I'm not one to leave reviews, but I feel this needs to be said.
I took my truck to this shop because I had a coolant leak. I brought him a part that I thought could possibly be the issue, just in case. He replaced that part and then added two other parts without letting me know beforehand. I didn't think much of it at the time because I was told the coolant was leaking from each of those parts.
In total, I ended up paying around $1,700 in parts and labor.
The very next day after picking up my truck, I noticed it was leaking again. I took it back the same day, and he told me what the issue was and replaced another part.
Two days later, I noticed coolant was still coming down around my coolant reservoir tank. At that point, I decided to take the truck to another shop to get a second opinion and find the actual source of the leak.
The second shop determined that the coolant was leaking from the water pump. Based on their inspection, the parts that were previously replaced were not the source of the leak and did not need to be replaced.
My issue is that I paid approximately $1,700 for parts and labor, and the original coolant leak was still there. I understand that diagnosing a leak can sometimes be difficult, but I believe customers should be informed before additional parts are replaced and charged for, especially when those repairs do not resolve the original problem. read more
