Oops, I accidentally deleted my original review so I'll do it again because they deserve it and…read morepeople need to know. I am in my late 60's and have a lot of thick hair that grows fast. The wrong cut can just make me look sloppy especially as it grows in. I also have a lot of pain in my right shoulder so I can no longer use a curling iron. I have been to just about every hair salon in Moon Township and some in the surrounding areas. I tell them what I want and even take pictures (which most of them don't even bother to look at) with me showing the kind of style I want, but, they all just do the same cut. Some people seem to think just because your older you don't care what you look like. I figured DiVora was probably the only salon in Moon Township I hadn't tried. I called, made the appointment and told them the type of hair I have. They set up an appointment with MaryBeth. When I got there she was busy cutting a man with what looked like very thick hair. I liked what I saw and knew then I had found the right person. I was right. MaryBeth did EXACTLY what I had been looking for for years!! It is very short, but, it has style and so easy to take care for. I absolutely love it! I have received many compliments on my hair style. Thank you so much MaryBeth. I have been there twice so far and will continue to call this my permanent salon. Please don't ever leave MaryBeth. Oh yeah, their prices are reasonable, less than many of the "hair hacks" I have been to previously.

Can't say good enough things about this salon. Everyone that works there is a sweetheart. Beth cut…read moremy hair and blew me away. I had a grown out bad haircut and she blended it in and somehow magically made my hair look longer. She always listens intently to what I want and doesn't just do whatever she wants like a lot of stylists do. If you have long hair and get nervous about too much being cut off, Beth's your girl. She stopped and asked several times throughout the cut about my opinion on what she was thinking to do next. Couldn't be happier with the outcome. Thanks, Beth!

I hate to leave this review as my initial contact with Salon Le Mae was such a positive one, but…read morealas.... I was relatively new to the area and needed a new stylist, ASAP. After reviewing some options online and making a few phone calls, I quickly settled on Salon La Mae. The reason? I was so impressed with the brief yet thorough consultation I had with the lovely young woman who answered the phone. She asked what I was looking to achieve and quickly recommended the salon owner for my first visit. She even went so far as to give me the owner's private number so I could forward her pics of what my current style looked like and what style I was aiming for. I was told this would better prepare for my initial visit. Nice, right? And I must say, my initial visit was quite good. It was right after COVID re-opening, so many safety protocols were in place. I especially liked how they provided me with a disposable mask so that bleach wouldn't ruin mine. Jamie was very thorough with my consultation and processed my color beautifully. She struggled a bit with my balayage, and I left with more of a highlighted look rather than an ombre appearance, but it was still quite nice. She also struggled some with the flat iron beach wave I requested as far as styling. But not a big deal whatsoever. My biggest complaint was the noise. It's a chatty place and very loud. I like to relax during my salon visits and it's next to impossible to do at this location. The conversation and language could use a slight 'cleaning up' as well. So, onto the following visits. This is where the pleasant waters started to murky some. I called to schedule a root touch-up and was promptly provided an appointment on a Saturday, which I requested due to my work schedule. The night prior to my appointment, I received a text from Jamie stating that she double booked the following day and needed to reschedule my appointment. The soonest she had open was an evening, the following Tuesday at 6:00. Although it was just a few days away and I try to remain flexible, this was frustrating. After a 9-hour workday, I would have to get approval to leave work 15 minutes early and sit at the salon after being away from home all day. So overall, my second appointment was surrounded in unfortunate circumstances and felt rushed once started. Now to my third and final 'attempt' at making an appointment. I called the salon several times one evening to schedule and could not get through. The only option I had was to leave a voicemail for my stylist who would call me back to schedule an appointment. That call never came. I gave it a few days and decided that I should probably admit defeat and move on to another salon. I did and I'm content. Salon La Mae is a laid-back place and just fine for a quick hairstyle needed by a client with a fairly open schedule. Just not for me.

One stylist at this particular location, however, changed my mind about that drastically. She cuts and styles my hair significantly better and more consistent than anywhere else I have been, including higher-end hair stylists. She takes a lot of time and puts a lot of care into each and every haircut, and as a result, I request her every time. I often come in wanting a slightly different style or length, and she always seems to read my mind to get it precisely how I want it every time. For Robert Morris University students (including myself), this Great Clips is right across the street in the plaza, and they offer a $2 discount for us. If you go, request Mindy for sure. I am sure the other stylists are great as well, but I will never use anyone else as long as she stays at this location.

They do not offer any dying or highlighting options at this location. I walked in after work during the week and did not have to wait at all. A wash, cut, and blow dry ran me $27. The only negative part of my visit was that the price to have my hair flat ironed on top of my other service would have been an additional $23 because my hair is longer than my shoulders. I thought that was a bit much.

Had to come back and update my review because a lot has changed at Vibrant Styles Salon & Spa...all…read moregood changes, though! Since opening five years ago the business has grown, literally: they've moved into a larger space. Their services list (per their website) includes cuts, coloring, waxing, lash extensions, and hair treatments and massages. Disclaimer that I've only ever gotten a haircut so that's the only service I can comment on. I'm officially a regular now, and I always book with Mallory because she does an excellent job. My hair is in the 2C/3A range and it is THICK...but Mallory always manages to tame it, making me look and feel fantastic. The larger space now also includes a small store stocked with not only hair care products, but with items made by local artists (including a member of the salon's own staff, as of my last visit). You can now browse through and purchase art, crystals, jewelry, crocheted creations, and more. A larger space also means...more cats! The salon is home to Jinx, Cinder, Onyx, and Arya - all four of whom graced me with their presence during my most recent visit. A holiday miracle indeed. It's been wonderful to see this business grow so much in a relatively short amount of time; and most importantly, it's still one of the most welcoming spaces I've had the privilege of spending time in. To me they're more than worth the drive from Carnegie to Coraopolis.

I've always gone to very pricey salons and have a regular hairdresser that I see every eight weeks but could not get in touch with her (sets own appointments at a larger salon). My husband and I drove around and went in to four different places but the vibes were off for me. We finally stumbled upon Supercuts in Moon and were instantly greeted by Shawniece who was so kind and welcoming. I was able to get an appointment right away and she was amazing. She listened to exactly what I needed and was able to interpret things that I couldn't quite explain that were off. She fixed my hair (issue with uneven layers from growing out a layered cut and excess length) and it is perfection. I could not be happier. My regular stylist finally texted back and I had to tell her I'm sorry but I already went to Supercuts! I will be back -the interior felt like a very nice salon and was fabulous all around. Better haircut (and I felt comfortable) here in my experience than what I've been paying a lot of extra money for. Incredible!

I have gone through many stylists since I moved away about 6 years ago. However, if I had my way, I would come home to get my hair done every time. Many of the stylists I have seen since I left the Pittsburgh area charge far too much. And for some reason that I cannot understand, I find that it takes hours more with other stylists than it takes her to do the same heavy low lights and highlights. Kristin is a seasoned veteran in this industry and she knows exactly what she is doing. Although, I found the last appointment to be rather high in price for the time that it took and the rather strange location of the salon, I believe that the price really is worth it for the quality of stylist and the results. I would recommend her for every age, cut, and color.
