After working a brief stint as a gallery director, I know first hand how poorly other school prepare you for the "real world." The only two submission packages which I received, in the three months with TemporaryGallery, that showed any sense of professionalism were from MCAers (they will remain nameless, as they both are very humble and get rosy over compliments). But I don't only have to compare the school to others to note why I love it: Scott Hadfield, Barbara Moody, Luara Tonelli, Marjorie Augenbraum, and the list goes on. Small class sizes and great teachers make this school. Every teacher gives a new a fresh perspective, none jaded by the years of professing. OH I CAN'T FORGET LEN! Len is amazing

She was enrolled in a week of theater and multiple weeks of art instruction with a wide array of art classes to choose from. With an artshow each Friday, we enjoyed the opportunity to see the the kids amazing artwork on display. We ended up with multiple frame-worthy pieces, one of which the clerk at the frame shop said she'd never have guessed was created by a 6 year old, it was that good. My daughter had a great time, the staff was fantastic, they offered before and after care which was critical for us working full time and we were incredibly pleased by the overall experience. We re-enrolled for February vacation, are planning for summer camp, and see ourselves as lasting patrons for the years to come.

After that I figured we would stick to different art centers.

She needed an output for her creativity so I was searching everywhere for the right one. After talking with one of the moms from my daughter's school she recommended the Acorn Gallery, saying her son takes a class there and it was a great place. After just the first class I could already tell this was the place we've been looking for! There's a safe environment with caring teachers that lets the children express themselves. The children make oil paintings that I am thoroughly impressed with; they are well beyond what you would expect for that age group! The location is so convenient, its just in downtown Marblehead, a five minute drive away. The teachers as I said before are so caring and all of them, Debra, Jack, and Lexie, encourage the children's creativity and teach them so much. I would recommend the program for any child, teenager, and even adult. Acorn Gallery is truly a one-of-a-kind experience.

Darcy and my mother go to high chair art every Tuesday. I don't know which one of them gets more out of it. Darcy is learning and developing her fine motor and listening skills. My mom is learning about new artists and bonding with her granddaughter. Its great! Every Tuesday night my mom, husband and I have an auction and bid on who gets to keep Darcy's amazing art form that week. Last weekend the studio had a little workshop. My husband and I got to check it out and see what happens when we are at work. It was so wonderful to see Darcy light up when we arrived. And next month they are hosting a silhouette artist. This is a keepsake I always dreamed of having if i ever had a child. What a wonderful jewel in the community. We are so lucky to have this. I highly recommend kidcasso if you have a little one in your life. The arts are so important. How wonderful to have something affordable and accessible in our community!

I bring my 4 year old and 2 year old during school closures to their Art Sense class. It is…read moreperfect, because they both can be there together. They both really enjoy the class and my 4 year old always ask when we can go to the next art class. The class is 45 minutes long, but I would say the first 10-15 minutes is free play where they set up a few art inspired stations for the kids to explore, approximately 20 minutes of more structured art class, then 10 minutes for clean up and story time. The -1 comes from two things... 1 - It can be costly to do drop in classes for both kids. It is $35/kid, though they do give a 20% sibling discount, so it is $63/2 kids, plus the $2 service from the site vs. $100/month/kid which would be equivalent to approximately $25/class. It is a way more affordable to enroll monthly but they do not offer Art Sense classes over the weekend so it is not really supportive of kids that attend school during the week. It would be nice if they had an option to buy X amount of classes upfront at the $25/rate that could be used amongst multiple children. We've tried other art classes in neighboring towns and I would say Kidcasso is probably at the higher price point. 2 - This only happened once but there was one class where the teacher did not show the end product upfront for the kids. I am not sure if this was intentional to allow creative freedom but for one of my kids that appreciates a bit more structure to build confidence, I could tell she was more cautious and waiting to see what other kids were doing or asking me for some guidance. The other times when she knew what the end goal was she was more confident creating her artwork and leverage her creative freedom to still create something that was hers. For my other child, she did not care because she doesn't follow rules/directions anyways. It didn't impact the experience for my children, but it was something that was noticeable for one of my children in how they approached that specific art class.

I myself grow more exuberant by the day at the growing slate of opportunities to secure work in our chosen field of endeavor right here in New England. You are receiving this notice b/c you have indicated a strong interest to me in attending the Free Actor's training workshop that is being offered at "A Quest Actor's Studio" by it's founder, Ms. Debra Crosby, on Tuesday, April 7th at 7pm. As your friend and fellow craftsperson, I can personally attest to the quality of her instruction/guidance and the effectiveness of her methods. I have attended her intro. class myself and have come away the richer for it. Feel free to review her website for a list of her qualifications; you'll find a wealth of information there. I've experienced firsthand the value of the techniques and exercises that are freely shared during her introductory session - no hard sell techniques are applied during or after the class. For any one of us that are serious about honing our skills in the craft of acting for film, stage and/or commercial work, this valuable and insightful instruction is a product that tends to sell itself. Obviously Ms. Crosby seeks to grow her student enrollment for her weekly classes; this, however, is a novel & generous way for her to offer substantive "test drives" to each of us as prospective regular students. I'm sure that the instructor/facilitator would be happy to s/w you about future enrollment after the free introductory class is completed - that's your for you to decide. Please reply to this message promptly to confirm that you intend to be a part of this great road trip to Salem, MA together with your fellow talented & aspiring New Hampshire actors this Tuesday evening. I am coordinating the carpooling; and I will need a reliable & accurate student headcount to relay to the instructor. I do hope you can and will make it to this class - I think you'll discover value and inspiration there as a performing artist. I know I did. Be well, be kind, do good work. ~ ERE
