*THEBCO blocked my review on Google Reviews so here I am with my two cents:
I wish I could say I was thrilled with our new door replacement, but it was underwhelming and overall very disappointing in both the workmanship and customer service. I had heard good things about THEBCO and decided to go with them for a new entry door with sidelights. I scheduled a consultation with Dave which had gone smooth from the paperwork to the door being delivered. However, the sub-contractors (Rick and Alex) hired did an absolutely terrible job to say the least. It was estimated the door would be installed within 4 hours, it took a little over 6 hours which I had no problem with. It was a big project so I assumed they just needed the extra time to ensure the project was done well. However, during my inspection of the completed door, I could tell the installation was rushed and very little thought was placed on the details in making the end product look polished and clean.
The caulking around the door was sloppy and remnants of it smeared on the sidelight windows. The trimming around the interior of the door was not cut to size. There were a couple dings and dents found throughout the door. The hinges were not calibrated correctly for the door to shut tight. They had accidentally scraped a bit of paint off the door during the course of moving it and told me they used the paint sample given to them to cover the area. They did not consult with me about placement of our doorbells, so they were completely misplaced and not aligned at all. Additionally, Rick had the audacity to tell me it was a bad choice to go with a black door as it would absorb heat from the sun and cause the door to be too hot. We have a south facing building, and I had known this prior but knew it wasn't going to be an issue since we have an awning that provides a good amount of shade. I had to basically clean up the mess left on and around the door. It was just a nightmare, and unbelievable to deal with contractors that had little regard for their customers and their craftsmanship.
I reached out immediately with my concerns and frustrations - while Dave was responsive, it was disappointing to hear him tell me that Rick "must've just been having a bad day" to justify the work that was done. Just unbelievable. They approved for a new door replacement and had Brandon and Christian scheduled to basically clean up the mess from the first sub-contractors including having to replace the first door. Overall, this entire process was not worth the money, headache, and every ounce of sweat trying to resolve this door issue. If I could give 5-stars, I'd give it to Brandon and Christian, they are the true MVPS to this story. More specifically, Brandon deserves a standing ovation for his professionalism, attention to detail, and willingness to go above and beyond to have made the second experience a smooth and positive one. I can't thank him enough.
I don't usually write long reviews and I know everyone's experience will be different. However, I felt it was worth documenting my experience for prospective customers to see a different perspective other than just the 5 star ones you see on here. I will no longer be using THEBCO for future replacements. read more
