    Long Island Ice Teas

Recommended from the charter boat captain (friend of mine) so I know he wasn't about to steer me wrong. He recommended the perch buster sandwich. Him knowing my love for the yellow perch, I was ordering this for sure. I ordered the coleslaw due to my ability to gain weight like Warren Buffet makes money. The food came out piping hot, and fresh. The perch was fresh and absolutely delicious. The wife had the same, with the fries, and we both had a long island ice tea. They even had a diet version (guess who got that one)!! We were so impressed, we ordered the walleye fingers on top, after we ate the sandwiches. Another banger and must get. Hell, I even liked the tartar sauce. I wish I lived closer to this place!!! On a side bar, they smoke fish that you catch and that is out of this world!! I had some of our catch done, and it was excellent. All around great place. Clean, great food, friendly service and it brings back my old childhood memories of living in K-Town.

    Baked shrimp & Brie

Highly recommended!!! Everyone in our group. Had a little bit of somethings a Ruben sweet potatoe fries! the COD fried (good on Thursdays and Friday) with potato pancake, Patty melt with potato pancakes, chili and side salad with French dressing, all the baked shrimp and Brie was great!!! The staff was wonderful!!! Our server Michael took exception care of us ! Hats off to this wonderful crew!

    Restroom in progress

It's sort of silly to give five stars because we each just had a cocktail and a bowl of chili, but we had such a good time. Loved the feel of the place- warm and neighborhoody. The chili was really good, so was the Manhattan. Our server was kind, patient and fun. We had a pretty good laugh about the restroom, we understand that it's in progress, and appreciate that at some point there will be more than one stall. None of us could use either of the mirrors- we're way too short, but, the fish design was artsy- not useful, but creative all the same.

Shore lunch was awesome. Blacken and fried.

Be aware that the kitchen closes 1 hour before the bar closes. Menu looks good, just plan accordingly.

While the food is absolutely delicious, be aware the 3 out of 4 times, when calling in for take out order, they get it wrong.

It happened to be an earlier dinner, so we got the "Happy Hour" menu along with the standard menu. Our server was Mariella "Mari." She was attentive and kind. She was quick, and the whole visit was perfect. We started with the sliders. They come 2 each per order. We chose the meatball slider and Smash slider. When these arrived, we shared 1 each of the slider types. But, much to our surprise, these sliders are more like a full-size burger. We both really enjoyed the Smash Burger more. We followed that with a Pinsas each. He ordered the cheesy garlic, and I ordered the Caprese. Both were good, but the Caprese was better and topped with so much goodness. There are several tables inside and outside for dining as well as a small parking lot and street parking. There is a full bar, although we only ordered water. The lighting is a bit dim, but not too bad. There are several TV. The entrance doesn't have steps. Rather hip spot to check out.

However, you can also drive North, into Wisconsin, which is just 40 minutes North. We like to shop at Pleasant Prairie Outlet and after shopping for about five (5) hours, you will get really hungry. Hence, we almost always visit Tenuta's because there isn't quite anything like it by me. But that's a different review... I say all that to say, after getting Italian meatballs, cookies, and Cannolis from Tenuta's, you will immediately notice Ron's Place, right across the street!! They have a local and dedicated following. Yes, you will see Green Bay Packers decorations and people in Packers clothing, gasp!! But!! Their burgers are incredible and so are the cheese curds. They are also known for their Long Island teas but it's kinda early for me when I come here. Check out my pics - I always get the cheese curds, chicken strips, I've switched it up from time to time with my burger selection. Today, we got the extreme burger and it's definitely shareable, it's a gigantic double patty cheeseburger (I selected American cheese). Great service, cool & local Vibes, diners are usually talking shop, the people sitting next to you will be catching up and talkin about Jack and Diane. You can look directly into the open kitchen and see them preparing the great plates of food. Look at the pics on the wall and you will see a pic of McMahon in Packer uniform - the Packers won the Super Bowl that year...sigh...

The fish was ok- the pieces I had were full of bones, and wasn't that great. The fries were good, the coleslaw was good as well. The cheese curds were decent, but they don't give you a lot. It was a weeknight, but the street we were driving up to get here was a little dark and run down. But don't let that deter you. They have a nice sized parking lot for their location. Then we walked inside and found a narrow room with a bar running the length of one long wall and counter height tables and chairs perpendicular to the opposite wall. They really jammed in as much as they could in the space that they have. The ambience was dark and moody. They were playing hard rock and the bar had a couple of regulars sitting inside. At the end of the bar at the far end, was a cubicle of a kitchen. That's where the magic happens. Their menu is simple: appetizers, burgers, and build your own burgers. That's it. We all built our own burgers and they have a LOT of options. However, the build your own may start at $9, but each topping adds to the cost. But who cares? The burgers were phenomenal! Their website clearly states, "Best burgers, ever." And they're not wrong. The burgers were juicy, flavorful, and delicious. Probably one of the best burgers I have ever had. And everything is made in this tiny area at the end of the bar. We were the only people in the place after about 20 minutes, but again, who cares. The staff were extremely friendly. Their playful banter and bickering when they cleaned up was hilarious to listen to, and they were lovely to talk to as well. One of our group wanted to pick up some Spotted Cow beer (you can't get it in Illinois) and asked about a place to get it nearby. They suggested Shenanigan's with a drive-through just a couple blocks away. We have to make another trek back. They are awesome and their burgers are great, too!
