Went here twice a few months back & ordered a chocolate shake with oreos and I asked for extra oreos. The first time I went he made it perfect. The second time I went, which was the next day. He skimped me on the extra oreos and charged me a different price than the previous day. I turned the car around & went back because it just tasted like a regular chocolate shake with no oreos. When I got there & spoke over the speaker he was prompt but rude. He told me to pull up to the window. I stated the problem again, he started being even more rude. He said he did add it. He said the day before he just probably added more than he should have. He kept ranting. I just looked at him, cause he looked a mess treating his customer that way. He gave me the little extra oreos on the side for the inconvenience. Which I didn't put in my shake cause I didn't trust him after he threw a tantrum. I knew better then to let him remake my shake. I've been living in Waco for a short time now and have been on the look out for a place I can get a refreshing drink from without having to cross I-35 to get near Baylor. I had noticed this place in passing a couple times and decided to try it out. In the middle of the day in the middle of the week, it was not busy. There was a steady stream of customers. I take that as a good sign. I ordered something I had never heard of before, the snow angel flavor, and was not disappointed. I was worried it would be overly syrupy, but it wasn't. It was ready much faster than I expected. I sat down for maybe a minute and it was ready. The atmosphere at this time is nice. Good for people watching. Overall, exactly what I was looking for. I wish it could be zero. I have been to cocos four times in the past two weeks and the service has been amazing every time. A female worker even engaged in our British accent with us! But today, was a wholeeeeeeeee different story. We were just five college girls coming to get a little treat and have some fun with our school group but a very rude worker did not respond to our order at the speaker and never said anything. Perhaps it is the fact it is sugar and ice... or that it is hot outside... but I believe it is truly an internal desire to revisit your childhood when you drive by a place like Coco's and see the lines that form in the drive through. You are instantly greeted by a menu that has every flavor you can imagine! This was probably the most stand out menu I have ever seen and it didn't end with just a huge list of flavors, but they have ice cream (in tons of flavors also) that can be added as well as many additional items to snack on. I went with my childhood favorites for flavors of Pina Colada/Watermelon and I must say this flavor combination is still just as fun as it was at 8 years of age! My wife chose to try a flavor we both found intriguing... Horchata. It was very good, and she devoured it without a problem. We chose to take our shaved ice for a drive and went around through the local farmlands as we snacked on our treats. This is my new favorite sno cone place in Waco! They have sno cones, ice cream, sundaes, sodas, love nests (sno cone + vanilla ice cream), and even pickles! There is a small playground for the kids, some benches, and a drive through if you are in a hurry. The prices are reasonable. They may seem a little pricey for a sno cone BUT they have the best shaved ice! It is in itty bitty particles, no chunks! That's why I love this place! They have the smoothest sno cones I've ever tried! Other bonuses: one free refills on sodas, over a dozen Blue Bell ice cream flavors (try Chinese Cinnamon! I am very disappointed in Coco's....We went there Sunday and it was 1151am so we really was craving a snow cone so we decided to wait till they opened at 12. We parked in front of window to stay out of heat. Well they didn't open till 12:10 and the man took our order as a crowd had already gathered behind us. Then we waited another ten minutes for our two snow cones. We have never waited that long . The man didn't even bring us our order he sent the young boy to bring us our order. After seeing all of the awesome reviews about Coco's and being a Waco native, my husband and I decided to stop in for an afternoon treat. We waited at the order menu to be acknowledged for 10 minutes. After the truck in front of us pulled off, we pulled up to place our order. When we get to the window there is a sign that says that "all orders must be placed at the menu sign, not at the window". The girl that was working the window couldn't be bothered initially to even open the window, just waved us on. My husband was confused and his face expressed that, so she opened the window. She told us that they had tried talking to us "5 times", but that we didn't answer. We explained that we had not heard anything and had been waiting for an extended amount of time before we decided to pull up. The manager couldn't be bothered to come and talk to us and instead depended on the girl at the window to resolve the issue. The issue was not resolved. Instead, the window girl just said "my manager says sorry" and shut the window. Needless to say, we will not be visiting their business again. It's one thing to follow a policy, but there are situations in which exceptions should be made. We did not intentionally break their "ordering rule", any individual that's been through a drive thru knows the proper etiquette when placing an order. I feel that they could've handled the situation differently but chose to lose a customer instead. I'm sure they serve excellent sno cones and ice creams but they are lacking in the customer service area. read more
