We ordered food for lunch and brought it home to eat. The chicken wings were very meaty and had a nice heat to them, maybe a bit too much. The wings were a little fatty. The sandwich was very good. The roll was on point, the meat and cheese sliced thin and good quality and the lettuce, tomatoes and onions were plentiful. We will definitely order a sandwich the next time we stop by.

Sunflower field is free to visit and only $2 a stem to take some home. Bring your own cutters. They also have fantastic tacos and sandwhich deals all week long. Indoor and outdoor seating!

Used to be a huge champion of their pies, but when they shut down the former bakery business and gave it to someone else to run... well, it lost it's specialness. Hence, I NO LONGER AM a fan of their pies. Family and friends welcomed us to holiday tables with a Styer pie in hand- peach, apple, and strawberry rhubarb. Didn't matter as long as it was an ORIGINAL Styer pie. No more. Ahead of Thanksgiving, my wife decided we should order a "test" pie, in the rain I drove with hopes of a savory sweet fresh pie. I arrived picked up my bounty and drove home. After dinner, we tried the pie. Was burned around the edges, and the crust was hard in spots. So very SAD. The only redeeming part was the apple pie center that melted in your mouth. NOT WORTH the $15.99 price.

We had such a wonderful time at Styer Orchard for apple picking and the pumpkin field! I went with our 16-month old, and arrived first thing. They weren't busy at all yet and we had the place to ourselves, along with the friendly staff entertaining my daughter! We went mainly for apple picking - they have a checkin table and gave me a cute paper bag for kids as well as larger plastic that could carry 10 lb each. There was a free hayride out to the orchard, then we were able to wander - and the helpful staff gave us tips on the best trees and varieties to pick! After loading up, we took the hayride back to the main farm stand and I paid for our apples (by the pound) and dropped them at the car so we could load up on pumpkins. There is another hayride to the pumpkin patch, but we were already muddy so instead I snagged one of the plentiful wagons to choose pumpkins from the farm stand. There were so many varieties I i'd never heard of, all well labeled! Plus they sell edible squash - acorn, butternut, spaghetti, delicata, and a couple more varieties I hadn't even heard of. We go apple picking every year and each time choose a different spot - Styer is our favorite so far and we'll probably be heading back next year!

If you're in the market for pumpkins then come here first. Of all the farms in the area they have the best prices on pumpkins of all sizes, and they carry a wide selection to boot. Otherwise, this is a small orchard that I have a love/hate relationship with. It's always crowded in the autumn, and fighting against the crowds is exhausting. I do like their small corn maze, but keep in mind it is an additional cost. I'm not impressed with their apple picking though, but perhaps I didn't pick the right variety. Their golden delicious yields were not appealing. In addition, the pumpkin patch they offer is small and generic, but at least the tractor ride out to the fields is free. Their farm store is open year round and I do enjoy shopping there. They have hot and cold apple cider, pies and pastries of all kinds, ice cream and many other offerings. Just avoid this place in the fall, since it garners such a huge crowd and becomes a huge headache.

My favorite spot for fruit picking, and also one of the most affordable. They raised the prices recently, but still a great bargain. They give you a pail at the beginning, and then you wait outside for the wagon to come around. And then they give you a ride to the Peach Trees, which are absolutely delicious. The apples aren't too bad either.

Styer Orchard is a nice place to pick peaches and apples. They have some unique varieties of apples which are available various times. There are free tractor rides to take you to each place. Kids love them. They're also different spots where you can take pictures next to antique tractors. Styer orchard also has other produce available for picking, such as eggplant and tomatoes. There is a store in the front of the orchard which sells various vegetables and things; all of which are NOT from the orchard. I personally do not recommend picking pumpkins here. There are other pick your own pumpkin farms with live bands playing, and greater varieties of pumpkins. In addition, this pumpkin field does not have games for kids or a petting zoo like some others do in the fall.

Styers is such a fun spot for eaither apple or pumpkin picking. So much to do hear. Your pumpkin or apple ride is free. Pick at your own risk. And Pay when you get back. The apples are so good and fresh. It's worth getting then going to your local Super market. It's great for a day family event. With Halloween activities all over to do. Like the corn maze, all the employees are so nice and friendly.. You can come hear and leave with so much fruits and veggies and want to come back for more. Remmber when leaving to stop in the market to get your fresh cakes and donuts for such reasonable prices.

My haul: Cinderella pumpkin, spaghetti squash, delicata squash, kobucha squash, Fuji/Braeburn apples

FREE entry and FREE hay rides to the apple/pumpkin picking area + yummy selections + pay by the pound, not bag = what more could you want from an orchard? As someone who has never gone apple or pumpkin picking before, this was a wonderful place to go to for my first experience. Before going, I did a relatively extensive search of places within 30 minutes of Philadelphia and this is really the only orchard I saw that offered free entry/hay rides/pay by the pound (which appealed to me, because I didn't think I would be buying a lot of apples). The experience itself didn't disappoint. I went on a Sunday at around noon and was able to get around everywhere very efficiently. The employees were also happy to help explain different types of pumpkins to me. The grounds are also pretty nice (there's a small pond near the apple picking area) and the apples themselves were so crispy and tart! I've since used part of my Cinderella pumpkin to make pumpkin soup and it was also delicious. This place is priced really well -- $1.49/lb for apples and $0.69/lb for most pumpkins and squashes. Although I came for the experience I have come away with a newfound appreciation for freshly picked produce and will be back!

A tisket, a tasket, I got my little basket... Yesterday, hubby wanted grilled barbecued chicken, baked potatoes and corn on the cob. This may sound funky to most, but we keep a second toaster oven in our garage for things like two baked potatoes on a hot summer day. This is one of my favorite places to stop for fresh fruit and produce. Knowing I had errands to run in the area anyway, I love any excuse to stop by Styers and corn was on my agenda. Check it out! The plums were so plump and the peaches were so lush, ripe and beautiful, I had to buy a small basket of them. The heirloom tomatoes are always my favorites, so into the basket they go! Needless to say, by the time I was done eyeing up all the fresh fruit and veggies, plus I replenished my supply of dill and basil, I left with much more than corn. Picking your own fruit and veggies is less expensive, if you have the time. I did not ask how much the corn was if you picked it yourself, but last year it was twenty cents an ear. I was thrilled to see what they had out was bread and butter corn, which I have not had in awhile. The husks were as fresh and as tight as could be. This is one family of farmer's and I hate to quibble over prices, especially when I love their freshly picked products. I had eight ears of corn for four dollars or fifty cents per ear. Then I noticed a sign for a dozen ears of corn for the same four dollars. I was already paying, this was not mentioned to me, but I said, "on my way out, I will be taking four more ears of corn". Still beating myself up, whether I really needed those other four ears of corn out of principal, because maybe I should have just allowed them to reap the profits. If you have a few hours and want to spend it "farming" with your kids, this is a great place to be. It's kind of cool and like having your own orchard and garden. I almost forgot to give you my tip on cooking corn perfectly. When I lived south of Boston, I used to love to read the handy tips in the Boston Globe and their results for the best recipes or ways to cook certain foods. James Beard's way of cooking corn won hands down and I have been doing it since. Corn is never over cooked or gummy, always crisp and delicious. Place your shucked corn into a pot filled with cold water. DO NOT add salt, it toughens the corn. At med to med-high heat, with a lid on, but cocked, heat your water to a boil. The minute it comes to a boil turn it off, let it sit no longer, with lid on, than two minutes. It comes out perfect every time. For perfect baked potatoes, pierce it with a small knife only once and bake one hour at 400 degrees, perfectly bakes a large baked potato. Lately I have been using oil, sea salt and garlic on the outsides of the skins and we both enjoy the flavor that does go into the potato.

If heard of Shady Brooks light show and has never been myself - neither had my boyfriend - so it was the first time for all of us. We paid in advance online and there was luckily a discount so we only paid $25 per car instead of the original listed price of $45 per vehicle. It's was about a 40 minute drive for us coming from the city and we luckily didn't have any traffic on our way there or back. When turning into their site, they had signs to direct you to the lanes/area to drive through the light show. Once we got to that area, we drove up to the booth so they can scan our ticket, handed us a newspaper/booklet to go with it, and we were on our way! The light displays, concepts and sections (e.g. "12 Days of Christmas" with 12 displays of drummers drumming) were very well done. Our little one loveeeeedd it - except for the Grinch of course because, he's the Grinch lol. It wasn't a short drive through but not too long either. Once we finished the light show, we did park and got out to take a quick look at what else was going on and get a lay of the land. Would definitely recommend checking this out for the holidays and we would come back to check out the playground for her, wagon rides, etc.

Rose Bridge is a sanctuary and working farm on land once owned by William Penn. Since 2013, the farm has become a 'forever home' for over 300 animals. Many of the animals are rescues from dairy farms, livestock auctions or other scenarios where they were at risk. They have several different activities, we opted for the Farm Fest, which combined several of the activities. The Farm Fest includes a mini farm animal husbandry tour, baby animal cuddling time, hands on craft activity, a beverage bar and an outdoor fire pit. It lasts about 2 hours. There were many parents there with children, but also adults like us by themselves. There are two times - 4-6 and 6:30-8:30. We went on the 4:00 tour. It was great! It was very interesting hearing how the animals came to the farm - it was so heartwarming to hear the stories of saving so many animals. However, I wasn't expecting the 'cuddling time' to be so much fun. We started with the goats - so friendly! They were nuzzling and 'pawing' us - I sat down and several came to me and wanted to be rubbed or held. I even had an opportunity to feed a baby goat its milk bottle! We interacted with pigs, sheep, a beautiful thoroughbred horse and a donkey! It was a very special experience! Afterwards we all went to a large barn and made crafts - specifically little planters we decorated, added dirt and seeds (large selection of flowers and vegetables seeds) to take home as a little souvenir. We had a dinner reservation so we left before the fire pit activity. Overall, it was a wonderful experience to be with these farm animals and to support such a worthwhile project.
