Stopped by today with my housemate for our first time. We were craving some panadería goodies. I got a solid amount of pastries because they looked too good to say no to. They were delicious. I also splurged and ordered a breakfast burrito because it was like 11am, and I hadn't eaten yet. Super delish. Favorite breakfast burrito I've had thus far in San Marcos. I came in late on Sunday evening needing to buy a tres leches cake for the next day and after having no luck checking 2 other bakeries, thankfully, Su Pan had one of each of their three variations in stock. Between tiramisu, mocha, and vanilla tres leches I wanted to buy them all, but ended up getting vanilla. I refrigerated the cake overnight and brought it to work the next day. My coworkers are picky with their tres leches and I was worried that it wouldn't be milky enough, but when we cut into it, the cake maintained its structure and didn't fall apart, but when you bite into the cake, it was so wonderfully milky and delicious still. My coworkers said the vanilla tasted more like caramel or dulce de leche and it was so tasty. Thank you, Su Pan, for saving me from buying a tres leches from Costco!! So happy with how it tasted and everyone at work loved it. I dream about this cake still after a whole week since eating it. I will definitely be back! read more

Kind of a hidden spot, as these spaces don't have a ton of advertising but they should because the food is bussin. Been on a Cuban torta search and this one took the cake. So good!!!! Definitely recommend, the sauce they use is absolutely delish. The sweet bread is great too, tastes very good and there's a nice variety here even cake pastries as well. The soup was definitely rich and came with a good amount of tender pork in the form of chunks. The hominy was plentiful, and the soup offered a good spice. No additional hot sauce was needed for this one. The soup came with a side of shredded cabbage, sliced radishes, and several crispy tostadas, not to mention the wedge of lime. Really kind employees, great pan dulce and other sweets! I have heard the food is good so I plan on trying that next. They do have seating inside with moveable chairs, and seating outside at cement tables with chairs attached (that do not move). The employees do not speak English which is totally fine because it's a panadería, however the one thing that confused me was that the employee behind the counter also did not understand my girlfriend who is a native Spanish speaker and was born and raised in México. I don't know how to explain it other than we were speaking slowly in English and Spanish and somehow the employee was confused and kept almost giving us the wrong food. I say this all as constructive feedback because I want the business to do well and I think it would help them to put someone at the front counter who does speak a language that some or most of the customers speak. I think maybe the employee spoke another language or spoke an Indigenous language/dialect from a small part of another country, which is totally awesome and beautiful, but made communication between customer and employee a little challenging. This quaint little bakery has your typical Mexican baked goods for sale i.e. Conchas, orejas, telera, pan dulce and some dessert goodies on display such as the all time favorite tres leches which is really packed with flavor. What I was not expecting was the menu with some of my favorite meals and of course I couldn't just leave without knowing what their food would taste like so I ordered the Chilaquiles and holy smokes were they everything I'd ever hoped for and more... word of advice, they don't skimp on the spice so eat at your own risk. Regardless, the bread is good and high quality, a nice full balance of flavors and a nice slightly chewy bread. What makes this place for me are the tortas. The bread is fresh and supple. The carne asada is simple and nicely trimmed. The beans, avocado and mayo give it a savory warmth, while fresh lettuce and spicy jalapeños and onions balance out the flavors. All together, the combination of the ingredients elevates this torta into one of my favorites in all of north county. This was our first time. Heard great things about it, so we decided to finally try it. We waited 1 hour to get our food. It wasn't even busy. After waiting patiently watching others order after us and receiving their food before us, we finally went in to see what the hold up was. The lady who rang us up acted confused and realized they never started our order. We then had to wait again for our food to be prepared, which ended up taking a couple minutes. She gave us our food she didn't say sorry or acknowledged how long we had to wait. Very bad 1st experience with their poor service.
