I've been putting off getting my ears pierced for several years but have been wanting to add a bit more "feminine energy" to my look so here I am! My friend Ang "recommended" this brand because they work for the company & helped this location get started when they opened last year. I made an online booking just a couple of days before walking in, as they suggest doing so even though they do take walk-ins. I arrived a little bit before my scheduled time, and eventually was able to get pierced 10 mins earlier. My piercer was Brittany and she was super helpful and professional! I've gotten several hours-long tattoos before AND managed tough menstrual cramps so I assume I have good pain tolerance, but you never know with a new type of pain. Britt suggested I still use the two pink/purple stress balls to grip during the quick procedure. I can now say it's definitely much easier to deal with than the constant pain of tattooing. Like other reviewers have said, the aftercare kit is cute with the neon green pouch, compact guide & next appointment date, and stickers. The saline solution is an additional $12 and if you have the budget for it, a pillow to sleep with during healing for $25 extra - I opted not to get that. Amanda is a gem! And let me tell you, she is quick. My services were done lightening fast and with incredibly minimal pain. The space itself is super small. The front of the shop can fit mayyyybe four people, not counting whoever is working there. The entrance is all earrings and pricing while you get taken to a back room for the needles. There's a usual dentist type vibe with a chair, hooks for your bags or coats, clean tools etc. If you go in on a day that's slow or even book during certain days, you'll get a little discount, which I definitely recommend, especially if you want multiple professional body modifications. Studs is only ear piercing. They can curate what you want your ear to look like, but I will say they aren't huge on the upsell which is fantastic. I just needed two of my four closed piercings repierced. Well they told me that one of my old piercings was actually not closed. They charged me a jewelry change fee for that ear instead of a full piercing fee. Amanda basically used a taper and surgical lube to push the piercing big enough to accommodate the earring. She also asked if I wanted the other closed piercings redone. I had her use the taper on those to see if either of them were also still open, but no dice. She did end up repiercing my right ear. You get a little punch card and some info on care when you're done. read more

I came here during my lunch to get some studs for my new piercing, but they were closed for lunch as well, go figure! I came back another day in the evening and my studs! They're super cute, small, long, and insert through the back of the ear. You can buy individual earrings start at about $30-$170 each or the price doubled for a pair. The staff is so helpful and kind, answering all the questions, and even offering to help insert them for a fee of around $15. I bought a pair for 80 and put the earrings in myself. They also do piercings here. The place is small, but super chic and modern; Definitely a place for the gals! Each earring comes in a cute pouch with stickers and rhinestones. You should make an appointment if you want to get your ears pierced or have the earrings inserted. read more

I was able to schedule our appointment online and complete all paperwork prior to our appointment. Aside from validating my driver's license and picking out earrings, we had no prep at the store. They got us in almost immediately at our scheduled appointment time. Matt took SUCH good care of my girl and made her feel so.comfortable. She got to pick from an amazing set of earrings for her "starters" and even got to pick two different earrings - a lightning bolt and a dagger. They pierced her ears one at a time with a hollow needle and she barely even felt it. As a parent, I was impressed with the cleanliness and safety guidelines used to protect the clients. I had a great piercing experience with Tara at Studs in the Domain. I'm a novice when it comes to piercings and this was my first piercing by needle and the first on a spot other than the lobe. I got a stacked lobe and forward helix. Tara explained the process and was gentle, fast and painless. So painless that several days later I'm still pain free and have forgotten it's there. Two friends were with me and also got pierced by Tara (5 piercings between the 3 of us) and we are all very happy! Tara was also great at guiding us through what would look best and work best based on our ear anatomy, so, while we walked in with an idea of what we wanted, she really helped to guide us to what would be most feasible for our ear shape. Had a great experience getting my ears pierced for the first time ever! Overall, a smooth and pleasant process, maybe a tad pricey. I highly recommend making a reservation as they can get booked up especially on the weekends. Keep in mind they only pierce 18 and older. You can book a 20-minute slot online for one or two piercings. They recommend arriving 15 minutes prior so you can sign a waiver and check out the jewelry options. I went with a friend for moral support, although we were not allowed to be with each other during the actual piercing. We arrived early to sign and take a look at their titanium and 14K gold options (gold was obviously more expensive) which you can preview online. They have some cute options ranging from super simple studs to different shapes and designs including small hearts, stars, and even a cute martini glass and snakes. As advertised online, one piercing is $35 and two is $50. This does not include the cost of the jewelry themselves. I got two piercings of the $100 14K gold option and with the $9 saline spray, the total came out to about $275. Tip is also separate - they have their staff's QR codes for Venmo. Kelsea did an awesome job with making me feel comfortable, providing me with a squishy to squeeze, and communicating very clearly when she was piercing ("no surprises!"). The location is very small so they limit capacity if it starts getting a bit crowded. Located in the Domain, I recommend parking in the Blue garage for the shortest walk. read more

love this place! i've been pierced here on three different occasions to get six different piercings. i know--i need to slow down! all of my piercings have healed nicely. the jewelry lasts and stays shiny and if you follow the piercers' advice, you'll be fine. i have had bad piercing experiences in the past at places that use piercing guns so the needle method is my preference and happens to be what studs specializes in. last time i went, matt pierced me and he was very warm and easy to chat with. before that i was pierced by kelsey and tara, who each were so kind as well. thanks to them all, i now have a cute ear stack i'm working on :) read more

To reply to the owner reply- Absolutely. This however doesn't change the fact that the wrong type of jewelry was used causing the healing time to increase exponentially. This place is basically a grown up Claire's. I got two lobe piercings. The piercer was SO insanely rough on my ears that I was majorly bruised and sore for weeks. I understand that this can happen and is common but I've had many piercings over the years and have never, ever bruised. My piercer told me, "just a warning I pierce fast and hard," and they did. At the time it seemed nice to get it over with so quickly but I think it did more harm that good for me. Their starter jewelry selection is abysmal and I saw the exact same stud selection on Amazon (evil eye, lightning bolt, etc. literally exactly the same). The posts on these are way too short for starter piercings (which honestly makes me think they're from Amazon) and don't leave any room for swelling or proper cleaning. The thing that gets me is the price. I got two cartridge piercings from True Blue the week before and it was a full $50 cheaper with better jewelry, better experience, and a more knowledgeable piercer. I love this place! Being a north austin local I stopped by their shop a few times and followed them on insta and finally decided to get my double piercing on sept 24th. Booking an appt online is a breeze. I arrived and the atmosphere was so welcoming and exciting! I loved how special they made me feel like I wasn't just another customer. When it came time to pierce my doubles I got Mia, she is AMAZING. She was so kind and talked me thru the whole process and made everything so painless and quick! She provided so much insight on after care and encouraged me to reach out with any questions. The initial piercing was barely painful and after I didn't feel a thing. Healing has been a good experience too! My 2nd experience at this shop was just last Saturday November the 4th. Shame on me I was so late but the staff was so sweet and did their best to squeeze me in within that same hour! The next piercer I got was Tara and OMG she is great too! I loved how she made the process so quick and distracted me with lots of pleasant chatter! I can tell she's so passionate about what she does and brought so much confidence to me. It was a Tuesday evening and I thought the shop was packed only to find out everyone there was an employee (all 6 or 7 people). Even though I like to play it safe, what was the worst thing that could happen. They assured me that the manager would be watching and giving directions the whole time. I guess we really aren't their target demographic. Our 15 year old son wanted to get his ears pierced and we live close to the Domain, so we drove over. They immediately told us he was too young - they don't do piercings for under 18, which I find baffling -- babies get their ears pierced! And both of his parents were with him! -- but rules are rules, so we were out. We ended up at a Piercing Pagoda kiosk at Lakeline Mall instead, and it was perfect. The people were 100% friendlier and very kind to our somewhat nervous teen, we were in and out within 15 minutes, and he couldn't be happier with his new bling. They had a great selection of earrings and I'm pretty sure we paid at least 100 bucks less than we would have at Studs. Studs might be great for someone older who's more of a piercing pro - more concerned with details like needle vs. gun, etc., and less concerned about price. If you just need a simple first-time piercing, though, and aren't too hung up on the details, I'd stick with the classics. It was a bummer that we couldn't use this place, but no regrets.
