Einstein's Workshop is a creative kid's dream. It's basically an indoor play area, filled with creative type toys, as well as a computer room where every kid plays, you guessed it, Minecraft. - There are lego tables, tables for Kinex toys, others whose names I forget. Two ramps for testing out lego car creations. A 3D printer, printing stuff. Neat room. Off to the side are other classrooms or private rooms for parties. The kids mainly hung out in the main room working on legos, and others stayed on Minecraft for the whole time. - My one caveat was that it's very boy-oriented stuff. The girls we took didn't find much interest in legos or Minecraft. So, they weren't that thrilled to be there. - There is a 3D scanner in an adjacent building; you can have your body scanned and turned into a 3-D sand sculpture. Creepy/cool! - read more

Outstanding - great staff, great offerings. Signed my nephew up for a week-long Lego/robotics class (for grades 4 to 8). Was concerned that it might be too advanced for him (he's just going into 4th grade this fall). The instructor (Sarah - she's terrific) assured me he'd do great. And she was right - he loved it. At the end of the week I asked him to rate his experience on a scale of 1 to 10. His answer - 'infinity!' Next up - I'll be signing him up for a Mindcraft/into to electronics class. Einstein's Workshop is one of those places that every parent wishes they discovered ages ago. A clean, friendly, educational environment where kids are free to roam? Yes, such a place exists! We brought the kids (ages 2.5 and 5) here before to play during drop-in hours, and they loved it so much that we decided to have my daughter's birthday party here. Turned out to be a great decision. For $199, we had the place to ourselves, two friendly employees helping out with toys, setup, cleanup, etc., and full use of all their supplies. Magnatiles, Legos, K'nex, blocks...you name it, they've got it. Oh, and they gave my daughter a t-shirt too! The kids had a blast! We would definitely have another party here, especially in the winter when parking is tough in the city. They have all sorts of classes for older kids too, so this is a place we can come back to for years. read more

When we first visited, I thought we'd only stay a little bit to check out the Lego wedo system and then come back again later. Instead my 5 year old decided to play at most of tables in the play space (Legos, Zome, Kinex, etc etc). My 2 year old built his first Lego sculpture and my husband looked into Zome and bought a math book associated with it. Einstein's workshop offers a bunch of classes, camps, and drop in's (free under 3). We ended up signing our son up for the Lego Wedo class, and a week long summer program. He had so much fun-- it was a little intense and he's a bit young but he really thrived and learned a lot. We'll be back for more classes and drop in's. There are so many classes offered that it can be a bit overwhelming (but in a good way). We haven't even moved beyond Lego! There's also a laser cutter, 3d printer, a microscope attached to the computer to check out bugs... not to mention all the mindteasers and games available! They sell some snacks and coffee to help fuel parents when they find themselves unable to leave. There's also a shopping area packed with interesting things. read more

Einstein's Workshop is an awesome place for kids and adults who love science and technology. They offer classes in robotics, programming, Minecraft, laser cutting, 3D printing, electronics, and invention. This includes vacation classes, too. They often run one-time workshops on Saturdays and host FIRST LEGO League competitions. They also have this amazing drop-in space. For $12, you and your child get to play with vast piles of LEGOs, K'nex, Zome, Anker Blocks, Kapla Blocks, Snap Circuits, magnetic blocks, etc. If there's not a class running in the computer lab, kids can go in and play Minecraft on the local server. For $18/if your kid is 8 or older, you can drop them off there for up to two hours. There's a toddler area with Duplos and puzzles, and a bookshelf full of puzzles and boardgames. For adults, you can rent the laser cutter for $2/minute and create all sorts of stuff. I've seen people make tea strainer holders, dollhouses, dioramas, jewelry, and Escher-style puzzles. read more

We visited here this past weekend. We came with our 3 year old. The place is a bit hidden so make sure to keep an eye out while driving. After signing in we were given the tour of the floor. My first impression was that this place is better suited for kids ages 6+. Our son did like the magna tiles & watching the 3d printer in action. Other than that he wanted to play with toys that we already own. I think we will give this place another go in a few years. read more

This is a great place for encouraging math and science skills in a fun and sociable setting! My son could easily play with Legos, kinex, or snap circuits at home, but coming here on occasion adds a nice social dimension to it. So far we've just done drop-ins, but they have some really interesting classes as well that we may look into. Plus, they let kids in for free the week of Halloween if they wore their costume. At first glance you may be asking "what's all the hype about" but that's the thing about this wonderful place. Einsteins is simply a great makers space for kids. The kids that really enjoy this place are intelligent, thoughtful creators - not your local "mall kids." This space really showcases the geek is cool generation. I highly recommend all of the classes. Moms and Dads (or caregiver) can wait with younger kids (for free) in the game area while waiting or hop over to the many shopping areas nearby while their young Einsteins are learning. The staff is incredible. The owner has given me many multiple sibling discounts and gave my daughter and her friend from Florida a free session where they could design and take home laser cut wooden items for free. I brought my 3 and 6 year old daughters here for a two hour drop in. Pros: great open space. Loved looking on at what other people were working on. Loved building on to what others had left. Staff was very friendly--two young ladies were on the floor and were willing to let my girls operate the "do not touch" ferris wheel" and merry go round. They were constantly helping to keep things organized and manageable. Lots of great hands on toys and enough of them to go around--and some good illustrated idea books for each material. Quiet enough even with a lot going on. Felt safe to let my 3 yr old wander from one side to the other. Bathrooms were fine. gift shop was good if you didnt know where else to get this stuff. No real cons, but the wow factor wasn't there for me and here's why. neither of my children is obsessed with or highly informed about any of these materials. They both happily played with stuff. My 6 yr old mostly built and decorated a LEGO car with her dad, and my 3 yr old spent a while with magnatiles, blocks, and then rolling around a LEGO wheel she put together. But neither of them left inspired. Yes, that may be my fault ( I stink at directions and did start checking my watch after an hour of building). But, I think, at least for younger children, there needs to be some stuff they can do with what they made or just do without making something. For example, once you make a LEGO car there is no ramp or road or track. It would have been so cool for my three year old to just test out a car on a ramp or something--since she cant totally make one. I'd love for her to see things in action. There were some inspiring creations around the room, but they were all "DO NOT TOUCH" creations. What about some simple creations kids can touch and get inspired from--marble runs or ping pong shoots or ramps or pulleys. LEGO robotics set up to try. A place to sketch an idea or some visuals on the walls of other sketched ideas. start to finish examples. There was nothing wrong with the place and we did have a very nice time. Our son had a Minecraft Birthday Party at Einstein's Workshop. We had 12 guests and the cost was $390, not including cake, decorations, pizza, favors, etc. The party was for two hours. 90 minutes playing Minecraft and 30 minutes in the party room. Two young technical guys were in charge of the party. I was told the party would begin right at noon, and that I could tell guests to arrive early as too take full advantage of the 90 minutes of Minecraft playing we were paying for. At or after 12:00 one of the guys began turning on computer monitors for the party. I got nervous at 12:05 because I thought the party should have already started. I asked the guy if I could call the kids and we could start the party. He said I could, but then the system wasn't working and there was no "shared world" as there should have been.. At 12:15 they fixed the system, and it was smooth sailing from there. I was SO nervous when all of this was going on. I was afraid that we had invited all of these kids, 10 different adults driving to Burlington to drop them off, and they wouldn't actually get to play Minecraft. Its stupid when you put it in perspective, but during those minutes I grew gray hair! Also, I knew I was paying $390 for a party, and that 15 minutes was worth $50 dollars. Why didn't they have all the computers turned on and working at 11:30? I found this disrespectful of the amount we were spending for the party. Outside of this problem, I would say that the young men who ran our party were excellent. We've had parties at a lot of places, and we've never had party organizers work as hard as they did at Einsteins Workshop. They dealt with 12 boys and girls asking constant questions about Minecraft and computers, they served pizza, cake, water. They cleaned up everything, packed it for us to leave. It is nice open space with lots of stimulating "brainy" activities but was personally disappointed to find that activities were sparse for my two year old. Just some blocks and puzzles which we have at home. Did not feel that it was worth it for a child as young as mine (we paid $12 even though it says under 3 is free. The receptionist explained that at least $12 has to be collected per family). So I paid thinkin we will just check it out. Yeah, not worth it and kind of felt misled about the admission fee. But I think if you have older children it might be worth it. read more

Great place for kids without bells and whistles at a reasonable price. They have so much more beyond Lego blocks if your kid likes to build. Lot of options. They provide great classes as well but a little pricey. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Great place for kids all age - specially in snow/rainy days. They have a parking lot as well. read more

Stopped by for the first time for drop in play with my 6-year old. We could have easily spent the better part of a day. Great selection of quality learning toys and a very helpful and friendly staff. We then decided to enroll our son for a week of summer camp and he's loving it. He's a tough critic and he's giving it a consistent "9 out of 10." Both the morning and afternoon classes have been engaging and fun and the instructors are great with the kids. We love the option to add on extended care/supervised free play at the end of the day. My 8 year old son has taken a Mindcraft class and the Blink, Beep, Whir: Fun with Electronics class. He LOVES it! This place is amazing! The teachers are great and it's a very creative, fun place that will get your kids hooked on Science! We moved to the East Coast from Cupertino CA. They have lots of places like this in CA but we have yet to find one like this on the East Coast. Very unique and my child loves it. He has asked to try the Mindstorm class as well. Our kid is not the biggest lego builder - he much prefers the "guys" in the set. He is super creative and often his ideas are bigger than his ability at age 7. He comes from a tech family and has very high expectations of himself which means he can be super self-critical. When he struggled on the first day of the Scratch Programming Summer Camp, he came home and he quietly stated that wanted to do half-day only (Minecraft in the morning was a blast!). BUT - the staff at Einstein was quick to pick up on this and had reached out to me with their observations earlier that day and within two days, had him begging to do Scratch again for the second week of camp. Which he did. And loved. We were thrilled and very impressed. He programmed his own game for both sessions and was very proud to demo them for the family. These guys are incredibly good with kids of all inclinations and levels - they make learning fun and engaging in a safe and patient environment. They totally get it. read more
