They are extremely knowledgeable and clear about the framing process and how best to show off your piece. This is not like dropping off your art at Michael's, to be delivered into the hands of a clueless 20 year-old who will have nothing to do with the framing once they ship it off. Mingo has exceeded my expectations on the pieces my husband and I have brought in, and done it at a fair price. Their creativity and skill made even a simple poster I've had since college look like it should be hanging in a much nicer house. : ) As mentioned, their gallery shows are top-notch and openings are always warm and fun. Great little spot for art in Beverly.

They are clearly passionate about what they do and it comes through in the excellent recommendations they make. Every single time I go to pick something up I feel giddy knowing the framing will elevate my work, and the quality consistently exceeds my expectations. I am a photographer and have come to Katherine with a handful of unusual requests or even questions or ideas that I wasn't sure how to execute; she always take the time to talk about options, and guides me to the perfect solution. As a small business owner and artist myself I also appreciate the role they play in supporting local art through their gallery. It's a pleasure and honor doing business with them!

She needed an output for her creativity so I was searching everywhere for the right one. After talking with one of the moms from my daughter's school she recommended the Acorn Gallery, saying her son takes a class there and it was a great place. After just the first class I could already tell this was the place we've been looking for! There's a safe environment with caring teachers that lets the children express themselves. The children make oil paintings that I am thoroughly impressed with; they are well beyond what you would expect for that age group! The location is so convenient, its just in downtown Marblehead, a five minute drive away. The teachers as I said before are so caring and all of them, Debra, Jack, and Lexie, encourage the children's creativity and teach them so much. I would recommend the program for any child, teenager, and even adult. Acorn Gallery is truly a one-of-a-kind experience.

Tickets are $15 for adults and $8 for kids (ages 6-12). You can either buy your tickets while waiting in line using a QR code or at the counter once you go inside. They do not allow photos or recording while walking through the gallery - the staff even states that they are watching on the surveillance cameras for anyone pulling out their phones. We enjoyed walking through each section and reading about each horror character and the fun facts about the movies or TV shows they were from. I really liked that the characters actually looked like the people and not some knock-off wax museum. Some of my favorites were the wall of actor face molds and the slasher room. I also like that you can walk through each room and area at your own pace and I never once felt rushed by the other people or staff. They have a small gift shop with t-shirts and other items you can buy. You are allowed to take photos inside of the gift shop. This is a must if you are a horror fan!

We arrived at about 5pm and they closed at 6pm but we had plenty of time to enjoy. Give yourself about 30 minutes. They ask that you not take photos inside to not spoil the surprise for others. This is not scary and I think most won't have an issue walking through here. 5 stars for being dog friendly because how many indoor places like this can you bring your pet. 4 stars for being kind of short but the price is pretty fair so I'm not mad.

The woman that assisted us was super thorough and helpful. She gave us tips and recommendations and explained everything perfectly, she even saved my daughter's piece when she "ruined" it (she needs a promotion lol). We tried the clay painting & there was a wide variety of ready made pottery pieces to choose from. I chose a mermaid mug, my daughter chose a cute character mug and my son chose a cute trophy vase/mug? There were tons of paint colors to choose from as well as all the painting accessories (brushes, stencils, sponges, etc). We were reminded that we can't take the pieces home right away since they'll have to go in the kiln but they'll call/text in 7-10 days for pickup. The studio was very clean, organized and spacious. It was also very affordable, they charge $5 per person for the first hour and then $2.50 each additional hour per person and you just buy the ceramic pieces that range from $20 and up. Highly recommend for a fun time with family and friends.

Definitely going back !
