I tried Ulta's salon a couple times and it was a no go for me since their attention to detail wasn't there. I found Yoo on Yelp and I'm sooooo glad I did. Her attention to detail was great!!! First, she will ask you what type of style you would like. Then she will cut your hair to the desired length to ensure you are happy with it. She cuts it first before the wash so you can see the length before your hair is washed. The. she will wash your hair and not that whatever kind. She will really wash it with shampoo and conditioner and a nice quick head and neck massage. Then the fun part begins....she gets to work on cutting and she starts with the length then goes into the details so your hair looks natural. I'm not a person that likes to style my hair in the morning. So it's basically a wash and go for me. She gets it and makes it work. The time she spends on the little details makes her such a fantastic stylist. Yoo is so good that she is usually booked every day so I highly recommend making an appt. My hair has been really dry because of the weather and she recommended this leave in conditioner and works so well. Picture attached for reference. The salons system sends a couple of email/text reminders before your date. I was a bit nervous since, in the past, i usually get a message from the stylist asking what Im looking for and wanting a current photo of my hair. I arrived to my appt 15 minutes early. There is plenty of parking in the lot, even with the other store fronts. The roundabout makes it a bit of a pain to get in. When entering, I wasnt greeted by the secretary at the desk. Kind of just stood their awkwardly for a minute before figuring out that there's an ipad to check in with. But if I had been a walk-in, which they accept, it doesnt give that welcoming impression. Savannah greeted me shortly after checking in and she was attentive as I answered her questions on what I wanted. Felt truly heard. Ive been on the search for someone to dye my hair and my past experiences haven't been ideal, color fades even when using the recommended shampoo treatments. Im writing this 2 months later and my hair color is still vibrant. Loved my cut, and the style I was envisioning came to fruition with Savannah's hands. I would say the washing process itself was a bit painful. Gloves felt like they were pulling a lot but I understand theyre needed to protect from the chemicals used. Music is being played while in the salon but I think a TV would be helpful, especially for those appt's that run longer.
