I would highly recommend Style Matters to anyone who wants the dance floor packed all night! We had been having a lot of issues with our previous DJ-so when we started researching for a new one, communication was a top priority. Spencer, the owner and our main contact, was promp and professional in all communication. At our first meeting (the only time we had to go to them to meet), we told Spencer all of our "wants and needs" for the wedding. I knew right away that these were the DJs for us! Our biggest concern was keeping our dance floor full the whole night. Spencer was quick to reassure this was their top goal, too. Spencer paired us with Ryan (and Tom assisted him). All three of them are extremely knowledgeable on all sorts of genre of music. Ryan certainly upheld Spencer's promise to keep the dance floor full! He and Tom were both extremely professional and well dressed. We got a lot of compliments that our wedding had the "best wedding music ever". Ryan was also very accommodating to my requests but also balanced my requests with keeping the atmosphere appropriate for a wedding and all the age groups in attendance. read more

I chose Style Matters for our wedding after reading the Yelp reviews. The reviews do not decieve or exaggerate how great of a job they do. Spencer did our wedding. Leading up to the event, he was always prompt with correspondence and flexible with meeting times. He was very helpful in constructing a timeline of events (introductions, cake cutting, speeches, first dance, etc) and everything on the actual day went flawlessly. Being an ex DJ, it was important to me to have someone who actually blended songs, scratched, and showed some creativity in selection. Spencer did so and did a fantastic job at it. He played the songs/artists we wanted to hear and surprised us with other gems we did not expect. He dug up all of the old reggae we wanted to hear during our dinner and supplemented the vibe with his own selections. There are many versions of our first dance song and he made sure (again) before the actual dance that the right one was cued up. That was very relieving. All throughout the night he kept the dance floor moving. If a requested song did not connect he switched it right up and moved on like a pro. A couple of weeks later he sent us an MP3 recording of the entire even (including the speeches). Everyone-friends, parents, and grandparents-gave us compliments on the DJ (Spencer). Thanks for helping to make our wedding so much dang fun. read more

A few things: 1) Noah from Style Matters killed it at our wedding reception! The dance floor was packed the entire night. 2) If you are a music snob, they will figure out a way to play your requests and fit them in with crowd pleasing classics. 3) Spencer sets you up with the perfect DJ based on your tastes. 4) Book early - we booked with Style Matters about 8-9 months in advance, and it was totally worth it! 5) We received an endless number of compliments from our guests about Noah and the music. The DJ really makes or breaks the party - don't do the ipod - go with these guys! read more

Picking a DJ for your event, especially your wedding day, is more complex than just looking in the yellow pages or going with the first DJ that pops up on your Google search. This wasn't apparent to me until my wedding day. You see, I thought the latter. Just pick someone, anyone, it is just music. Now my wife on the other hand knew the importance of choosing the right DJ. My wife researched more DJ companies than there are Chins in a Chinese phone book. She asked friends, family, and recalled her past experiences with weddings to come up with someone who would understand our wants and needs when it came to setting the tone for what would turn out to be one of the best times one could possibly have. She ended up going with, "Style Matters". Once again my ignorance took over and I was more happy that she finally picked someone than the fact that she went with "Style Matters". I was ignorant because I was unaware of what the actual difference was between a professional DJ and someone who has an Ipod and a computer. The night we met our DJ, Dustin Harris I was very pleased at his attitude and overall concern for meeting our expectations we had for our upcoming wedding. His personal professionalism actually began before our in person meeting when he sent out an in depth questionnaire covering all of the possible aspects of the wedding night. He was understanding, open-minded, and his own creative side added a special flare that I felt made our wedding unique from others. The night of the wedding everything we discussed was played out to the tee. He was literally Johnny on the spot and had the adaptability to overcome any curve balls that were thrown at him. There was a moment when the mother/son dance was to take place, but my mother was unavailable at the time, so without missing a beat, he had already cued up the next dance without anyone really noticing. He was able to do this because of his attentiveness to everything that was going on. I would highly recommend "Style Matters" and even more highly recommend Dustin Harris as your pick for your next event. From the first phone call, email communications, and live meetings with the staff of the company it was nothing more than pure class all of the way. If your looking for a DJ with all of the silly gimmicks and fancy light shows, then look somewhere else. On the other hand if you are looking for a company that is going to meet your every needs and put on a show that all of your guest will not stop dancing to, then "Style Matters" is for you. read more

Style Matters knows their music! My husband and I were EXTREMELY picky about the way that we wanted our wedding music and, upon looking into it, came across Style Matters through a recommendation. They seemed to fit them bill perfectly on paper - no corny lights, no overplayed "wedding" music, and a down-to-earth style. Our excitement only grew after meeting Spencer and then eventually Noah (our wedding DJ) and we knew that we had made the right decision. The entire process was smooth from the get-go. They knew how to handle everything, which was a breath of fresh air while wedding planning! If we had any questions or concerns, they were right there to answer them and provide us with reassurance. The best was the showcase that my husband and I were able to attend after booking our wedding. Spencer knows how to throw a party! It was a really neat event that gave us a chance to meet and listen to all the various DJs. It really made us feel like we had a hand in how our DJ was selected, which was really important to us. Bottom line: if you are looking for a DJ that will bring out the best in your guests, look no further! Noah was professional and precise - not to mention, we are still getting compliments from friends and family. ALL (and I seriously mean all) of our guests were on the dance floor that night. It was packed the entire time. It really, truly felt like Noah knew us and our guests and completely customized the music to fit our needs. Could not have asked for a better experience and I will recommend these guys to anyone that asks (and even to those who don't)! read more

Our wedding was about three weeks ago and we had Max from Style Matters as our DJ. Just got to say that Max was absolutely the right DJ for our wedding and he did an incredible job! We had a lot of music infused into our two separate ceremonies (traditional american and traditional korean) and he did a great job of seamlessly working in the music. During the dinner, he played a lot of relaxing music at a good volume so the guests could talk. Afterwards, that's when the party really started and Max really got it going! He paid close attention to make sure that as the guests changed, the music changed with it, which was perfect. Towards the end of the night it was all a younger crowd and everyone kept on dancing and drinking until the very end, very much due to Max's choices in music. I would recommend Style Matters to anyone looking for a DJ. Spencer did a great job finding out about our music tastes and picked a great DJ (MAX!) for us! Thank you so much for everything! read more

YIKES. I am SO late on this - but couldn't live with myself if I didn't give Style Matters a rave review! My husband & I used Style Matters for our wedding in June, and we cannot say enough great things about the service. Spencer was our DJ, and he was the most reliable and easy going part of our whole event! He was interested in what we wanted from the beginning, always listened to any of my requests and responded in record time (via email or phone!). Oh, and did I mention we coordinated our whole wedding in the 'burbs of Chicago from NYC? He made it all so easy! Our party was one for the ages... my wedding dress is actually torn because we were jumping up and down so much. I wouldn't have it any other way. Thanks Spencer! Style Matters DJs are amazing! When my fiance and I started the search for a DJ, we knew we would be asking for a lot. We both care a lot about music, and wanted our tastes reflected (i.e. no "chicken dance"). On top of that, our wedding was a mix of two cultures--Indian and American. So, it was even more important to us to find a DJ that could find a balance between the two traditions. It was our worst fear to have too much of one genre or the other, thinking that half of our guests could feel alienated. Enter Spencer from Style Matters! When we sat down with him for an initial consult, we knew right away we were dealing with the right people. Spencer has all the right ideas--he believes that music can make or break a wedding, and that one of the best ways to reflect who a couple is is to showcase the kinds of music they love. He also assured us he had a DJ who could perfectly hit the right ratio of Indian and American music seamlessly. Justin Dawson (DJ Itch13 aka Itchie Fingers) was our wedding DJ, and he was AMAZING!! He met with me the week of the wedding to go over our likes and dislikes music-wise (what must be played, and what absolutely should not be played), and we had a good time thinking of great, and not so great, music to play and different times during the reception. I gave him a list of Indian/Bollywood "hits" we had collected, and he said he would do more research and would be sure to have the Indian tracks we listed for him. Come the night of the wedding, everything was incredible. Justin's mix during dinner was filled with songs and artists we love, and he also threw in songs we didn't know but loved anyway! The mood was perfect. Once it was time to start dancing, he kept the crowd on the floor all night. He knew exactly how much Indian music to play, and he read the crowd remarkably. (I mean, he played everything from AR Rahman to Hall and Oates!). To top it all off, Justin was just plain nice, and very professional. A++++! read more

Style Matters is totally professional. The initial contact with Spencer was super easy, thorough and laid back. Everything worked out exactly as he said it would. With all the stresses of a wedding, the DJ selection process was a breeze. Spencer selected DJ Intel (Jason). DJ Intel was great to work with. We're from DC so we couldn't meet until 3 days before our wedding. He sent us a list of items he needed prior to our meeting and we also chatted on the phone. We then met up at our preferred location and went over the final details. DJ Intel executed our only request: make everyone dance all night! We had sent him a list of "our" (bride/groom and friends) favorite hits. However, we're not DJ's and we had a lot of family that's not so privy to house music and gangster rap...haha The dance party immediately started and our families took it over and it did not stop. DJ Intel played to everyone! Our venue was at The Murphy Chicago and they have a hard close of 12am. They were flashing the lights because we would not let DJ Intel stop. We've received multiple emails, facebook messages and texts about how much fun was had. Strongly recommend! read more

Couldn't have asked for a better DJ for our wedding at The Ivy Room. Noah was very professional and played the perfect mix of what we had requested and what the crowd wanted to hear. He played for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. Everyone was dancing by the end of the night, across the generations, and we got SO many compliments on the music. The only thing that could have been better was the organization up-front. Spencer was a little MIA at times (he said we'd have a DJ assigned months in advance but it only happened about a month beforehand). This wasn't a big deal for us, but a more neurotic bride may have some issues with this. It all worked out better than I could have expected in the end and we were so grateful to have Noah with us on our special day. Thanks, Style Matters! read more

Our wedding was July 5, 2014...This review will not capture just how incredible Spencer, Noah and the entire Style Matters team were but I will try. My wife and I had a very specific vision on what we wanted our wedding to be...We were looking for a more non-traditional, unique wedding vibe; focusing on the party and making sure our guests had a fun time. Needless to say, music was a key component to that and hiring a DJ that could get on our level and understand what we were trying to do was also key. We interviewed several DJs and coming out of our meeting with Spencer it was a no brainer, SM fit the mold of what we wanted out of our wedding. Throughout the entire process, Spencer over communicated, was a straight shooter and just gets it! Style Matters hosted a showcase event where their fleet of DJs took turns spinning so you can get a better idea of each DJs' styles...We locked in Noah, and from there we had several planning email exchanges and meetings...Noah, as well, understood exactly what our visions were. On to the wedding, our planning was organized and to a point where I did not need to concern myself about the wedding's music, Noah took it from there...The dance floor was packed the entire night...non-stop dancing and partying...exactly what we wanted! Thank you Style Matters for being part of our special day, this review goes without saying, but if you are looking for a DJ we highly recommend Spencer and his team. If you choose to go another direction- sucks for you and your guests... read more

We booked Style Matters particularly for DJ Major Taylor, and he was great the day of. The problem is that we paid for a recording of the wedding and it is now four months post wedding and still don't have a copy of the recording. I keep getting assurances that it is forthcoming, but it never comes. At this point, I just want honesty - either an honest assessment of when I can expect to receive the recording or for them to admit that it wasn't actually recorded and to get my money back. I understand that everyone is busy in the wedding industry until October, but at least be frank about delivery dates. Overestimate if anything. I am also busy and am rather unhappy about having to waste time on a series of unproductive emails that don't get results or even honesty. Edited to add that after I wrote my review, I finally received a link to download the recording along with an explanation of what went wrong and a refund of the recording fee, which was nice and unexpected. We loved having DJ Major Taylor as our DJ, and the day of the wedding went off without a hitch. I just wish that I had gotten clearer answers about the situation in response to my initial emails. Spencer (the owner) did resolve the situation well in the end. read more

The thing that brought us to Style Matters is that all of the DJ's have a life DJing outside of weddings. That's a good sign that these people love to do this work and it's not just a job for them. Spencer was on it in terms of logistics, and our DJ John Simmons put together an awesome time for us all, he took time to figure out what tunes we were into and made a great party out of it. We picked him because of his background in Soul R&B, Jazz and Hip Hop but we also had requests outside of that and he came with some great tracks in all genres. I could tell, and our guests could tell, that this was a playlist tailored to us and they all enjoyed hearing a lot of songs you wouldn't normally hear at a wedding, but that are still great to get down to. We had everything from Pharcyde, Ween, Nina Simone, Radiohead, Robyn, Jurassic Five, Thelonius Monk and Little Dragon bumping at some point. I think there were good tunes for everyone in the audience and more importantly not the same old ones they've heard before. You want a good party with good music? Keep it simple - these guys will make it happen for you. read more

We hired style matters for our wedding in October 2014 and it was perfect from start to finish. We met with Spencer to talk about the overview of our wedding and then we were assigned Max as our DJ. They were all professional and wonderful to work with. They lisened to what we had to say about our music prefences but they are also just plain great DJs and knew exactly what to play to make everyone get up and dance. We were really hesitant to get a DJ becuase of the cheese factor that some DJs have. Style matters had absolutly no cheese factor and actually made us feel cool. Hire them for your wedding, it will be one less vendor you ahve to worry about. They are on time, prompt, professional, and know how to hae a party. Thank you for making our wedding special! read more

If you are about to throw up a fabulous party and if you are planning your wedding, you should definitely take into consideration Style Matters as your DJs. Trust me, I know what I am saying because I hired these guys for my wedding and I didn't regret my decision, not even for a second. It was easy for me and my wife to discuss with them and to let them know about our preferences, and I have to say that they took every single detail that we mentioned into account. There were moments when absolutely everyone was dancing because the music they played matched all tastes. Numerous guests came to us and congratulated us for our choice. Style Matters were in charge of the music for both the ceremony and the reception and they did a great job! The playlist they put together was excellent and also creative. They are professionals and I strongly recommend them to all couples who are searching for someone to handle the music for their weeding. read more

We just hired style matters for our wedding and they were amazing. Spencer always answered our questions quickly and paired us with chris who was our dj. Chris was so thoughtful. For exp I had a serbian family and he wanted to know if he should be prepared to play serb music and how to pronounce names. the music playlist was perfect and he read the crowd really well. everyone loves the music. it made for a perfect night. read more

Still on cloud 9 from our wedding last weekend and Chris (aka DJ Mass Transit) played a big part. What stood out to me initially about Chris and his background is that it covered a wide range of music genres from funk, soul and jazz to modern pop and dance music. We were definitely going for an eclectic mix and after reading Chris's bio and then meeting with him face-to-face to discuss our vision, we felt confident he'd be able to pull it off. And he did. From start to finish, the music flowed and really played an integral part of making our day special and uniquely "us". When it came time for the after dinner dance party, he expertly kicked it up several notches and had the dance floor packed within no time. Even my dad was dancing, and let me tell you, I'm not sure that has ever happened, at least in my lifetime. Chris seemed to effortlessly weave together old and new, and everyone had a great time. I'd highly recommend working with Chris. He's a great listener and communicator and a super sweet guy who's obviously a pro at what he does. read more

Our wedding planner suggested that we meet up with Spencer from Style Matters to discuss hiring his company to DJ our wedding. We had a successful meeting with Spencer and we decided to go with his company. Style Matters held an event at Moonshine (a bar) where several of the DJs from the company performed. After listening to several of the different Style Matters DJs that were available, we decided that we liked the music and mixing of Ryan Norsworthy. We talked with him after he finished his set, and decided that we thought he would be a good fit for our wedding. We contacted Spencer and confirmed that Ryan was available to do our wedding. I'd suggest anyone that goes forward with Style Matters to attend one of these listening parties to get a feel for the different DJs that are available. I've got nothing but good things to say about Ryan, he was absolutely amazing. The dance floor was packed throughout the whole event, and we got tons of compliments regarding how amazing the wedding was. Ryan did a great job of playing the songs we requested along with stuff that he knew would keep the party rocking. He did a great job of catering to both of our very different musical interests and made both me and my wife especially happy. He did a great job of making our wedding exceptionally fun and unique. He also did a little mixing and scratching which really set him apart from your typical wedding DJ. When we met with him a few days before the wedding, I mentioned that I liked Rage Against the Machine, but wasn't sure if that would go over with a wedding crowd. Ryan pulled it off by playing People of the Sun and mixed it in with some other dance song, which went over really well. In general, Ryan is just a super cool dude. If you are looking for a unique and rocking wedding, I would highly recommend him. read more

We hired Style Matters as our DJ for our May 2010 wedding. I searched forever to find a non-cheesy DJ that would just rock our wedding reception! Thankfully, I found Style Matters. I love that they billed themselves as the anti-wedding DJ...there is nothing I hate more at wedding than cheesy wedding DJs, 80s lights and lame songs. Spencer was really attentive during our planning, I requested Dustin becuase he had such fabulous reviews....and Dustin turned out to be AMAZING! He was super sweet and very professional. To this day, I have friends that talk about our wedding music. I've since recommended Style Matters to two of my friends and they are also very pleased. You can't go wrong with Style Matters! read more

Nothing but positive things to say about Style Matters! We had Spencer as our DJ for our wedding. From the first conversation with Spencer to the night of our wedding he conducted himself in a very professional but personal manner. He responded promptly to our emails throughout the planning process. Our wedding reception was so much fun thanks to the music that Spencer played. He played all our requests for our ceremony, cocktail hour and dinner. When it was time to dance, EVERYONE was on the dance floor!! I have had so many compliments on how great the DJ was- from guests young and old-er! Many are saying "It was the best wedding they have ever been to- it was like a big dance party!!" This was EXACTLY the reaction we wanted from our guests, and we owe it to Spencer for allowing us to have a most perfect wedding reception!! Would highly recommend Style Matters!!! read more

My husband and I used Style Matters at our wedding, and we couldn't be happier with their service. Dustin was our DJ, and I can't say enough about how talented, accommodating, and fun he was. In researching DJ companies, it was hard at first to differentiate between them. We heard about Style Matters through positive word of mouth, and are so glad that we chose them. Let me start by saying that to us, the DJ was one of the most important choices we had to make, since the DJ has arguably the most impact on whether or not guests have a good and memorable time at a wedding. We met with the owner, Spencer, pretty early in our planning process. We had previously met with two other DJ companies, and were rather torn between them. After meeting with Spencer, our choice was easy. He answered all of our questions with ease and patience, and made us feel instantly comfortable. One of our main priorities was to have a DJ who wasn't talking on the mic all night, and he made us feel very sure that this was not just his philosophy, but that of his entire organization. A month before our wedding, we were paired with Dustin. We met with him soon after, and went over our timeline and music preferences. Dustin couldn't have been more accommodating and patient with us, and was a true professional from the first second we met with him. He went through our questionnaire thoroughly and asked us questions where appropriate. We left that meeting with a strong sense that he knew exactly what we wanted, without having to spell it out. On the wedding day, Dustin was at our venue early and handled our introductions and dinner music very well. He worked well with our day-of coordinator to keep things moving (dances, speeches, etc.), and even to slow things down a bit when it was obvious people were enjoying mingling after dinner. Once the dance floor was opened, it stayed full the entire evening. I've read that same statement in DJ reviews before, and thought it was an exaggeration, but at least in our case, it was 100% true. This was our primary goal of the evening, and Dustin did a great job with song selection and tempo to make sure there was something for everyone. We had countless guests come up and ask about our DJ and complement his playlist. To sum up, we highly recommend Style Matters. They put the music and the guests first, and make what could be a difficult and stressful process very easy and fun. read more

Music was a VERY important part of our wedding, so picking the right DJ was crucial. After filling out a survey, Spencer from Style Matters sent us three DJ bios he thought might be a good match, and we ultimately picked Dustin Harris. He KILLED it! We met with him about a month before the wedding to talk about what kind of music we liked and didn't like, and encouraged him to create his own mashups with new and old music, especially current hip-hop tracks that sampled earlier songs. He knew how to get the crowd dancing, and was able to seamlessly mix in the inevitable request. He also worked with me to put together a surprise intro for my husband, and worked with the best man to play music timed to his speech. We asked a lot of Dustin, but he did a fantastic job, and we were so impressed with the creativity he infused. He made it fun and exciting, and it was a performance akin to having a live band. We HIGHLY recommend Dustin! read more

We could not recommend Style Matters more!! They are THE BEST!!! Many people who have attended our wedding have been raving about it and talking about it months after. People have been wanting to know what songs we played because they thought the music was so good! Our "music snob" friends and family gave us compliments on our DJ Chris as well! :) I think the music can make or break the whole experience and they made it better than we could imagine. Chris was our DJ and he was perfect!!!! We are so happy!! Highly, highly recommend him!!! The dance floor was always full and that was exactly what we wanted. Chris and his assistant were also SO cooperative for all of our requests and considerate to truly have the music be a reflection of our tastes as well as making our young nieces and nephews and Grandparents happy in addition! Spencer and Chris were also so professional and cool! They are so easy to get along with and are so great at fast responses and reached out whenever we needed them. THANK YOU so much! We made the BEST decision to work with you!! Thank you! read more

My husband and I first met Spencer when we were looking at Ovation for our wedding venue. We ended up booking at a different venue but we were impressed with Spencer and Style Matters so we decided to book them as a DJ. After we filled out our questionnaire, DJ Mass Transit (aka Chris) was recommended for our wedding. We met him a week before the wedding to go over our music choices and he already had most of our music in his repertoire. He was very professional the day of the wedding and his music selection was spot on with our wedding guests. He had everyone on the dance floor all the way until the last song. We gave him a large selection of music to play and he did a fantastic job transitioning them all during dinner that carried over to the dance party. Our guests couldn't stop talking about how great the music was! We are extremely happy we booked our DJ through Style Matters and would consider them the next time we need a DJ! read more

Duke with Style Matters was the DJ for our wedding on Dec 12 at the Newberry Library. This company prides itself on no cheese. No cheesy songs, no crazy lights. Duke just played great music and everyone danced all night long. He was not an obnoxious on-the-mic-all night DJ. He was very chill. My biggest concern going into the wedding was that I wanted all of the guests to have a blast. I don't even know why I worried. Duke had it under control. The dance floor was PACKED all night long. I would definitely recommend using Style Matters for your DJ. read more

My husband and i just got back from our honeymoon and I could not wait to write a review for Style Matters, specifically our DJ, Dustin. From the outset, our experience with Style matters was first rate. Spencer, the owner, was extremely responsive. We met with him early on in our planning process and he was very understanding of what we wanted for the evening. Closer to our actual wedding, Spencer provided us with a selection of DJs from Style Matters that he thought would be a good fit. After reviewing his profile and Yelp reviews, we chose to go with Dustin. We could not have been happier with our decision. The dance floor was packed from the beginning of the evening to the very last song of the night. We provided Dustin with a compilation of music that we are into, for inspiration, and Dustin was able to absolutely rock the house! He completely respected our DO NOT PLAY list and really made the event feel like a seamless success. Dustin has great taste, without being trite, is hip without being condescending and really looks to serve his clients the best way he can. If we plan another event to the scale of our wedding we will definitely use Style Matters again. Their services are affordable and extremely professional. Highly recommend!! read more

We can't say enough about Style Matters!! We love them. I got married on Nov 5, 2011 and I thought we could do the music ourselves with an Ipod and help from our friends/family. That idea fell flat. So just about at the last minute of all the planning, one of my co-workers recommend that we call Spencer. She was getting married the week after us and was planning on using them too. Music for our reception was super high on the list, so I wanted a really good DJ service. But not a service with a cheesy MC. Styles Matters was it. We met with Spencer 2 week before, he assigned us Dustin; who we meet with a week later. Dustin was AWSOME! He asked us our style of music, what we wanted for the night when it came to the mood, and he really worked with us on all parts - intro of the bridal party, our intro, first dance, cake cutting etc. I told Dustin I wanted my feet and my guest feet to be hurting for a few days after! He delivered. I have gotten a lot of comments on how fun the reception was and how great the music was. These guys know there stuff and they know how to help you throw a great party! Our reception was the best!! read more

Style Matters was so outstanding!! We worked with Spencer leading up to our wedding and he was so personable and easy to work with! After, we filled out the questionnaire about the type of music we were looking for, he matched us up with our DJ, Dustin. Dustin was incredible and all our guests were on the dance floor the entire night! Dustin was the perfect DJ for our wedding and played all of our favorite songs. His energy also made for a perfect fun feel! We attached a drummer, Ernie, for the first hour of dancing and it made it sound like a live band! We also had String Theory, live violinist and pianist, play for the ceremony and cocktail hour. They too were outstanding! Never stopped playing, the music was gorgeous, and they really set the tone for the night!! We feel so incredibly lucky to have worked with Style Matters. read more

Dustin Harris was our DJ, and Spencer helped organized and put everything together. These guys are professional, and made us feel great about our decision before and during our wedding. Many of our vendors did not get back to us quickly, or did not respond in a reassuring manner -- with Style Matters this was not the case. We filled out the questionnaire provided by Style Matters and they pretty much did the rest. From the Father-Daughter dance to the closing number, Dustin kept our dance floor full and energized -- I've never danced so much in my life. Great company and a great experience. read more

My husband and I got married this past weekend and are so glad we chose Style Matters as our DJ! We were really impressed with our first meeting with Spencer and have absolutely nothing but great things to say about our whole experience with his company. Dustin, the DJ who worked our wedding, spoke with us at length on the phone a few days prior to our event to discuss the overall style we were going for and made recommendations for entrance songs, first dances, etc. We wanted a classic rock vibe for the cocktail hour and dinner and the playlist that Dustin put together for us did not disappoint! The older generation loved the classic rock and took to the dance floor first. Towards the end of the night he transitioned into some throwback hip hop and other more recent music for the younger crowd. We didn't have to worry about any cheesiness throughout the whole event and both Spencer and Dustin's professionalism was top notch. The music was one of the aspects of the wedding we were complimented most on and we would definitely not hesitate to recommend Style Matters or hire them again in the future! read more

Wow, we first got placed with a DJ (DiscoKitty) whom not only met all of our requirements and style... she was the most professional person at our wedding! hiccups came and went annoyingly but our DJ was the pro who kept it all together and played just what we loved and desired. This is a class organization through and through. Stop questioning your choice and believe me when I say that Style Matters made our wedding better than expected. They are quick on their feet and have seen it all. Place your trust with them and you will not regret it! So much prep work and love goes into every detail with them and myself and my husband could not be happier.. Thanks so much to a DJ that made us standout! read more

Dustin met with us about a week or so before the wedding and went over song preferences and everything - that dude killed it on the wedding night, played everything we liked, nothing we didn't and made sure everyone had an amazing time. We even saw a video online of a drummer accompanying the DJ and put in a late request to Spencer to see if he could make that happen - of course he could! Ernie was the man, definitely brought the music to the next level, it was so cool, highly recommend it, and highly recommend Spencer, Dustin, and Ernie; all three of those guys rock! read more

We used Style Matters for our wedding. Started with String Theory for an hour and then Dustin took over. Dustin met with us before the wedding and paid close attention to what our expectations were for the evening. He then took over and gave an evening of great music. Thanks! read more

We used Style Matters for our wedding last night. We were impressed by our first meeting with Spencer, and we hit it off great with our DJ, Duke. We loved that Duke listened to us and used his talents to keep everyone (young and old) dancing all night. Some of our guests are serious music lovers/concert goers/dancers, etc, and we received compliments from everyone on the DJ. Duke was extremely professional and handled everything smoothly. It's great to have someone so talented working the wedding- it meant less stress for us and we had a blast! I wish the music could have gone on longer :) Thank you, Duke and Spencer! read more

Style Matters was wonderful to work with for our wedding at Galleria Marchetti this past April! We were paired with Dustin and he exceeded all of our expectations. We did not have time to come up with many suggestions and he took our few suggestions and short conversation and gave us everything we were looking for. I don't think our guests left the dance floor... Exactly what we were hoping for. The whole process was seamless. With all the unexpected stress that comes with planning a wedding, Style Matters/Dustin was a breath of fresh air! read more

My husband and I decided that the three priorities for our wedding were photography, food, and music. So we scoured the internet for a DJ that was more than just a "wedding DJ." Through a friend's recommendation, we came upon Style Matters. Before calling we looked at the Yelp reviews and felt confident in making an appointment with Spencer to see what they're all about. We were very impressed with his professionalism and general "coolness" factor. We decided to go with them and had the opportunity to work with Dustin for our August wedding. We can't say enough good things about Dustin. He was very supportive of our musical choices and tastes and crafted the perfect combination of music for our wedding. He had great energy all night, and even had a turn table set up. The overall look and effect was just what we wanted. Our guests danced all night and complimented us on the music. If we had to do it all over, we wouldn't change a thing. If you decide to go with Style Matters, you will not be disappointed. read more

We hired Style Matters--and Dustin Harris in particular to DJ our wedding and could not have been happier with the job they did. From start to finish, they were extremely professional in the months leading up to the big day, and exceeded our expectations throughout. We hired these guys because they were not the traditional "wedding DJs"--you know the type--predictable, overplayed, Chicken Dance. As you can tell from the other reviews, with Style Matters you pick out a DJ or can have a few suggested to you based on your preferences and you go from there. After attending one of the DJ showcases they did (which was a fantastic party, btw), we met with Dustin. We totally hit it off with him and spent at least an hour and a half just talking about music--not a playlist we'd like, but the stuff we like and why we like it. We told him to have fun with it, and the results (mostly music he chose) was like a greatest hits album for me and my wife. Where we had special requests he nailed it (three different songs playing at parts of the processional, for example), and he had his finger on the pulse of our party the whole night. We even ended up with a dance off to a mash up of Jack and Diane / Walk This Way, among a number of other great songs that totally reflected our personalities. He ran defense for us on bad requests (we told him that one of us had to sign off on any of the wedding standards), and got everyone from our late twenties friends to our parents hittin' the dance floor hard. At the end of the night, people really, really, did not want the party to end, and most of that was because of Dustin knocking it out of the park. Thanks guys for making our wedding spectacular! read more
