Great affordable option in Rogers park, right off the Morse stop. We got a turkey and a ham sub and were happy with the quality and taste. Bread was soft and seemed fresh. Didn't feel overly greasy, as the food can sometimes be at these types of joints. The fries were hot and crispy - similar to McDonald's fries. The fried mushrooms were also a hit. Cash only!

So yesterday I was craving some good chicken with mild sauce. Called Krispy Krunchy Chicken just to be fooled. So my boyfriend suggested Sub Brothers, which is around the corner from my house and I must say, it was one of the best food experiences of my life. I ordered the eight wings with fries and man oh man, holy crap, I'm in Pavlov mood right now man. Any who, my food was perfect, the chicken was seasoned perfectly and the fries were AMAZING! My boyfriend had the same with a sub as well. His was the corn-beef and roast beef sub, from his delight it was amazing. Delicious he says. This place is truly a treasure. It's owned by two of the sweetest old men ever and it's clean. Note if you want to eat at this place, it is small with only seats for about eight people. For food this good, you get take out, go home put on some Step Brothers or some Breaking Bad and have a blast of a day. Oh by the way, their sauces are YES. YESSSSSSSS MAKE LOVE TO MY PALETTES.

    1/2 Ham, turkey, roast beef.

Decent joint for a sub if you're in the area but not worth traveling any great distance. Good bread, meats and veggies on the sub, but very average tasting. Not enough ingredients between the bread. I was there at noon and the place was empty.

The quality is not at the level of the inimitable Dave's or Hot Chi, but better than fast food (excluding the Spicy McCrispy®, with a Sprite, that's another conversation for another day). I ordered two tenders so I'd have something for the beer at Green Mill next door to wash down. The Tenders were just about to be made fresh, and thus I got them as fresh as they come. While not the most thorough or crispy breading ever, the chicken had a medium light coating of medium crispitude. The breading had some basic seasoning, but what stood out was the chicken, which was tender for white meat (I think), and had some saltiness seemingly from being brined. The staffer working behind the counter was kind and friendly, and for chicken made fresh, it came out in a reasonable timeframe. Final verdict: while not a destination, KKC is perfectly fine for some textbook "good" chicken if one is in the area and needs something to put in one's stomach.

I never thought I would ever eat food from a gas station, but this was the only time I broke down and did. The crispiness of the skin, plus the flavor was on point! Add the biscuits, mashed taters and cole slaw and you had a meal. Fast forward to 2025, and KKC has moved from the gas station to a proper storefront. Located just down the street from The Green Mill and my favorite goat meat taco place (Birrieria Zaragoza). The chicken and biscuits are still just as tasty, they still run out of side at the end of the night, but so glad they are here. Much nicer than trying to find parking in a gas station to get chicken. The Doctor, Queen and I decided to stop in there for a bite to eat after spending several hours at The Green Mill listening to the wonder Chris Foreman on the Hammond organ. I remember when this space was a Mexican restaurant, so it is spacious with plenty of seating. We placed our order and the gentleman working the counter was pleasant. The food came up fast and was hot and delish. The side dishes are a good compliment to the chicken, if they have them. Not surprised as the gas station locations use to routinely run out of sides. Minus some missing sides, I have already been back to get food and will be returning. Be aware that while there is street parking, it can be difficult, especially with concerts at The Riviera or Aragon Brawlroom

You've been up since 6 am sweating and lifting heavy boxes. You just paid your movers an excessive amount of money and got yelled at by a neighbor for blocking the alleyway. It's 1 pm and you're HUNGRY and want a DRINK. This was our experience walking into Taqueria Primo Chukis. We ordered some very well-priced margaritas, my husband got tacos and I got a chicken burrito. YUMMMM. Great portions (my burrito was huge), simple yet flavorful recipes, and great service. The house salsas were great as well and actually quite spicy. After inhaling our food in record time and declaring this our favorite restaurant of our new neighborhood, only one question remained - was it actually that good, or were we just starving from our move? Don't worry, we put that to the test! We came back with a group on a perfectly normal day and had a spread of enchiladas, tacos, burritos, and flan. Somehow, I think it was even better the second time!! My husband now suggests this spot for any and every meal. You will not be disappointed if you are looking for simple yet delicious mexican food.

Me and The Doctor were feeling peckish and I did not want to cook or eat Mexican again (although I loves me some Mexican and can literally eat it every day) so we decided on burgers. I knew Devil Dawgs had opened in the space where the old Reza use to be. We decided to order through Yelp for take out because I was not going out in that crazy wind and cold on that particular day. The Doctor got the 5 Pc Strips w/Fries, and I got the Backyard Slider, Chicago Dog, Bag "O" Fries, and and Espresso shake. The Backyard Slider was good but I made the mistake of doing a double patty when a single was enough based on the size of the burger. Other than that, the burger was quite tasty. The hot dog was of course just as good as the original location and the fries were good. The Doctor said that there were six strips of chicken instead of five, so no complaints on his end. He said the strips were nicely fried and had a good flavor. The only problem with the order was that the delivery person did not follow the directions as I had stated I wanted the food dropped off to me. I was given a delivery time of 45 mins, but the food got here quicker than that, but there was no call, simply a text that I saw 7 mins after the fact. So the delivery person just left the food on the sideway by our front door. Fortunately I got downstairs to get it before someone walked off with it. The food was lukewarm, but a quick trip to the microwave fixed it. Surprisingly the quality of the food was not compromised. I am a big tipper as a rule, but not a fan of pre-tipping when it is a bad experience. The next time I order take out, I will not be leaving a tip, I will provide cash on delivery. I would like to do a dine-in experience to see what they did with the space, based on the reviews and some of the photos I have seen on Yelp. I am very happy to have a location closer to me.
