the taste buds!! Today we chose a Piña Colada Italian Ice for me and Birthday Cake Ice Cream mix in a fresh-made waffle bowl for my daughter. Now, unlike Dippn Dots these awesome concoctions are made FRESH and When Ordered!! They mix up the ingredients right there in these large metal bowls and then invite you to watch as the Nitrogen magic happens!!! In NO TIME FLAT the foggy mist clears and they scrape the yummy deliciousness which has flash frozen from the sides of the bowl and scoop it into our bowls (or waffle) and viola!! OMG!!!! I stuck with the vegan milk and then was asked to choose which flavors I wanted. They had a multitude of flavor options! From huckleberry to classic vanilla--they have it all! I selected my two favorite flavors, chocolate, and peanut butter. (Note not all flavors are vegan, and you can few their allergen information on their website.) Next, you get to select any add-ins you'd like mixed into the ice cream. I choose a vegan staple, Oreos, but they have a wide selection of toppings. Lastly, my favorite part, they mix the ice cream with nitrogen! Watching them create the ice cream with the nitrogen fog turns getting a frozen treat into an exciting experience. Being lactose intolerant I had high hopes for the ice cream. I was thinking they would use lactose free milk but it was soy milk. Never really tried soy milk based ice cream before but sure, let's try it. That's where the nightmare began. I love green tea so decided to go with that as my flavor. The green tea syrup was.... neon green or highlighter green. It looked like an unnatural green color, no where close to matcha. When one of the workers tried to make the ice cream, it seemed like the soy milk refused to freeze up like normal ice cream. I could see the guy struggling and at the same time try not to laugh at the result. It was pretty funny I have to admit. At the end it looked like a pile of melting boogers. I tried to eat it but honestly the flavor was subpar and it looked so atrocious I had to throw it away after a few bites. Boyfriend had an ok experience as he had birthday cake flavor with regular milk ice cream. I think I traumatized him by having him try mine. I don't think we will be coming here often. read more

I had a 1 star experience, my husband had a 5 star experience--3 stars are given here. Last night we tried this place and I'm still sick. I was so excited to try the lactose-free vegan ice cream option, but now I regret it. Why do they use soy milk? So many better vegan milks out there (coconut or cashew milk being the best for ice cream). Anyway, I knew from the second she started pouring the soy milk into the bowl that this was a mistake. It looked like brown egg whites, definitely the wrong consistency. Looking back I realize the soy milk was probably expired. Maybe no one orders the lactose-free vegan options in Waco or maybe no one knows how to store soy milk or what it looks like when it's expired, maybe all of the above. Buyer beware. When they gave me my milkshake it looked normal, but by the time I got home (10 mins) it started separating. I put the smoothie/shake in my freezer for 30 mins and tried it, I didn't drink much because it was very tangy, so I threw it away. I really regret this purchase. I hope they change their vegan options and I hope they never serve bad milk of any kind to anyone. My husband had an excellent experience, he ordered the custard milkshake with pineapple flavoring and it was delicious and he didn't get sick. As far as the staff goes, they were okay. One of the ice cream makers was sick and I could tell. He tried to secretly sneeze without getting it all over the ice cream which is almost impossible. He shouldn't have been making ice cream, he looked sick (or maybe just very hungover). I felt bad for him, but also grossed out that he was mixing ice cream Anyway, I'm not sure if I'll go back, it's not really worth the trouble of going all the way downtown. Came here with my family at 9:30 pm and was greeted by a smile. Kim, was gracious enough to make one of our orders gluten free for us. Normally, we don't like walking into a place, 30 min. My wife and I took my daughter here after eating at Fuzzy Tacos next door. Such a great place to get ice cream. Staff are extremely friendly and spent the time to walk us through the menu. Decor is great and the inside is clean. Experience is great as well. I ordered the magnetic mint and my wife ordered banana foster. I don't think banana foster is the name but that's what it's meant to taste like. Both tasted amazing!!!! Would rate this some of the best ice cream I've ever had. This place was really neat. I've never been to an ice cream place like this but it was delicious! I picked the Bernoulli brûlée and my boyfriend got the banana cream pie bismuth... these were amazing! You get to pick your base like custard or yogurt and they add all the ingredients and the liquid base in a bowl, then add the nitrogen and everything freezes! It was creamy and delicious. This is a great place, very unique idea, & cool to watch & tastes amazingly fresh because it's made right there and frozen there!

The people giving this place 5 stars are either 1) drinking the Kool Ade, 2) have never had even decent ice cream or froyo, or 3) just wanna seem hip and cool. This crap was on par with the cheapest store brand ice cream at best or in my case, absolutely horrid. My wife got a low fat ice cream with extra vanilla flavoring and pecan mix ins which was edible. Definitely not great, not excellent, just edible. My frozen yogurt with cheesecake flavoring and blueberries was impossible to eat. Sickening, syrupy taste, a nasty curd-like texture with frozen, unsweetened blueberries. An interesting, scientific project concept, but poor execution. I wouldn't go back there if you were paying for it!! read more
