For the service room, they have light blocking shades, so it is appropriately dim - but it is also on the side where the hotel pool is, so you can hear the thumping of the music coming in a bit. I was given water and brought back by another staff member, which I appreciated. Ultimately, my masseuse was late by 13 mins and, by the time the room was set up, we started 30 minutes late. Thankfully, I had nothing going on later that day. Finally, when my service started my masseuse, Lizzie, was fantastic; she asked what she should concentrated on and actually listened to me; nor did she push enhancements on me that I didn't want. Instead of using that time to provide the kind of relaxing experience I've received from other esthetician, such as a neck, shoulder, or hand massage, I was left listening to social media videos. I believe they have restrictions of having their cell phones in the room. There were other issues as well. The facial steamer was positioned so close to my face that it became uncomfortably hot, and I had to ask her to move it. That's something I don't feel a client should have to point out during a professional facial. When I spoke with the front desk afterward, I was told she wasn't from that location and had come from another Hand & Stone to help out. While I appreciated the explanation, it didn't change my experience. I also explained that I didn't think I should lose one of my membership credits for a service that fell so far below expectations. I later emailed corporate to share my concerns and never received a response. After being a loyal member for years, I expected much better customer service and follow-up. Everyone can have an off day, but using your phone to watch TikTok during a client's facial and then failing to respond to a formal complaint isn't the level of professionalism I expect from a company that promotes relaxation and self-care.
