If you're in downtown Boise, this is THE place for premium cigars! To preface, I am a very occasional occasional enjoyer of cigars... certainly no aficionado. However, this location is absolutely perfect everyone, from novices (such as myself) all the way up to the most discerning cigar smokers. To start, the walk-in humidor is very large and is well-stocked with an exceptional variety of cigars at every price point. Sturman's carries a diverse selection from top luxury brands such as Padrón, Perdomo, Dunbarton, Oliva, Ashton, and SO much more. Additionally, Sturman's has a great selection of affordable cigars for those on a tight budget. I must stress that all the cigars here, from individual sticks to full boxes, are VERY well-priced. Outside of cigars, the shop also has a solid selection of premium pipe tobacco. Leaving the humidor, the shop carries a choice selection of cigar and pipe hardware as well as accessories including lighters, cutters, punches, humidifiers, luxury humidors, ashtrays, handcrafted pipes, and so much more. Just like their cigar selection, Sturman's catalogue of accessories is highly diverse, ranging from affordable (but high-quality) options all the way up to premium hardware brands such as Xikar. Trust me, for all of your cigar needs, Sturman's is the spot to choose. While not as large as the lounges at the Sturman's locations in Eagle or Garden City, the lounge at the downtown location is still excellent. The indoor seating area is very comfortable. The four, leather chairs are comfy and the indoor seating area is extremely quiet, well air-conditioned, and equipped with fans and air purifiers making the overall smoking experience very pleasurable and relaxing. No lingering smoke here! On top of that, there's an outdoor seating area at the entrance of the shop with several cushioned chairs and a large ashtray for those who'd prefer to be outside. Lastly, it would be crime not to mention the store's desk clerk and tobacconist, Lance. Lance is incredibly friendly and exceptionally knowledgeable about cigars and hardware. I asked him what he would personally recommend for a medium to full body Maduro that wasn't too spicy or peppery. He immediately pointed me in the direction of the Leaf by Oscar Cigars, specifically in the 5 x 50 robusto size. This cigar was absolutely delectable and is most definitely my new favorite. Pairing this delicious cigar with the comfortable lounge made my time at Sturman's a delight! Lance was a lovely person to talk to while I was there and his enthusiastic dedication customer service elevated my already incredible experience. Whether you are looking for a quick stop for supplies or a welcoming place to relax and smoke a fine cigar, I can't recommend the Sturman's Smoke Shop in downtown Boise enough! read more

Always a pleasure to visit and chat with Lance. Exceptional selection with service. Sturman's is a must see when visiting Boise. read more

Nice hidden gem in downtown Boise. Decent selection of cigars to choose from in their walk in humidor. They offer a nice lounge area inside as well as outside seating to enjoy a smoke. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly. I happen to just be passing through but will definitely make a point to stop in on my next visit to the area. read more

Sales representative is very rude and condescending. It was my first time in Boise and I'd definitely recommend anything else.

Very friendly guy waited on me. Helped me find exactly what I wanted. Nice selection of cigars including foundation brand which I sometimes have difficulty finding. Decent prices, but I'm used to the high tobacco taxes in Atlanta, so maybe Idaho doesn't tax as much. read more

Great location and fantastic selection, a must see, well priced cigar shop. Fun patio in the summer. read more

Sturman's Smoke Shop - Tobacco Shops Near Me - Boise, Idaho

Just stopped into Sturmans today to wrap up some last minute Christmas shopping. Ryan immediately greeted me and asked how he could help me. He started out by asking me how much I wanted to spend and gave me an idea of how much a good cigar can typically range ($8-$13). I always appreciate it when a business puts a customers budget first, versus assuming or not even acknowledging that some may have a budget. I clearly had the 'deer in headlights' look since this is my husbands domain. But I was in good hands with Ryan. He efficiently picked out 4 cigars and explained the ratings or key differences between each of them. I can't wait for my husband to try Ryan's selections. Excellent customer service. I'll definitely be bringing my husband back to Sturman's. We are huge believers in supporting local businesses- and this is one to definitely support. read more

Fantastic little shop and lounge! Quaint, comfy, got my fav cigar in decent humidor selection! Manager Ryan excellent customer service and courteous. Can't wait to check out new shop opening up in April (so I'm told)! I'm from Vegas. I know a great cigar shop and lounge when I see one. read more

Great selection!! I stopped in for the first time today. It's been a long time since I've been in a shop with such a wide variety to choose from. I felt like a kid in a candy store, but sadly had to be an adult and leave with only a handful of cigars. Haha. Lance was very friendly and knowledgeable. I will definitely be back! read more

Was in there awhile back and liked what I bought. Had them ship me some stuff. Awesome!

Great place to hang out for a smoke with friends. My old stomping grounds. Great selection of cigars. Busy.

Fantastic service. Very friendly and knowledgeable. The best spot in Boise to learn, browse, and experience great cigars!

This shop bills itself as the best smoke shop in Idaho. I don't find much to disagree with that statement. With a generous humidor and a nice range of cigars and pipe tobacco, this is easily the best selection you'll find in the state, I believe. I bought my humidor there and many cigars, all great quality. The standing guarantee is that any cigars with a hard draw can be returned for a replacement, no questions asked. Great crew. read more

Excellent! Great selection and helpful recommendations from really helpful friendly folks, two thumbs up! They have a nice sized walk in humidor filled with nicely preserved cigars and pipe tobacco as well as a decent selection of accessories from trimmers to lighters to trimmers, they are your one stop shop read more

I came in on a Saturday and Lance was very helpful. I smoked outside on their sidewalk seats. Try a nitro cold brew coffee from the shop across the street. Bring it back and enjoy your coffee and cigar. Lance knows his stuff and can help you pick a great cigar if you're not sure what you want. They have a great selection and reasonable pricing. I'll be back. read more

I am a cigar smoker! If you are too this *is* the place for you in the grater Boise area! Period. Ryan is well versed about cigars and can help you navigate his sizable cigar inventory and find the perfect stick for your palate. He also hosts events with cigar manufacture and celebrities, not to mention the *deals* that come with those events! As a traveler I make a point to stop by any / all B&M where I am and this is a store well worth traveling for. read more

The best smoke shop I've found in Boise so far. I'm a pipe smoker, so I don't know about the cigars and other products but the selection looks pretty good. They have some good tobaccos. I wish they had some more "loose" tobaccos instead of just mainly prepackaged bags. When I lived in Virginia there was a shop where you could say "give me about 5 oz. of this and 6 oz. of that and mix them together" and they would accommodate. Again, I know that might be a little nit-picking, but these reviews are meant to give suggestions...not just blow sunshine. read more

I used to be a regular when the shop was owned by Mark, the current owner's father. My family lives in Boise, so I still make it there often. I loved the shop before, but it's only gotten better. Ryan, the new owner, has elevated it: improved seating, a greater selection of boutique cigars, and amazing service. read more

My husband loves this shop. Enjoys the knowledgable staff and selection. Enjoys going in or sitting out on the patio to enjoy a cigar. Large selection of cigars in the humidor rooms and cigar associated products in the entry area. read more

This has been my go-to cigar shop since 1998. For many years I enjoyed a beer and a cigar with one of my coworkers and i always went there to get the cigars. The selection of cigars is awesome, from mild to strong, from short to long and for low to high prices. Since the remodel you can lounge in of those four leather chairs and smoke a cigar right in the shop and meet other cigar lovers. If you are looking for a gift and don't know what cigar to buy, Ryan, the owner, will help you find the perfect cigar for your loved one. Winter are cold, so, if you want to smoke indoors, go there. read more

Best Cigars Shop in the State!!! Hands down, no other shop compares to the selection and quality of Cigars sold at Sturman's. I have been buying cigars for 10 years from this shop and never had a problem, not to mention if you get a cigar that doesn't draw nice do to a plug or being tight they will replace it with another. So go try them out you won't be sorry. read more

Helpful staff, and an incredible selection of cigars. Im looking forward to going back.

This is the only place to go for a cigar in Boise. Great selection, great service. I always stop by when in Boise

Best humidor and selection of cigars that I found in downtown Boise. They carry a lot of good Perdomos and other well known brands at reasonable prices. The selection of accessories is also good. I buy most of my cigars in Florida and these were only $1 to $2 more for the same cigar in Florida. They had the LFD Bull which surprised me. There is not much room for sitting down to enjoy a smoke and they don't have adult beverages or drinks but there are some bars with outdor sitting areas close by. The sales associate recommended an Illusion Epernay and at $11 it was a pretty sad, very mediocre cigar. It reminded me of a fake Cuban. I did tell him I was from out of town. The take away is buy what you know but don't take their recommendations. Otherwise this is probably the best one can do in Boise. read more

I agree with (at least three) other Yelpers. Sturman's is the ONLY place in Boise to buy tobacco. In my experience, employees have always been friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. As something of a newbie cigar smoker, I really, really appreciate the table in the middle of the walk-in humi; it features awesome cigars at very affordable prices, making it my go-to every time. Plan to bring my father in-law, the connoseiur, here the next time he's in town. I'd say you could do much worse, but in Boise, is there really any better? Not that I've found. This is absolutely the best for cigars, with plenty of other merch (cutters, torches, pipes, cigarillos, lighter fluid, propylene glycol, humi pucks, etc.). read more

Great Cigar shop. Ryan was helpful and knowledgeable. The cigar selection is wonderful and their return policy is outstanding. Only place in Boise to shop cigars! read more

I buy a cigar here every time I come to Boise.

Have been coming here for years. Always greater when I walk in and a little small talk. Was gone for over a year and when I cam back I got the "where have u been" and it's not like I but 100's of cigars maybe 1 a month soul that just goes with how awesome this place is. Amazing selection always a very good variety and tons to look at and always there to answer your questions if you have any. Do yourself a favor a swing in for a smoke. read more

Although the selection is limited, the offered cigars and pipe tobaccos are superb! The recommendations from the shop keeper helped me decide on which ones to buy, since it's been a while since I've bought different cigars. If you're in the Boise area and enjoy cigars or pipes, this is a place worth checking out! read more

Was in visiting my son and daughter-in-law for first trip to Boise. Stopped in to see if the hype was worth it: no. Bought three $14 cigars and travel case. Cigars very dry and started to unwrap as they smoked down. Humidity set way too low in humidor room and noticed it when I stepped in. Big letdown: don't believe your own hype, Sturman's. Will try again if I ever fly in but... read more

I was one of the coolest experiences I've had walking into a store on something I have not the faintest idea about. We had some friends coming into town for the holiday weekend who are cigar connoisseurs and we thought it would be fun to surprise them with a little assortment. But where to go when you know nothing about it?? Why Yelp of course!! After visiting Sturman's Smoke Shop I can plainly see why they have such a high rating on Yelp. Ryan who is a second generation owner knows his stuff and he was all to happy to show us around and help to explain this new world to us. He took us to the humidity room and explained everything from A to Z. He had some great suggestions and works with your budget which I think we ended up breaking the budget but our fault not his. Hahaha. He also helped us to navigate the flavored cigars and noted to me which ones his wife liked best and in order of preference!! Hello can you say chocolate mocha latte flavored??? And cognac berry flavored??? Ladies you need to come outta your shell and try this experience if at least only to check it off your bucket list. Great customer service, product, price and overall experience!! I highly recommend this place because I am the queen!! ;-) read more

Sturman's Smoke Shop is so rude. I tried to call the shop and buy their cigars and they kept accusing me of being a telemarketer and hung up on me twice. They missed out on selling a lot of cigars and will never again receive our business. read more

Holy cow, this place has a lot of cigars! Amazing selection of really choice cigars and the prices were totally reasonable. Excellent service from the gentleman I assume to be the owner. He welcomed me in and let me browse around while making sure I knew that he was available to answer questions. These kind of establishments are hard to find. I will certainly be back next time I find myself in Boise. read more

Easily the best cigar shop in the region. Great selection and wise owners. I've been to places all over the Northwest and many other big city's and there selection is as good as any. Highly recommended. read more

How could you have anything bad to say about this store? This is the finest tobacco store I have ever had the pleasure of visiting. The owner is really nice, and more than a bit passionate about fine tobbacco, and he has great prices. I'm a pipe smoker, and only buy my pipes, and tobbacco from Sturmans, and will continue always. Support small business! I love this shop so much, that I stock up on pipe tobacco whenever I leave town, just so I don't have to shop elsewhere. nuff said. read more

No Better As far as pipe and tobacco shops in all of Idaho. I have made multiple purchases and each time I wonder why cant every store treat customers like Sturmans does. read more
