So beautifully curated. Parking in back. Plant prices are comparable to other city locations, it is the ceramics that get you! Friendly and knowledgeable staff!

Fiddle leaf fig that they replanted in my other at checkout!

Great service and products! Loving all my new plant babies that came along with a little info card to ensure their proper care. Customer service at Stump is awesome - especially that if you bring your own planter they'll plant your new plant that you just purchased in it for free. The quality of the plants is great for a good price! Purchased two succulents and a cactus about 6 months ago and they're still going strong. Just bought a small fiddle leaf that I look forward to watching grow. Overall awesome experience shopping here and they've convinced me that everyone should have a little green in their space!

These are the two plants I bought, along with the care cards they send home with you.

This is a lovely plant shop, the atmosphere is chill and cool. The people who work there are knowledgeable and can help you find the plant you want, they also send you home with a care card for your plant! That is awesome since it leaves you with no worries on caring for the plant that you buy. It's hard to find parking but it's definitely worth the struggle.

    Pretty but too expensive

I was super excited to visit this place while I was in town the other day but it didn't meet my expectations at all. I walked up and contemplated the lack of curb appeal since I almost drove right past it. The building is painted a dreary black with no advertising. There is a "STUMP" sign super high up but it's dark brown and blends in! As I walked in, I was kindly greeted with a smile and was offered some help which was nice, but I couldn't talk myself into buying anything since every item was priced so high. The plants are beautiful and well taken care of but you can find the same product at a Lowe's for way cheaper. They also have a ton of "sold" signs on their plants and it's still displayed for other customers, which doesn't seem fair. I can somewhat understand since it's kind of a small store, but move the purchased item to a different part of the building or ask the customer to take it with them. This place also doesn't have any parking, and if it does it's impossible to find! I had to park in a tow away zone across the street and take a chance. I wish this store actively had sales, that would convince me not walk out empty handed or at least to revisit, but for now I don't think I will.

Amazing selection of plants with associates that are super knowledgeable about the care of each plant. I have purchased many plants from various STUMP locations over the last few years and all of them are thriving! Prices are very reasonable too!

Snake plant that I brought home :D

I was looking for new places to find some plants for my apartment and actually found STUMP from yelp. It's in a little house off of 5th Ave, which is really cute. The parking is a little funky, you have to go past the house, and turn into a driveway then drive back behind some houses to get to the parking lot. We got there about a half an hour before they opened, so we decided to look in the windows just to check it out and come back another time. However, one of the girls working there saw us and invited us in. They were putting everything out to display and watering all the plants, but didn't seem to mind having us there. The variety of plants was awesome, and I believe all of them were indoor plants. I saw a little green house when I was leaving, so I'm wondering if they have outdoor plants during warmer weather? The inside of the house was gorgeous, all the plants were in great shape and the people working there were very knowledgeable and you could tell they really liked talking about the different plants and how to care for them. I ended up buying one of their big Snake Plants which I thought was reasonably priced for how big it was and how nice of a pot it was in. They have a really cool little selection of different pots you can buy, and the told me if you really like a certain pot that doesn't come with the plant you buy, they are able to swap them out. I needed a small pot and soil for a Christmas Cactus snipping I am trying to propagate. I am very new to the plant world and have no idea what I am doing so I asked them for help on how to make sure I don't kill my cactus. They were more than happy to talk to me about it and gave me a lot of good tips and tricks. Once they knew what kind of plant I was trying to propagate, they told me they would fill my pot with stones and soil mixed with sand, which would be ideal for my little cactus. I will definitely be back because I want ALL of their plants, and I'm sure I'm going to need another lesson on plant care in the near future as well :/

Cute Christmas lights on the trees!

I recently lost my father and was gifted this peace lily from his funeral. I successfully killed it in the matter of a couple weeks. I took my sad plant to their little shop explained what was going on and how much this plant meant to me. He showed me what pot to buy (which I knew I was gonna need) and they repotted it for free with the purchase of the ceramic pot with drip tray. Gave me a quick plant lesson on how to care for it and sent me on my way. It's officially 6 months later and my peace lily has now bloomed and is thriving. There aren't enough stars to give or kind words in the world to say about this company. They really truly have something special going for them. Thank you Plant Gays

David, the owner is helpful and good at helping you pick out the right plant for the right lighting, plus he explains how to keep plants alive (which I am so very bad at-but getting better with his help!) Learned he even makes some of his own pots. Which is so cool! Plants were reasonably priced. The two I purchased were about 17 bucks. The pots were a bit more but the quality was excellent. I am sure I will be back as I gain more confidence in being a plant mom!

Otherwise, our experience was overwhelmingly subpar for the investment. We asked for a simple front yard landscaping revamp. There were more misses than wins with the overall delivery: 1) Design proposal took longer than quoted (no big deal, I know they're busy), and was missing a key part we originally asked for (and got an "oops sorry, here's a haphazard fix"). Design still lacked some our accessory asks, but we decided to disregard those anyway. I feel as though our vision wasn't heard and believe me, I am an over-communicator. Maybe budget was an unspoken obstacle? But if so, it should have been communicated - we were flexible! 2) The install day was never scheduled, and the install team showed up unannounced without designer oversight as promised. Luckily I was able to arrange to stay home for the install. 3) We were charged for new plants, that we didn't receive. Instead they "transplanted" our dead plants that looked awful (these were the reason we were investing in new landscaping altogether). 4) Old random foliage and plants were left in our landscape (likely with intention, because they planted the new around them which threw off spacing). 5) Some plants did not take and remained weed-y, even with frequent and appropriate watering. When addressed, we were told we were not watering enough... doubt it, but ok. See photos. I'm shocked they thought this was acceptable, and didn't ask how to handle if there was question at the time of install. We ended up needing to replant about half of the overall work ourselves. Old plant concerns were remedied on our invoice, and follow-up communication was prompt from the designer at least. Won't re-engage.
