Yoo is FABULOUS! I had a stylist for about 10 years then she decided to go into another field and I had to find a new stylist but I'm super picky when it comes to my haircut. I tried Ulta's salon a couple times and it was a no go for me since their attention to detail wasn't there. I found Yoo on Yelp and I'm sooooo glad I did. Her attention to detail was great!!! First, she will ask you what type of style you would like. Then she will cut your hair to the desired length to ensure you are happy with it. She cuts it first before the wash so you can see the length before your hair is washed. The. she will wash your hair and not that whatever kind. She will really wash it with shampoo and conditioner and a nice quick head and neck massage. Then the fun part begins....she gets to work on cutting and she starts with the length then goes into the details so your hair looks natural. I'm not a person that likes to style my hair in the morning. So it's basically a wash and go for me. She gets it and makes it work. The time she spends on the little details makes her such a fantastic stylist. Yoo is so good that she is usually booked every day so I highly recommend making an appt. My hair has been really dry because of the weather and she recommended this leave in conditioner and works so well. Picture attached for reference. I want to warn people about the pricing here. I paid $200 with tip for a haircut and condition, which is an outrageous overcharge. On Salon Yoo's website, a haircut is advertised as $65+ and conditioning as $45+. I have hair length around my collarbone, not even that long. When I first went to check out, the hairdresser told me the total was $112, which made sense. But after I already paid, the manager came and said it was $165 because they forgot to charge me for conditioning. A HAIRCUT ALONE (NO COLOR) SHOULD NOT COST $112. Either way, I paid in cash and tipped generously. Then, I realized it didn't match at all what their website pricing is. And no one told me what the actual itemized charges were. I went back inside and asked for an itemized receipt. The manager said they don't offer receipts?? They were baffled and said no one has ever requested a receipt before because it's just hair services. I'm reporting them to the CDTFA and FTB for tax fraud, you can also report them to the Department of Consumer Affairs. And I want to warn everyone to double check their charging and not let them take advantage of you. read more

I have been coming to this salon since 2021, and Yoo has always produced fantastic results with my hair. I have requested various styles of bangs, cuts, and services over the years, and I'm never left regretting my decision. I moved farther away recently and thought it would be okay to have my hair cut at a different salon that was closer to me. Big mistake -- the hair stylist rushed the process and I hated how it came out. Needless to say, I'm making the drive to Salon Yoo from now on. I went in on a random Friday because my sister recommended this salon and I just happened to be feeling really ugly. I think I just wanted a change. I called and asked for an appointment and didn't think they'd be able to squeeze me in same day but Helen was available. I sent some pictures in and was told we could do cut and color the same day. I have had my hair colored in the past but it had been about 3 years since I last had any color done. I'm not the best with describing hair and I've never really known what would flatter me best so I just get long layers all the time. After speaking with Helen about my preferences, what I was looking for, and maintenance we got started. I trusted her expertise to do what was best and she did not disappoint me. Friday 12/30/2022 Stylist: John Appointment 5:00pm Came in for a wavy perm, showed a picture and got advised to not get a perm since my hair was still a little curly. I thought because of the discussion they knew what they were talking about. We decided to get a haircut first to see if I needed a perm right after. Yesterday was my 2nd time seeing Yoo. I came in with extremely long hair and left with hair above my chest. The stylist Yoo even stated to me over a phone call that I was being a baby and hair grows back. Now only does she lack professionalism but she as well does not value or respect her clients wishes. Look what she did to me. I am disgusted and gutted from the inside. My favorite thing about myself has always been my hair and she took that away from me. Having lived in the IE for a few years pre-COVID, I was super sad to leave all the friends I met when I moved back down. I also had the hardest time trying to find someone that cuts my hair well! I'm usually very picky with who cuts my hair because some hairdressers just don't know how to take your face shape or hair texture into consideration. About two weeks prior, I was finally frustrated with my hair and how damaged it was, so I caved in and started the search for a salon. I had been trying my best to look in Yelp and Instagram for salons, but they were all either not up to my standards, unavailable for weeks, or just plain unresponsive. Luckily for me, one of my friends from Riverside recommended Yoo! The photos on Yelp looked promising + she responded to my text very quickly and was incredibly responsive! I was sold. She was able to fit me in for a haircut during my Spring Break! I was able to drive up and spend the day with my friends then get my haircut from Yoo! I think any experience with a new hairdresser is fairly awkward, but Yoo was very welcoming. We talked about what I wanted for my hair, I asked her opinion, and her honesty was refreshing to hear! Our stylist did an amazing job, Allie. She was very friendly and made my daughter comfortable as they talk and listened to what my daughter wanted done. I would have given this establishment a 5 star. I'm not sure if other salon also charge by the hour. This is our first time, we had an apt. ask for the price and was told it would be by the hour for the hair color job that will be done. And for my daughter being excited I said ok. I went to this place for the first time. The services I got were a bleach on my roots (I had previously bleached my hair so I just needed a touch up) and a color on my whole head after. I got charged $420. THIS IS INSANE. I have always been getting similar services from multiple different hair salons, and I had never been charged more than $300 before. Also, after the stylist bleached my roots, I could still see some black spots around my face. After all, It turned out very dark, almost purple-ish red, although I ordered orange. The stylist and the other lady (I think the owner) told me that it will be orange after a few wash which makes sense, but I am still worried and I know it won't be the orange I wanted anyway. Overall, I am not too unhappy about my hair, but THEY ARE WAY OVERPRICED. Again, $420 for just getting my roots (probably like 3 inches) bleached and getting full color. read more
