I LOVE this place!!! I am a working mom who is very lucky to have my mother watching my 18mo old daughter. I am always looking for things they can do together. Darcy and my mother go to high chair art every Tuesday. I don't know which one of them gets more out of it. Darcy is learning and developing her fine motor and listening skills. My mom is learning about new artists and bonding with her granddaughter. Its great! Every Tuesday night my mom, husband and I have an auction and bid on who gets to keep Darcy's amazing art form that week. Last weekend the studio had a little workshop. My husband and I got to check it out and see what happens when we are at work. It was so wonderful to see Darcy light up when we arrived. And next month they are hosting a silhouette artist. This is a keepsake I always dreamed of having if i ever had a child. What a wonderful jewel in the community. We are so lucky to have this. I highly recommend kidcasso if you have a little one in your life. The arts are so important. How wonderful to have something affordable and accessible in our community! read more

I bring my 4 year old and 2 year old during school closures to their Art Sense class. It is perfect, because they both can be there together. They both really enjoy the class and my 4 year old always ask when we can go to the next art class. The class is 45 minutes long, but I would say the first 10-15 minutes is free play where they set up a few art inspired stations for the kids to explore, approximately 20 minutes of more structured art class, then 10 minutes for clean up and story time. The -1 comes from two things... 1 - It can be costly to do drop in classes for both kids. It is $35/kid, though they do give a 20% sibling discount, so it is $63/2 kids, plus the $2 service from the site vs. $100/month/kid which would be equivalent to approximately $25/class. It is a way more affordable to enroll monthly but they do not offer Art Sense classes over the weekend so it is not really supportive of kids that attend school during the week. It would be nice if they had an option to buy X amount of classes upfront at the $25/rate that could be used amongst multiple children. We've tried other art classes in neighboring towns and I would say Kidcasso is probably at the higher price point. 2 - This only happened once but there was one class where the teacher did not show the end product upfront for the kids. I am not sure if this was intentional to allow creative freedom but for one of my kids that appreciates a bit more structure to build confidence, I could tell she was more cautious and waiting to see what other kids were doing or asking me for some guidance. The other times when she knew what the end goal was she was more confident creating her artwork and leverage her creative freedom to still create something that was hers. For my other child, she did not care because she doesn't follow rules/directions anyways. It didn't impact the experience for my children, but it was something that was noticeable for one of my children in how they approached that specific art class. read more

My 2 grandsons, ages 8 & 5, have taken classes with Miss Kelsey in Wakefield. The first ever class they attended, they drew Van Gogh's Haystacks. We were amazed at the end results. Both boys have their drawings proudly displayed on a shelf in their bedrooms. Since then, they have thoroughly enjoyed the class and eagerly look forward to the next visit. read more

This review is for the Andover location. I could not have been happier with the birthday party we had for our 6 year old daughter at Kidcasso. From the moment we showed up, the staff was super helpful in setting up for us. Once the event started they took care of everything and were really great at keeping the kids engaged and interested. It was such a nice relaxing smooth process, highly recommended! read more

We love it here at the WEST NEWTON location because of Christine Silva - she's THE best - kind, patient and inspiring. My daughter loves art even more than her because of her! read more

We visited for the first time this evening for a Friday night pizza party and my 5-year old kid loved it. We were early and had a chance to check out the cute cozy space and to chat with Katrina, who was lovely. Even on this cold evening, there were 10 kids attending of a wide age range which I think is great. The snow globe activity turned out great, too. It paired nicely with dinner at Public Kitchen down the street. We live 30 minutes away but we'd do it again (my kid asked if he could do it again). read more

Kidcasso Art Studio - Art Schools Near Me - Wakefield, Massachusetts

As much as I want to give this place 5 Stars because the thought & concept is THE BEST.. I just cant do it. I attended a Birthday Party here a few weeks ago & this review is strictly based on THAT PARTY! The place was packed when we arrived as we were attending a twins birthday that had LOTS of people. The girls there hosting were trying to be great but just werent coming across as genuine. Clearly they didnt have children and it was showing all too often. Their patience level wasnt there and they kept expecting things that just were not going to happen from this room of kids (should I preface this with that most of the room was kids under 4 - I know they say the age is 7 and above & maybe that would be a better thing to know ahead of time - but I guess I was invited I showed up, I didnt know the preface) But I have a 2 year old who was painting the table, the chairs, anything in his reach in addition to having spilled the water 2-3 times & was just making an all out mess and I am not the parent to just walk away & say Oh Well, so I was sticking around trying to help out & at MANY instances the girls kept asking all the parents (there were soo many of us and maybe that was part of the problem - again I was only invited & knew no one else there as this was a co workers Childrens birthday.) but they kept asking the parents to leave the room and could the parents of the older childen have left the room, ABSOLUTELY - did they?! NO... But I felt I needed to run interference between my child & EVERYTHING In the room... But I was continually given the Ugly Side Eye with the "get out of the way face" Well sorry my son just painted pizza and you allowed him to eat it, Sorry Not Sorry!!! So this place seems like the BEST Idea and I would def go back if they had a free paint session and maybe just take my 7 year old, because I like the concept & the place was super stocked with stuff... Also my gf who threw the party told me on SEVERAL Occassions she informed the location what style of painting she had specifically requested & that was never taken care of & we ended up painting the theme she DID NOT WANT. So all in all, concept great, but this location didnt make me a Huge fan! read more

I can't say enough about Laura-Marie and the entire Kidcasso team. The studio is fun, warm, and welcoming and the teachers take their role as art educators very seriously. Kidcasso projects and activities go well beyond the "craft"-style projects too often seen in art studios. Their educators have extensive knowledge of child development and treat each child as the young artist that they are, addressing each students' unique needs in a respectful, kind manner. As a business owner Laura-Marie is incredibly dedicated and passionate, and this is demonstrated by her commitment to educational excellence, her promptness when addressing questions and concerns, and her involvement with the local community and beyond. As a studio for young artists, Kidcasso's level of expertise is unmatched. read more

What a cute little place! The owner, Laura Marie, has a fun, enthusiastic energy. My sister and I just went to their Adult Class, Pinot with Pablo, tonight. Basically, wine, and painting. Everyone gets a brush, some paint, a little easel and a glass of wine. What more do you need to start the weekend off right? We will definitely be there next time! read more

I cannot say enough good things about Kidcasso! I have taken my children to special events, birthday parties and art classes at Kidcasso since 2012 and have been continually impressed with the level of creativity and fun that goes into every aspect of each class and party. Laura Marie, Emily and the whole Kidcasso team are amazing teachers who are able to draw out the artist in everyone! read more

My 5 year old son has been attending classes at Kidcasso for 6 months now - I can't begin to describe how much we LOVE this studio, the owner, and the teachers! My little artist has been able to express himself through art and watching his confidence grow has been nothing short of amazing! Most kids hate when the weekend is over but not him, he can't wait for Mondays because that's "Art Day!" Kidcasso is a safe, fun space where little minds are able to create and explore art their way. We just recently attended their Art & Pizza night - it was $20 for a Friday night drop off session - they were fed pizza and were able to meet other kiddos and get creative. He had an absolute blast and can't wait for the next one! Highly, highly recommend this studio for your little artist(s)! read more

Kidcasso Art Studio has been a godsend to our family for four years. Laura-Marie Small offers so many classes covering subjects that children truly enjoy....I can only speak on behalf of my 6 and 8 year old boys but they look forward to and ask to continue their studio time each session. I've organized two girls night outs at the Pablo with Picasso nights Kidcasso offers for adults and both were a huge success. Laura-Marie and her staff are caring, thoughtful, creative people that teach the concepts of art the way they should be taught...as an exploration. read more

Highly recommended....My 5 year old daughter just went to the pizza party on Friday. It was a super night. Unbelievable price of $20 and you can feed your child and drop them off for 2 hours. My husband and I enjoyed a nice dinner at Caryn's while she was crafting. She had a wonderful time. The chaos that usually comes with a ton of 5 year old was just not there. Teachers had everything under control. She has been to only a few drop in classes there, but staff remembered her. We also have been to birthday parties at Kidcasso. I feel they had the right mix of free play and planned activities. The wonderful thing about the owner is that she completely cares about the kids, the services she provides, and community. She will do just about anything to make sure everyone is happy. I actually don't want to talk to too many people about these pizza parties, I am afraid they will get to popular!! read more

Not your typical arts and crafts class at all! QUALITY instruction, materials and lessons that are fun. This studio gets rave reviews from parents all over town! read more

Such a great place for kids to go and learn about art and art history. The semester long classes work so well.

We were introduced to Kidcasso when my daughter was invited to a preschool birthday party here. I was very impressed how well run the party was and even my high energy child sat and was engaged with the continually evolving project. We had such a good experience that 8 months later, I signed my daughter up for summer art classes. She is 3, going on 4 this fall, and LOVES her class. The teacher is sweet, patient, and excellent with young kids. The class includes sensory play(ex. a play lemonade stand, obleck, bladeless safety sissors and colored paper, etc - each week it's different), a new art project or two each week, story time with a book related to theme of the week, etc. Since the class rotates between different activities the kids don't get bored and have opportunities to move around. The art the kids create is really cool! They use all different sorts of mediums(more than we would ever have at home), and the kids are so proud of themselves when they are done. We travel about 20-25 min to attend class and it's worth it. I plan to sign my one year old up for the highchair class once my daughter goes back to school in the fall(though I plan to enroll her in the fall classes for her age as well). Highly highly recommended. read more
