My visit today made my heart sink as it was the middle of a Saturday and the parking lot was empty. We grabbed some burgers and ate at the indoor picnic table in the empty market. The burgers were great and the price even better. Real hand formed perfectly cooked patties juicy and overloading the bun. We went back later in the week to check out their breakfast and they knocked that out of the park as well. No skimpy breakfast sandwiches here. Pork roll and cheese piled high on a fresh Kaiser roll did not disappoint. The staff was primarily younger but understood good work ethic, and you could tell took prince in what they were serving. I am hoping it was a fluke that it was not as crowded as in the past because a generational cornerstone like Steyer Orchard is a treasure. Stop in and see them. Open daily.

They actually had a bag of six ornaments and so I purchased that and some pumpkin bread and a mini breakfast cinnamon crumb cake ! Very excited to see how people enjoy it all !! The staff at the register were absolutely so nice and helpful. I'm so happy

For the fall, the market was so well decorated with colorful squash and pumpkins beautifully laid out. They also have a large fenced in are for chickens. We watched the head rooster chase around the others in the pen. Inside the small farm store, they had seasonal local vegetables and eggs. The eggs were dated to indicate that they were laid that day, and they are $5.50 a dozen or $10.50 for two dozen. Can't get any fresher than that! Their website indicated that they sell chicken twice a year, although there was no indication inside the store regarding that. Most items are marked, but there were several variety of tomatoes that were not specifically priced. I wanted some tomatoes but I didn't get any because I didn't know the price. It is a self service honor system, with a cash box. Make a stop here if you are in the area!

This year, I ordered my Thanksgiving Turkey from them. The turkey was not cheap, and sure I could have bought a 99c/pound turkey at Costco, but what's in that turkey? I really wanted to serve something I knew would not be full of hormones. Let me tell you, 20 people at my table agreed without a doubt that it was the best tasting turkey they have ever had. Even the shape of the turkey was different. It walked around happily all summer long. There was no oversized breast weighting it down. Lots of tasty dark meat. The turkey was butchered and cleaned very nicely I would say. The ease of ordering and pick up was unparalleled. I chatted with the owner, who is very sweat and cares so much about what she puts out on the farm. Thank you Milk House Farm! Your first year raising turkeys was a huge success!!

If heard of Shady Brooks light show and has never been myself - neither had my boyfriend - so it was the first time for all of us. We paid in advance online and there was luckily a discount so we only paid $25 per car instead of the original listed price of $45 per vehicle. It's was about a 40 minute drive for us coming from the city and we luckily didn't have any traffic on our way there or back. When turning into their site, they had signs to direct you to the lanes/area to drive through the light show. Once we got to that area, we drove up to the booth so they can scan our ticket, handed us a newspaper/booklet to go with it, and we were on our way! The light displays, concepts and sections (e.g. "12 Days of Christmas" with 12 displays of drummers drumming) were very well done. Our little one loveeeeedd it - except for the Grinch of course because, he's the Grinch lol. It wasn't a short drive through but not too long either. Once we finished the light show, we did park and got out to take a quick look at what else was going on and get a lay of the land. Would definitely recommend checking this out for the holidays and we would come back to check out the playground for her, wagon rides, etc.

There are over…read more50 vendors from regional producers, bringing baked goods, coffee and tea, flowers, candles, herbs & spices, condiments, meats and charcuterie, dairy and cheeses, all sorts of seasonal fruits and vegetables, bath and beauty items, specialty foods like honey, kimchi, wine & beer. There's also a section of local artists selling things like tshirts, knickknacks, art pieces like paintings and collages. Regardless if I buy anything, I just love walking around the market looking at all the fresh, colorful produce, thinking of what delicious dishes could be made from the plethora of ingredients. Many top restaurants in the city book directly with vendors here, which says something about the quality of the products. Still open Mon, Wed, Fri & Sat. Usually the most vendors on Saturday I think. From 8am to 6pm, though on certain days depending on weather some vendors might start taking down their stands earlier. For more info: https://www.grownyc.org/greenmarket/manhattan-union-square-sa

The vibe is always a lot of fun and classic staple to the city.
