This shop is located within a storefront that houses other smaller shops, so I was a bit confused…read moresince I wasn't aware of this. There is a front reception area but no receptionist, so I guess you're just supposed to know where your stylist's room is - this one was in the back. It's a nice little room, the experience was very comfortable. I like how my hair looks, it's sleek and it looks like it has some life. I got the deep conditioning treatment and haircut for $25 (normally $50 but I had a groupon), and then it was $65 for a press and curl, so for a deep conditioning treatment, haircut, and style it'll run you $115. So unfortunately that's way out of my budget for such a short lifespan style. Though I like the end result, I wasn't expecting to have to pay so much more just to get the press and curl. Also, though the door says she takes card, her machine wasn't working or something, so I had to spend extra time and gas going to the bank to get the money for the extra costs, and she didn't have change for a twenty so I had to take care of that too. From a customer standpoint, this is obviously not good. Pretty much the missing stars are for the high price and me having to go so out of my way to pay her, but otherwise the hair is a-ok, so three stars is just about right

so i've had like the worst luck with getting hair cuts done correctly especially my bangs. i have…read morelong hair and seriously everywhere i go you can't really mess up my length but my bangs. when you mess up my bangs i cry and wished i didn't go in for a trim. my girlfriend has been recommending genevieve's for over a year now and well i was scared to commit. especially when she told me the price. i'm used to getting 20 dollar hair cuts therefore that's probably why i always cry when the stylist messes up my hair. the last salon i went to before genevieve i paid close to $50 plus tip and for weeks wished my bangs grew faster. That stylist totally messed up my bangs too. I didn't know what to expect when I sat down in Genevieve chair. But She was super friendly. Asked me what I wanted, if there were any problem areas with My hair, told me what the last stylist did wrong, asks how i usually style my hair, informs me of What she's going to do before she does it, provided recommendations & stylist tips. She made me feel very comfortable. I've never had a stylist who would actually make conversation with me. The best part was she blew dry my hair and slowly trimmed my bangs. She kept asking me if it was okay and if I wanted it shorter. She didn't go scissor happy. I walked out of there without a tear. I called the salon telling them I was really particular about how my hair is cut, especially as I was going for a bob (basically the shortest I've ever gone). They referred me to Emily, and I can totally see why! First of all, she is so sweet and full of energy and makes you feel very at ease. When I told her I wanted a blunt cut, she was very accommodating even though I have thick hair and that can be a bit of a challenge to work with. Another thing--Emily is extremely meticulous and makes sure every strand of hair is PERFECT. She even had another stylist come and check her work to make sure the two sides were even. I was a client for 10 years, even my daughter loved going to Zac. Unfortunately we all moved to Portland, Oregon and while we love Portland, we really miss Zac & Sal and the salon. If I could fly them out here to do my hair I would. My husband is really tired of my complaining that I can't find a good stylist here in Portland and how much I miss Zac! I haven't been able to find a stylist equal to Zac here in Portland or in Salem. Neither have my daughters, and whenever we are in the Redlands area visiting friends and family, we go get our hair done! I have only had Zac do my hair and I have to say he always knows the right combination of colors to use (I have a brown base and all over blonde highlights), what goes with my skin color and my age. Also he cuts my hair in a way that it always complements my long, long face. I just let him work his magic and I am never disappointed! I can't complement these two enough. I feel confident every time I go to their salon that I will come out looking younger and more put together, like the stars must feel when their stylist work on them. They are the best. Its hard for me to express how much they do for the money they charge...its the best deal but it feels like really high end treatment and service! You definitely won't regret going there, try them!
