I am giving two stars because I really appreciate the owner (Adriana) getting me in to attempt to fix a bad hair cut and toner from my previous stylist however at one point I almost got up and walked out because she did not seem like she wanted to do my hair today. I ended up staying and got toner and a cut . The cut looks much better and the color would've been pretty if applied correctly. After I left Vida I noticed some of the highlights underneath did not appear toned so I drove back to the salon and another stylist was kind and offered to text Adriana. Adriana came back in the salon and said she was eating her lunch (she looked irritated in my opinion ) , stated she does not see where my hair didn't take and blamed my hair as the problem. She also said "it's all one color" . She did not offer to add more toner or fix it. Pictures below definitely show the toner didn't take and/or wasn't applied correctly. I paid $188.60 for a cut and toner which I wouldn't mind if it was done correctly. For the price clients happiness should definitely be a priority! Customer service is priority for me and I will definitely pay and tip well for that alone. I do appreciate Adriana's recommendations on hair products, fixing my cut the best she probably could and almost fixing the color. I will never return here because i have higher standards when it comes to customer service and I am very picky about my hair. read more

This is mostly a review for Alfred. I lucked out in finding him at a previous salon and saw his name mentioned with Vida Salon recently. I am the person who doesn't like change. I never seemed to end up liking my new haircuts. But every time Alfred handles my hair, i get compliments left and right. I had decided to cut my waist length hair and get highlights for the first time. I showed Alfred a few photos of what I wanted and he went to work. Alfred once again has saved my hair. I am out of state and decided to try another stylist and my hair was a complete mess, I asked for root touch up and literally looked the same after 6 hours. I scheduled an appt with Alfred a couple months after and flew down to California and in less than 3 hours he was able to fix the mess I had. You can't even tell my hair had stripes in it prior due to the stylist poor job. Every time I go he makes it look perfect. He delivers exactly what I envision and even better. My hair is never dry or brittle and is always shiny and healthy. I have thick coarse hair which has caused other stylists in the past some trouble but he makes it look sleek. I can't recommend him enough for anyone especially if you're blonde or want to go blonde. He has seriously taken care of my hair the past year and a half and I can't go anywhere else. Stylist was Aiyana D. PAID 390 and tipped 25 For reference. I had never had my hair professionally dyed but had only dyed my hair at home. I only had half of my head and just the tips bleached and used a temporary magenta color from the splat brand. Im a quiet person and I hate confrontation and i regret i didnt open my mouth sooner. I came in and was checked in by the same the stylist who was going to do my hair. I was sat in the chair and then showed her the reference picture of what i wanted (was only looked at once). She looked at my hair quoted me the given price, i was hesitant because thats really expensive and She explained removing the pink could be hard and the price point given is reasonable for what i was asking for. I put some trust in her and figured she knew what she was doing so i said okay. She applied the color remover and told me it would be 30 minutes then walked away. I was looking at my hair every 5 minutes and could see how fast the color was removed and got more nervous the closer to 30 minutes it was. I figured she may have thought i used a permanent dye and thats why it needed so much time (obviously my first time in a professional chair) so i asked someone who was near by to call her over because even after 20 minutes she didnt once come back to check the progress. She hurried over and asked what was wrong so i asked her if my hair was okay because of how blonde it already was and her response after she looked annoyed i had someone call her over "I told you id be back in 30 minutes , we need to remove the pink you know . it hasnt been 30 minutes, you still have 6" picked at my hair then walked away. 3 minutes later she told me to follow her to the sinks. My hair after the initial wash felt gummy and was definitely had no pink. Just to briefly mention, she had very aggressive and heavy hands, after being there from 9am to 2pm my head is pounding from how hard she pulled my hair, from the dying to Washing to brushing drying And styling, it wasnt a pleasant feeling at all. Then came the part for the rest of my hair .. as she did the back i ask how high up she was going, she looked at my and said "just like the picture" so i nervously explained to her i was hoping i didnt have blonde too high up on my roots.. she stops and says "SO you DONT want it like the picture" i tried to clarify that i did but i was hoping i could get something to blend my dark hair and the blonde, if she had thoughts or recommendations she looked at me annoyed and said "the picture has it high up and its blonde you have dark hair . Its going to look like you didnt do your roots" so i explained to her i was just a bit confused. I had never had my hair dyed before and i didnt know her process of dying hair (SINCE IVE NEVER HAD MY HAIR DYED BY HER BEFORE) after i said all that she kind of was a bit nicer... then again after 5 hours this was the only conversation we had so how can i really judge someone who didnt even ask me how i was , if i was comfortable or if i had plans for the day, idk light talk ? Common Courtesy. I dont expect someone to be entertaining or have something to say the whole time but maybe get to know the person whos letting you touch their hair? Then by the end she washed dried and styled my hair and by the first photo you can see what I wanted, the second what we started with, the third the color removed somewhat and the last whatever that could be considered, cause its not relatively close to the first and that goes with saying i know it takes a couple sessions going from natural dark hair to blonde silver, but this ! This doesnt even go as high from the back front like the picture or anything. And to top it off , i brushed out the curls and theres a straight across line ! Its not even BLENDED NICELY . This is cute but not what i wanted maybe if i had something completely different as a reference it could compare. Idk let me know as a first time client here and in the chair what couldve made this whole situation better. So i can ask someone else!
