We received a referral to Tim at Webster Wood Floors from our son and daughter-in-law. My son and his wife are pretty meticulous and their refinished oak floors looked like brand new floors after Tim was done. I called for a proposal on installing new maple floors and matching and refinishing the existing maple floors. Tim was prompt, professional, very communicative, knowledgeable and, most importantly, meticulous in detail and finishing. We had a big project and the work was totally completed in 4 days. Our new wood floors look AMAZING and we could not be happier! In terms of price, we had other bids, Tim was in the middle of the pack but he used high quality installers and had over 20 years of experience so it was an easy decision. Tim did all new floors for our brand new construction on the near west side of Madison. He did a fantastic job and was very communicative and reliable from start to finish, despite poor communication going the other way from our contractor. The floors are 2 1/4 inch red oak throughout to match the 1930s vibe of the whole house and they look fantastic. Tim was really thorough with each coat and all of the touchups and repairs in between. I would give this business a BIG FAT ZERO, but you must rate it. DO NOT CONTACT/USE this business. First of all, they postponed the original start date (should have been an indication). Finally showed up late on the rescheduled date. Did the sanding, refinishing in less than three days which he said would take 4-5 days. Looked great...right? Well, we gave him the finish we used in our kitchen which we wanted matched, he decided to use something else that was "close". We agreed (our mistake). After about three months, discolored spots appeared. We have now contacted him THREE TIMES. He has said he would stop by to check it out...guess what...has NEVER CONTACTED us or returned to look at the problems we are having. The LEAST he could have done was to come out and see the problem we are having. This is a less than acceptable wood flooring business. Look elsewhere. read more
