Here are some comments about Classic's results/performance in several key areas: Quality: This may be where Classic made the greatest impression with us. Brian and the entire team set very high standards for quality, and it shows in their results. This includes high quality materials and craftsmanship, and valuable consultation with decisions. On numerous occasions, they helped steer us towards great style and other decisions that will ensure our long term satisfaction. We regularly receive compliments from friends and family about our home, and Classic deserves a lot of the credit. Communication: We had a true sense of partnership with Classic, and they did a great job keeping us updated along the way. Like many people in our situation, we were nervous and had lots of questions. Classic was responsive and consistently put our minds at ease. Cost/Budget: The process of putting together bids and cost estimates was very easy, and Classic provided accuracy and transparency throughout. The final cost was exactly what we expected, and it was less than the initial bids we had received from other builders. Schedule: Classic did a great job adhering to the planned schedule (which they shared with us along the way), and our home was completed in less than 4 months. Not only that, but we needed a place to live during construction (our previous house sold quicker than expected), and Classic provided us with a flexible arrangement at one of their rental properties. Standing Behind Their Work: In any construction project project, there will be things that didn't quite go as planned or that need follow-up work. A good measure of a service provider is how they handle these occurrences. We had a couple minor things (quality of work from a couple of the sub-contractors) that needed attention and Brian took care of everything quickly and at no extra cost. All in all, we were (and still are) extremely satisfied with our decision to have Classic build our home. We would definitely build with them again, and recommend them to anyone we know who is thinking about building a new home.

We built a Classic Custom Homes (CCH) house in the Lake Wisconsin area that was started in the fall…read moreof 2016 and finished in early 2017. We actually live in Maryland, and went back-and-forth to Wisconsin during the design and building of our home. We selected CCH after due diligence involving the opinions of local real estate agents, looking at an in-progress CCH home and asking questions of the future owners, attending the Madison area Parade of Homes, and checking out a completed spec home with Jennie (the builder's wife) in the Kilkenny Farms development just outside of Waunakee. Jennie really helped us decide on CCH, as she just seemed confident, knowledgeable, and above all, credible. The design process went well, as Brandon was both talented and easy to work with. Building a home is never stress-free, and this house was no exception. 2016 was the wettest year in Wisconsin history, and so the job site was extremely muddy. This made everything more difficult, starting with the ground and driveway being too soft for a cement truck to drive on. With the cement truck having to stay on the main road, cement for the foundation was delivered via "pump" system, which delivers cement via a series of long pipes. The "pump" system was a cost overrun, but given the operating environment, it was unavoidable. When the home was completed, it was not difficult to have the few "punch list" items corrected. Our completed house is everything we had hoped for: beautiful, well-made, and energy-efficient. We still live in Maryland, but plan to move to Wisconsin soon. We were away this past winter, and when we got to our CCH house this summer for the first time in about 8-9 months, we had a wet basement. Thus was likely due to a particularly brutal winter, with heavy snow and then a sudden thaw, and compounded by our not being here to keep snow away from the house. With our insurance company ruling that this was caused by "ground water", our claim was dismissed. However, Bryan of CCH has helped out a lot, first sending out a crew to remove wet carpeting, drywall, and trim, and then scheduling a crew for final remediation. Since our house was completed over two years ago, and we were absent for the entire winter, we are more than grateful for the assistance of CCH. Bryan can be blunt, it is true, but in my view he is also honest and helpful. We are at an age where we may never build another house, but if we do, it will be with Classic Custom Homes. Without reservation, I recommend this builder to anyone.

Not only did it rain hard but very strong winds blew directly into our new door and windows. With our old windows and doors, we would have been on hands and knees with towels and mops sopping buckets of water from our wood floors. This time we stayed absolutely dry. I was actually surprised we didn't get a even little leakage due to the intensity of the wind and volume of rain we had last night but, no, not a single drop. Can't say enough good about Thebco. You won't go wrong selecting them to replace your windows and doors.

Last fall, I reported that I felt they weren't working properly. When their service technician came out, I was told that the sashes were a quarter of an inch shorter than they should have been. He ordered new sashes. When they arrived, he installed them in two windows but in the third the latches didn't line up. He told me that he would order new ones and install the latches himself. On January 19th, one of the windows that was replaced in the master bedroom had a seal failure and there was ice in the bedroom, which I let Thebco know about. On May 20th, the service technician brought only one sash with the wrong latches. I called Thebco in early July and received an email apologizing blaming the manufacturer for the delay. I called again on July 17th and haven't received a response. Was Canadian wild fire smoke getting into our bedroom, and did I have increased utility costs with windows that may not be operating at 100%? Is this what you would consider good customer service?

LENGTHY REVIEW STARTS HERE: It took over a year and a half and meeting with 15 roofing companies to finally find the right company for my job: The Exteriors Company. My house has a modern/Frank Lloyd Wright kinda vibe - lots of different roof sections and pitches. A majority of the first 15 contractors that bid on my roof repair wanted to sell me a new roof. The problem with my roof was a design flaw and a new roof would have eventually led to more water in my house. This was confirmed by an architect. If you look at the before and after photo, you can see how ridiculous the design was. We had water coming into our house anytime it rained and when the snow melted. It was awful. We were lucky enough to have Ryan (the owner of The Exteriors Company) come look at our roof. The first thing he said after climbing on to the roof was, "You need to redo this whole area," confirming what we already knew. That was the first clue that we found a good roofing contractor. After talking in person and over email with Ryan and getting the contract for the project, we knew we found the right company. Ryan was so communicative. He reached out regularly through the repair process. We had four different teams (framing, roofing, siding and gutters) work on our repair. We were notified in advance when to expect each team. Then each team project manager reached out via text a day or two before and the day of their work. Each team was on time and did beautiful work. The crew at Exceptional Exteriors replaced 50 sashes on our windows. This was a warranty…read morereplacement where I contacted the manufacturer to get the replacement sashes. The guys at Exceptional Exteriors said that they had done other window replacements and gave me a reasonable bid. They ran into some technical issues with the pre-drilled and routed holes from the factory but they figured out what to do and got all of the window sashes replaced in two days (in January) with minimal impact to our family (and I work from home). The work these guys did is amazing with no damage to the stiles or jambs. They were neat in their work, cleaned up after everything was done and have checked back in after the fact to make sure we are happy. I highly recommend this team.

Our old home had many architectural and builder-related challenges and Washa dealt with all very successfully. Our most recent project was a garage remodel and it was approached with the same attention to detail and professionalism as any of our other projects. They were very timely when I reached out to make the first contact. Very shortly afterward they arranged a meeting with the subcontractors (floor, electrical, design team, insulation etc.) to make sure everyone was on the same page. I felt like were really benefited from the group think. The garage remodel included a food prep work area and Washa construction came up with some unique and practical builds to meet our needs including a heater, hoist, wall mounted foldable food grade stainless steel table, lighting so bright that you could do surgery in there, and smooth nonporous impervious walls around the work area. We are thrilled with the outcome and have had many, many compliments on the garage. I cannot say enough good things about working with this company. I'm a detailed oriented 'picky' client and here are the things that I like. They are respectful and take their time with clients. What is common to them is not common to the client and they understand this. Timely communications are a priority (phone, email, text). I send an email with points, and I get a meaningful response. It was very clear who was managing the project and who to call if I had questions or "some things I noticed..." The estimates have always been fair and competitive, billing is transparent, and the work timeline was clear over the whole project. There is no upselling, e.g. getting a new garage door when the one we had was working just great. The workmanship and attention to detail are consistently superb. Pat was the lead carpenter on the current project, and he insured all the work was done correctly and even had many helpful suggestions to make the site more functional. I was very impressed with the clean-up... work sites were cleaned up at the end of the day even if they were coming back the next day. It seemed like their motto was "leave it cleaner than how we found it". Over the years I have seen the same people working with the company and that says a lot about the company atmosphere and how people feel about working with them. Happy workers do better work and treat clients well. One important thing to me is being able to trust the workers when I cannot be at home. They ensure things are locked up. There is no concern about pets, kids, etc. They even took great care to make sure they did not block the mail person's access to our mailbox.
