Randy, who I believe is the owner, is very conservative in what work needs to be done while still ensuring everything looks perfect, and his shop runs a very fair business in terms of value. I highly recommend this shop; do understand they are BUSY, and so repairs will likely take a little extra longer. The work is wonderful though and I would definitely come here again.

I would strongly recommend taking your car somewhere else…read more Prior to going to The German Car Shoppe, I had only ever serviced my car at the dealership. I decided to try a local shop and support a local business, and unfortunately, I regret that decision. The first time I brought my car in was for a checkup on my brakes. Keep in mind, my car had been thoroughly evaluated at the dealership just two months earlier, and I had already paid for and completed several of the services they were recommending. The dealership does not report completed repairs to Kelley Blue Book, so I explained to The German Car Shoppe that this was why those repairs were not showing up in the vehicle history. Rather than taking my word for it, they continued trying to sell me over $6,000 in additional services, including work I had already had completed at the dealership only two months prior. I declined these recommendations multiple times -- three times, in fact -- before they finally accepted that I was saying no. Two months later, I brought my car back for an oil change. Once again, they called me with another $5,700 worth of recommended services. I explained again that many of these items had already been addressed at the dealership and declined the additional work. They still would not take no for an answer. I received three separate calls trying to upsell me, and the way I was spoken to was condescending and dismissive. Eventually, I had a male representative take over the phone and tell them no. Interestingly, when a man said the exact same thing I had already said, they immediately listened. That experience was extremely frustrating and, frankly, made me feel like I was being talked down to and pressured because I am a woman. Then, about a week later, I had a tire pop after very lightly nicking a curb at approximately 7 mph. The tire was less than a year old. I called several places to get a quote for replacing the one tire, and The German Car Shoppe quoted me approximately $430. I agreed to have them replace it. Immediately before the tire was supposed to be replaced, they called and told me that the cost was actually going to be approximately $700 because they required an alignment. My issue is not necessarily that an alignment was recommended -- my issue is that I specifically called, explained exactly what had happened, and asked for a quote for the tire, and I was given a price that did not include this additional charge. If an alignment was required as part of the repair, that should have been communicated upfront. At this point, I finally called them out directly on the pattern of behavior I had experienced. Rather than having a professional conversation or taking responsibility for the way I had been treated, the representative became extremely defensive and ultimately hung up on me. What is most telling to me is that throughout all of these interactions, I tried to be reasonable and gave them multiple opportunities to simply listen when I said no. The one time I was firm and directly called them out on their behavior, I was treated terribly. Between the repeated upselling, the condescending communication, the difference in how they responded when a male spoke to them, and the lack of transparency around the tire repair, I no longer trust this business with my car. And for what it's worth, after spending thousands of dollars at a shop, I would also expect a little more attention to customer service -- they don't even bother to clean your car afterward. I genuinely wanted to support a local business. Unfortunately, my experience with The German Car Shoppe left me feeling like they were trying to take advantage of me rather than earn my business. Save yourself the headache and take your car somewhere else.

The best part, which took me by total surprise, was a follow-up call to see how the car was doing and if I had any problems or questions the next day.. Wait what??? I've been a car enthusiast for as long as I can remember but after moving to littleton I didn't have the nice large garage to work out of so spent months bouncing around from mechanic to mechanic when I finally decided to call up Tom. Tom picked me up after work, drove me back to the shop and explained everything he did, even let me look at the car on the lift to make sure I was happy. We end up standing around for another 30-40 minutes just talking about cars and Tom is an enthusiast through and through with a real passion for cars. I'd love to see this place expand and become the place for all cars, regular and performance to come through. From fluids, to performance parts you'll get good work here at a fair price,(and here's the most important part) knowing the guy wrenching on your car cares as much as you do!
