The last 2 visits I've made, my sandwich has been wrong because the employees are making multiple orders at one time. When I ordered my food, I was the only customer in the line, lots of people came in behind me and instead of making my order and letting me go, they made mine and 3 others, causing my order to be wrong and making me wait longer than I should have. Funny enough, while I was in there, they also made a salad wrong due to the same issue. She specifically asked for no onions, as did I- but received them anyway. I would rather wait longer for my food to be right, rather than employees rush to make multiple orders at once. I will not be returning. read more

I decided to try out this place as it always catches my eye driving past. There's a few locations throughout Columbia so I figured it was a staple of the city. Upon entrance, I was intrigued by the "old school" style of the station. The menu did not seem to have a ton of options but I ended up opting for #19, the Super Special. I was not too impressed at all with the sub as it just did not taste like good quality. The bread was awfully stale and the ingredients although fresh, felt lack luster in portions. The staff was a little slow to help me as they were on the phone as well for a good bit when I walked in. The bathrooms were also pretty short of quality which is a hugely important aspect of a restaurant, especially at opening. All in all, my experience was mid and I feel like there are better places to get a sub in the Columbia area for similar price. read more

LOVE SUBS - HATE service received, ordered a sandwich through online service mistakenly at the Knox Abbott location, when I called owner Chris Kuney answered and I respectively asked what my options would be as far as a credit or refund and he rudely replied that he had my order, made it, which cost him money and then asked me what I thought the refund should be. It's a fucking sandwich. Two pieces of bread, maybe a few slices of meat and some lettuce. I'd say keep the change and the sandwich. MERRY CHRISTMAS CHRIS! We called our order to the Knox Abbott location and I noticed they didn't ask for a charge card payment on the phone. They said it would take ten minutes, so I went right away. When I arrived several couples were at the front placing orders. Much to my surprise, a young man came up and waited on me right away and when I gave my name, the order had already been bagged and rung up. I was very impressed with the quick service. The food was delicious, my only complaint and reason for lower stars is both sandwiches were on white bread. I had ordered wheat for one and honey wheat for the other. The food smelled so good, we ate it anyway. I looked at the receipt and it didn't list bread types on it. It was so good, I will call there again; but I will stress the type of bread and make sure they have it on the order. I highly recommend this for a delicious and quick sandwich!. read more

The restaurant was dirty as well after we order our food the older gentleman who works there was at the cash register blowing the hell out his nose smh!!!! Surprised its taken me this long to write a review of a place I eat at this regularly... Sub Station II is the best sub place in Cayce hands down. The produce always seems super fresh. For example, today my tomato was perfect. I generally get a veggie, but love all of their subs. Lately I've been getting a veggie add the ghost pepper cheese. This sandwich is for people who like hot stuff. Add the hot peppers and you'll sweat for sure. My wife loves the ham & turkey. Sometimes we'll split the sub with all the meats. It is awesome. Their sweet wheat is the best. I like their salads too. Staff is always great. Chris the owner is a real nice guy and a great Caycean. read more

Service is always fast and friendly here and the subs I've had here have all tasted really fresh. Try the roast beef sub all the way with ghost pepper jack cheese if you like spicy foods, and if you're not sure, they'll give you a free taste of the cheese before you choose an order. Seating isn't updated, but has always seemed clean. Even so, I usually take my subs to go. A veggie sub takes 5 pieces of EACH cheese and mine was a TOTAL of 5 pieces (two Provolone and 3 American)and I expect tea made fresh in a tea urn instead of from a pitcher on the counter. This is hand downs the best sub station II in Columbia! The meat is always sliced fresh. The one on two notch used packaged meat (last time there). The one on St. Andrews never gives enough meat, if you want a double meat( I pay 2.50 I want double meat not a kids meal) The one on garners ferry by the VA just went downhill. The one in Hopkins just needs to do better. We drove from the northeast (sandhill area) to this one. It's just that good, the service is awesome! read more

A while back, I came in and asked if this place was hiring. There were two guys behind the counter. When I asked they looked at me as if I was stupid and just looked at eachother. I waited for a response and then they said " You have to be 18 to work here". I didn't ask the age requirement. I am 18 but all I asked is if you were hiring. I went to this substation II today and ordered a plain steak and cheese, no veggies, and fries. They said they no longer serve fries after their fryer broke, so I went with chips. I got back to my office to unwrap my plain steak and cheese and it had onions all in the mix. Had only chips for lunch today thanks to SS II. If you can't make a plain steak and cheese just tell me and I will order something else. I won't be back. read more
