Schreffler Custom Wood Flooring

Schreffler Custom Wood Flooring

Short version: These guys were very knowledgeable, very helpful, and quick to respond. We had a…read moretough situation and they were up for the challenge. We love the way our hardwood floors look. They are worth the wait (booked 2-3 months out) Long version: We had water damage in our kitchen. We needed the damaged floor replaced and the rest of the first floor sanded and stained to match. No easy task since our floor was 17 years old. After they sanded, stained, and sealed the floor, we realized that the original builder (17 years ago) put a 2 foot by 10 foot strip of pink looking red oak in the middle of the white oak floorboards in the living room. This was imposible to see because of the tinted stain that was put on the floor to cover up the fact that the wood didn't match. Jon, our sales guy, came out on a Saturday to talk it over with us. They worked with us to squeeze us into their schedule despite being booked 3 months out. He even came and tore out the red oak himself since all of the other workers were tied up. They took out the red oak and put new white oak back in and now you can't tell at all. Honestly, I thought we were screwed. We did have to pay for them to come back to do it since it wasn't their screw up.

It looks beautiful, the perfect shade of brown and the satin finish is just what we wanted. The workmen were extremely personable and skilled at what they do. Communication with both them and the company was very good. I would highly recommend them.

Very Disappointed with Mad City Windows - Overpriced and Poor Follow-Through…read more My experience with Mad City has been extremely disappointing, from the sales process to the installation and the attempts to correct the problems afterward. I feel I was lied to by the sales representative, and unfortunately, the problems didn't stop there. After the windows were installed, Mad City had to come back three separate times to address issues with the installation. Each additional visit meant more time spent dealing with problems that should have been handled correctly in the first place. What makes this even more frustrating is that I also feel I was lied to by the repair technician. After all these visits, I expected the issues to finally be resolved, but even after the most recent visit, my window still was not finished the way it should have been. This is particularly disappointing when the technician claims to have 35 years of carpentry experience. With that level of experience, I expected a much better quality of workmanship and attention to detail. When you pay the prices Mad City charges, you expect quality products, professional installation, honest communication, and a finished job that meets reasonable expectations. Instead, I've dealt with repeated problems, what I believe were misleading statements, and work that still isn't right after multiple attempts to fix it. For the price they charge, the quality of the work and the lack of honesty are simply unacceptable. These windows are far too expensive for the experience I've had, and I would have a very difficult time recommending Mad City to anyone based on my experience. Customers deserve honesty, accountability, and quality workmanship, especially when they're making a significant investment in their home. Unfortunately, that is not what I feel I received from Mad City.

This summer we decided to have soffits/fascia and new gutters placed on our 1950's ranch home. We…read morecontacted 5 contractors for bids/quotes. Three firms came to the home to give us a detailed quotation. We decided on Ridge Top Exteriors because they gave a competitive quote and offered no-interest financing. The work was completed in August 2019. The following comments are our observations: Dave H., our company contact, was responsive to our concerns. He was knowledgeable and professional. The gentleman who did the soffits/fascia, Te**i, was fantastic! I would suggest him to anyone to 'bend tin' on their home. Our home had some interesting corners, he completed the work expertly. As for the sub-contractor who installed the gutters (T**y), I would NOT say the same. The gutters were rolled and installed correctly, as well as function (for the most part). Significant gaps were left behind where the roof flashing and the gutter apron overlap (meaning did not overlap). Since they are 'low profile' style gutters, now my discolored roof flashing is visible. I mentioned this unsightly new development to Dave H., who informed me that the roofing company should have installed a new roof flashing with the new roof (meaning there was nothing to be done, except painting). In addition, I have two small rivers, which now run down my roof valleys and over the new gutters during rainstorms. When you hire a company, you pay for their labors and expertise. I would suggest Ridge Top Exteriors to others, however, the gutter sub-contractor, T**y, I would NOT recommend, as it seems they do not possess the expertise. Thank you for reading my review and I hope you found it informative.

We undertook a large remodel project that included a new roof, windows, siding, and gutters than…read moreran from July-November. This two-star rating does not reflect the quality of work performed by the individual sub-contracted companies, which final product was satisfactory after timely repairs. The low rating is due to a significant lack of communication with Ridge Top, and unfinished work. Sub-contracted crews showed up on-site unannounced or changed their work schedule without notice from Ridge Top. We were informed we did not need to be home on days only outdoor projects would be completed, and yet crews were ringing the doorbell asking for instructions about installation that was not provided to them by Ridge Top (window orientation, down spout locations, etc). This interfered with work-from-home meetings. During siding work, the doorbell circuit was closed by poor nail placement causing it to run continuously. This resulted in both the door bell and transformer to become overheated and melt the bell chime cover inside the house. This was replaced by an electrician in a timely manner. Significant work-site debris was left in the yard, and Ridge Top's project managers shared our alarm at the final walk through. Together, we picked up roofing brackets, pail-full of nails we have collected with our own magnet, trimmed pieces of fascia/soffit/siding, and whole shingles. When we signed with Ridge Top we specifically asked, and were assured, that the new window trim would match the existing size, eliminating the need for additional significant drywall and paint repair. After 2 separate measurement appointments before installation, the finished trim installed on 13 windows was significantly smaller. We raised this concern during installation and at multiple walkthroughs, but it was repeatedly ignored. At the final walkthrough, Ridge Top acknowledged the extensive repairs required to both drywall and painting, and offered to provide compensation if we could get a quote from our own painter. Unfortunately, 2 weeks after the quote was shared with Ridge Top and multiple un-returned phone calls, they reversed this decision citing generic contract terms. This situation would not have been an issue had Ridge Top honored their initial assurance of minimal repairs or addressed the problem promptly. Instead, the lack of transparency and follow-through has resulted in unnecessary additional expenses and frustration.
