Read numerous reviews so decided I'd give them a try. Their ad states thy offer carryout. I wonder how well that works when they DON"T answer the phone. I'd attempted to reach them numerous times over the course of a half hour. I figure if they can't answer the phone, they are unlikely to make a good pizza. f places offer pizza. Tried this place for the first time last night. My friend and l ate the exact same meal. Our husband's had two other different meals. The husband's are both fine. My friend and l are both quite sick. Something was not handled properly or cleanly, or was spoiled. The sour cream l had on my baked potato was definitely spoiled, and after initially trying it, l left the rest on my plate. She didn't have the sour cream on her potato, so it was some other item of the meal. It was dimly lit, but enough light that l could see that the Cabbage in the Cole Slaw was off-color, so l didn't eat it. Which leaves either the baked fish, minestrone soup, or family salad/dressing that she and l shared. I am not a review writer. This is only my second review ever. But l do not recommend. read more

Ordered takeout from here. They must have put the styrofoam container for the second order on top of the first order when they spooned in the noodles directly from the pot... the container didn't hold up, bag was full of sauce and noodles tasted like styrofoam. The red sauce tasted like tomato paste. Cannoli was grainy and bland. I'll try any place twice but this was not a very good first impression read more

We waited an hour and fifteen minutes for a 12 inch thin crust pizza and mostaccioli dinner. Waitress (owner's wife) forgot several things and was so extremely slow. Food was mediocre. The only positive was the food was very hot. Will not be going back. read more

I took my family to Sturinos for dinner tonight. Lived here all my life and never went there. Thought it was a bar only. They have some wonderful Italian food. The Tour of Italy for two is amazing. So much food! We had lasagna, gnocchi, bruschetta and meatballs. My kids had chicken parmesean, mostaccoli, spinach artichoke dip and pizza! It was all hot and amazing. The waitress was sweet and attentive. We will definitely go back. We had a ton of leftovers to take home. The place had seating for about 12 or 15 tables. So quaint. Check it out. read more

Warning: Extremely slow service!! There were only two tables for a total of four people in the restaurant the time we were there. It took one-hour to get our food. I only have 30 minutes for lunch. Worse, they have no lunch specials, so lunch will run $20-$25 for sub-par food. I ordered a pasta dish with Italian sausage. The pasta was al dente, but the sauce had an odd, sour flavor and the Italian sausage was cold and undercooked - utterly inedible! To make matters worse, they put cheap, dry, oregano on my sauce - which I did not ask for - and I was later picking pieces out of my mouth for the better part of the afternoon. In addition to the bad food the service was uncommonly bad. There was only one waitress - who was nice enough - but she does not understand service. Really, don't waste your time here. Back in day, when it was Sturino's, my exhusband took me there (probably early 80's). The food was excellent and the ambiance was fantastic. I still remember the mushrooms sizzling in the small iron skillet brought to the table. I look forward to going back to give it a try. I ordered a thin crust pizza with sausage, pepperoni, mushroom, onion, and black olives. The crust was light and crispy. The sauce to ingredient ratio was perfect. Overall, the pizza was very good. I went there to pick it up and saw the outdoor seating on the patio! I'm definitely going back to sit outside and enjoy cocktails on the patio with friends. I think this place is a kind of hidden gem. It's difficult to find good Italian food in the Midwest sometimes and this is one of the few places from which I will order pizza. We had a thin crust cheese and mushroom pizza. It was hot and gooey. We had two drinks and a soda. The place only had two people at the bar and our party of two. Later four men came in. I saw a man at the bar eating Gnocchi. He said they are his favorite and homemade. It could use an update. I will go back to try other items. Food was excellent. Sturino's has the best vegetable soup and any soup they serve is amazing. The homemade lasagna and sauce is addicting. I never tried their pizza but while waiting for my food another customer said he is a regular and they have the best pizza. Highly recommend Sturino's. The place was a lot of fun. Unpretentious good food and the owner was very attentive. The place could use some remodeling, and it is having some initial growing pains with staff that could use more training, but when the owner comes out and passionately tells you about his business and truly wants to make it a great dining experience for you, it makes for a nice evening. Not a lot of fancy libations, but the prices reflect that. If you have ever traveled to Italy and ate at family restaurants in small towns, this place is very reminiscent of that. We are definitely going back and are going to bring friends as well. read more

I went there, but NEVER AGAIN! Sat at the side bar and shocked to see old, torn bar stools, even the tape patching was torn and stuffing showing. The walls were a dingy yellow as if not painted since smoking allowed in businesses. After several minutes without being acknowledged I moved to the center of the bar and still waited. Meanwhile another couple seated at bar left, having waited & no service. There was only 1 server and she seemed clueless. When finally got her attention I asked for a menu & she pushed a table topper to me which only showed beverages and apps. Soda was $2 a can and no refills and wasn't even brand name. I again asked for a menu was told it was on the chalk board upon entering. I told her it was mostly erased and not that legible. Meanwhile a couple both complained that their ravioli wasn't cooked enough and she took back to the cook, He came out of kitchen. He wasn't in agreement and had attitude.The waitress stood holding the food again looking clueless. Meanwhile another table was trying to get waitresses attention with no luck. I left. Their ad says in business "since 1968" when in fact it hasn't been a restaurant for decades as Diane's Place was there and recently closed. THAT'S FALSE ADVERTISING! I should have realized it wasn't a good place as there were only 2 cars in lot at meal time. I've always been told if no car's at a place then avoid it. I live right around there and don't see cars there, even on Mother's Day, again at meal time, there were NO cars there except 1 in back while another turned around in lot and left while the Italian restaurant just north was full. There are so many Italian restaurants in Kenosha where you can get good quality food in a nice environment I feel this place will not last long. read more
