We undertook a large remodel project that included a new roof, windows, siding, and gutters than ran from July-November. This two-star rating does not reflect the quality of work performed by the individual sub-contracted companies, which final product was satisfactory after timely repairs. The low rating is due to a significant lack of communication with Ridge Top, and unfinished work. Sub-contracted crews showed up on-site unannounced or changed their work schedule without notice from Ridge Top. We were informed we did not need to be home on days only outdoor projects would be completed, and yet crews were ringing the doorbell asking for instructions about installation that was not provided to them by Ridge Top (window orientation, down spout locations, etc). This interfered with work-from-home meetings. During siding work, the doorbell circuit was closed by poor nail placement causing it to run continuously. This resulted in both the door bell and transformer to become overheated and melt the bell chime cover inside the house. This was replaced by an electrician in a timely manner. Significant work-site debris was left in the yard, and Ridge Top's project managers shared our alarm at the final walk through. Together, we picked up roofing brackets, pail-full of nails we have collected with our own magnet, trimmed pieces of fascia/soffit/siding, and whole shingles. When we signed with Ridge Top we specifically asked, and were assured, that the new window trim would match the existing size, eliminating the need for additional significant drywall and paint repair. After 2 separate measurement appointments before installation, the finished trim installed on 13 windows was significantly smaller. We raised this concern during installation and at multiple walkthroughs, but it was repeatedly ignored. At the final walkthrough, Ridge Top acknowledged the extensive repairs required to both drywall and painting, and offered to provide compensation if we could get a quote from our own painter. Unfortunately, 2 weeks after the quote was shared with Ridge Top and multiple un-returned phone calls, they reversed this decision citing generic contract terms. This situation would not have been an issue had Ridge Top honored their initial assurance of minimal repairs or addressed the problem promptly. Instead, the lack of transparency and follow-through has resulted in unnecessary additional expenses and frustration. read more

After fighting for six months with my insurance company to pay for a new roof due to hail damage, I thought the worst was over with. Little did I know..! They not only charged two grand over the price quoted, they filed a lien on the property even though they knew I was in the process of taking out a bank loan to pay for it. This was after they had already received eleven thousand dollars (almost all that was due). Ironically, they're filing of the lien might be the the thing that sinks the loan, as it is a HELOC. Greedy, greedy company. As for the quality of the work, I am pretty sure I didn't get my money's worth. There are items on the invoice that I am certain they didn't do because Jeff, the guy in charge told me they weren't going to do, but he told me he would be billing insurance for anyway. They got it all done within a single day with a bunch of guys who didn't speak English. Their sign will be going in the garbage today. read more

I hired Ridge Top 3 times (5 total jobs) - between mid 2023 and mid 2024. 1st - gutters - went ok but the installers (3rd party) said it was not quoted correctly regarding downspouts and was not sure why gutter guards were not suggested. 2nd - front door - unable to do it due to restraints based on location/landmark status of house (not RidgeTop issue at all). 3rd - back door - went ok after having them out a few times to make adjustments. 4th - replace soffit. Signed contract, paid deposit and then 3 weeks later was told they basically did not want to do this. Lost all trust in them with this conversation. 5th - add screen door. First had to chase them for 2+ weeks to get a quote. After the run around on the soffit I cancelled this project. The people who came out to do work were nice and professional - the production manager Ron was helpful and always willing to assist.. The sales department was horrible and seemed to never be connected to the process. Received an email (might've been a form email) from the owner asking what went wrong and after sending back a detailed response on 7/2, never received any response as of 7/8 - this really showed me how much they care about a job from the top down. I have hired 10-12 companies to remodel my home and have been happy with everyone one except one - Ridge Top Exteriors. Had I known this is how the owner handles issues I might have been a little smarter but still 1005 my fault for hiring them after the 2nd time - I was wrong in expecting it to get better. I would never hire them again and will make sure I inform anyone to stay away at all times. *** Owner responded on Google reviews to say this was an issue with he Landmark Commission in my area and wanted to follow up on here as well - To be clear this is not what was told to me from the sales person or the Landmark commission (who I have been in contact with as recent as yesterday). I can also show the provisional approval I have from the Landmark Commission but you never sent me the needed information to finalize this. The last thing I was told by YOUR salesperson was that he did not have a crew that can do this. After all this back and forth I think what really happened is that your sales department sold something that RidgeTop can't do. The BIG issue really comes down to RidgeTop not being honest with me from the start through the owners communication today. Next time, call your client and talk to them and find out what has been happening prior to just sending an inaccurate response online. Again, the owner comments below do not address the issues and try to put blame on the Landmark Commission when the issue was the communication and honesty from Ridge Top directly. read more

worst I'v seen. had my siding done 2021 did not wrap complete building did not vent building. Some question! Project manager said would do but workers did not. I was also not charged for extra work.But building is breezy in winter can feel the cold on outside walls. Now ceilings are falling. To hot in attic. I have trusted Ridgetop with my home and business project needs for years. Most recently, I hired them to install two new steel doors in my restaurant for both safety and weather-proofing reasons. Our building is 120 years old! They installed the doors in time for us to be open to customers the same day and handled every aspect so I didn't have to worry about a thing. I had a roof and gutters replaced on an older home and am very satisfied with the work and professionalism of Ridge Top Exteriors. They did a thorough review with me before the work and made sure that they understood exactly what I wanted. The work was scheduled and completed in a reasonable amount of time. There was a little bit of collateral damage during the process (punctured screen, broken planter that was hit by debris, etc.) and I was quickly reimbursed to have them corrected. I hired a local crew to do my roof many years ago and went with the lowest bid. There were many problems later, some of which had to be corrected by Ridge Top Exteriors on this project. Roofs are tricky because not everyone is comfortable walking the roof afterwards to inspect the work. I did (this time) and their work is very good. I spotted a couple of little things during my inspection and they sent a team out right away to correct them. I would hire them again. read more

This summer we decided to have soffits/fascia and new gutters placed on our 1950's ranch home. We contacted 5 contractors for bids/quotes. Three firms came to the home to give us a detailed quotation. We decided on Ridge Top Exteriors because they gave a competitive quote and offered no-interest financing. The work was completed in August 2019. The following comments are our observations: Dave H., our company contact, was responsive to our concerns. He was knowledgeable and professional. The gentleman who did the soffits/fascia, Te**i, was fantastic! I would suggest him to anyone to 'bend tin' on their home. Our home had some interesting corners, he completed the work expertly. As for the sub-contractor who installed the gutters (T**y), I would NOT say the same. The gutters were rolled and installed correctly, as well as function (for the most part). Significant gaps were left behind where the roof flashing and the gutter apron overlap (meaning did not overlap). Since they are 'low profile' style gutters, now my discolored roof flashing is visible. I mentioned this unsightly new development to Dave H., who informed me that the roofing company should have installed a new roof flashing with the new roof (meaning there was nothing to be done, except painting). In addition, I have two small rivers, which now run down my roof valleys and over the new gutters during rainstorms. When you hire a company, you pay for their labors and expertise. I would suggest Ridge Top Exteriors to others, however, the gutter sub-contractor, T**y, I would NOT recommend, as it seems they do not possess the expertise. We recently needed to re-do our roof. I got bids from several different companies. Chose Ridge Top because of the professionalism of the sales process (clear choices, no pressure to upgrade, detailed quote, excellent warranty offered), but of course you can never be sure if that professionalism will carry through the entire process. In our case, I can happily report that it did. The project manager kept in close communication as we approached our scheduled installation week because everything depends on the weather. The crew completed the job quickly and used tarps to catch most of the debris and nails. I tried to work from home during the process, which I would not recommend. It's very loud! I had to be there, though, because we have two skylights and they needed to have a crew member inside the house for installation. After the job was completed, they cleaned up thoroughly. Here's where things get interesting. The way you really know you have a good contractor is how they respond when things don't go exactly to plan. Due to the angle of our roof, some of the ridge coverings started to pull away from the surface of the roof. I guess the nails weren't quite long enough. Even though I had already paid in full, when I brought the issue to their attention, they were quick to send someone out to inspect, and that person recommended that the ridge coverings be reinstalled with longer nails. They sent a crew right back out and re-did the problematic ridge coverings. No fuss at all. In addition, a couple of screens had been damaged by falling shingles. I had those re-screened at the hardware store and they reimbursed me for the cost. Obviously, you want a project like this to be perfect, but when it isn't, you want the company to act quickly to make it right. These guys did that, and I would absolutely work with them again. read more

I asked Ridge Top to send someone out to see if we had hail damage. The person looked at our steep roof, looked from a lower ladder and said everything was fine. Our shingles were good for about 10 more years. We reported this to the solar company that will be installing panels on the roof. About a month later we noticed a leak in a closet slanted ceiling that is a roof "wall." Ridge Top gave us an estimate of $500-$800, with a written amount of $1,000, just in case. Upon talking to his own workmen, it was adjusted to $2,300 as an oral agreement. The written estimate arrived at $2,600. A workman had a free day and it was scheduled. He arrived alone and took one look and said it was too close to our neighbors to safely put up a ladder and that he would need a scaffolding, which requires a second worker. I could see his point. The salesman came out and indicated that it might cost more, he didn't know. It was then that I realized that we had never been consulted about the shingles to match what we have. Oh, yes. He then gave us materials to choose from. The new estimate came in with $350 added for the scaffolding. By this time we had had it. We noted that neither the height of the roof or the proximity of our neighbors had changed since the first visit, and we wanted our $200 down payment (on a much earlier version of the contract) to be returned. To their credit, it came in the mail in a week or two. In the mean time, we had another roofer take a look. He gave us a much less expensive estimate on the repair, but said that there was, indeed, hail damage and that he had photos to show it. Did we want to have our insurance company take a look? He returned to consult with the State Farm agent (great company) and that same day we had a check and detailed notes on what needed to be done. It took about 2 weeks for the new contractor, RQ Roofing LLC (Rodriguez Quality Roofing), to send us his estimate (a little under what the insurance company indicated) and get us on his schedule. So we are getting a new roof, garage roof too, covered by our insurance. Work begins in 2 days. And then the solar people can come. I do not recommend Ridge Top Roofing! read more

Ridge Top means well, I'm sure, but I just get the runaround. I needed someone to look at a small garage that should have a ridge vent installed. First appt, last fall: they had to cancel. (I'd stayed home in the morning to meet them.) Later, one person did show up but I wasn't home. This spring, I called again for an appt. I received an appt but the guy called and said he was sick. Could we re-schedule? I said okay, but then today he never even showed and did not call either. I've had it. read more

Ridge Top replaced my roof and shingle in Spring 2011. However, there was overflow of water from the North-West corner when raining. We complained and their employees came a couple of times but could not fix it or found a problem. They did not think that it was a problem and we did not realize potential problems. Still we asked them to sign a note acknowledge the water overflow problem and they signed it. Early this month, we remodeled our bathroom and discovered that the wall near the problematic corner was all web and had to stop the project to fix this problem. At suggestion of some water mitigation company estimators, we called the Roof Top to come fix the problem. They did but refused to pay for any inside damage. Two persons came last Thursday and went to top and saw dirty gutters so they cleaned the gutter and told me that that was the problem. On Sunday, there was rain so they called me and came back again on Monday to check whether it was still leaking. It was, and they fixed the problem. The manager Steve told me that the roof was a problem and they fixed, but they were not responsible to the inside damage because I did not call them the first time we noticed leaking about 3 years. That was clearly a blame the victim strategy. About three years ago, we did notice some web spot at the corner of the first flood (not 2nd floor). When we discovered it, it was already dry. Consulting with some friends, we thought it might be bath room leaking. Recently we saw another one so we decided to fix the bathtub and bathroom, and thought that Bathtub was the problem. It turned out not the bathtub problem but a roof problem. The bathtub floor and the other side wall of the bathtub were both dry. I disagreed with him and he said that he will talk with the owner. Today the owner Larry called me that the dirty gutter was the only problem and it was not their problem. It was really dishonest to say that. read more
