I went to Marie twice and I love my hair both times I went there. Before I came to her I went to other stylist but never really loved how my hair turned out. The first time I went to her I got my hair ashy blonde balayage ombre and I loved it. So I came for my second visit last Friday and got it lightened for my second session. It is on the pricey side but it's an investment. You get what you paid for. As for the hair cut I think it's too pricey for $65 around $40-50 is more reasonable. But then I love my hair cut from her. I went to Marie almost a week ago and still can't find the words to describe how much you need to go to her!!! Marie's skill set, knowledge, passion for good healthy hair, and desire to make sure her clients are satisfied is like nothing I've ever experienced. I loved our consultation. She is a great listener, gives expert advice, and worked with me to decide on a great look. We decided to go with a bayalage with baby lights to cover my grays. This review has been long overdue! I've had a few things done to my hair. My first appointment through Marie was for balayage ombre, base, and also long layered haircut. It looked so amazing after. I have very dark brown hair and she was able to give me a wonderful look without any of those brassy orange tones! I went to Marie the second time around. I wanted to change up my hair a bit and went for a Dusty Rose Gold color. I showed Marie a picture of the rose gold that I wanted and she made it happen. I couldn't be happier with my color. It was on point. Marie also gave me a great, flattering cut with movement and really took her time to make sure she didn't cut off more length than I was comfortable with. I have been going to Marie for years now. Prior to her, I was on a constant lookout for a hair stylist that I could dedicate myself to. After several stylists, I found Marie and I am so thankful to have her in my life! You best believe when Marie says she's good at what she does, she is good at what she does. She knows what she wants, she knows what she doesn't want, she knows what she's doing. That is all you need to know. Found her through Yelp and I was immediately drawn to her work because everything looks great. This is my first time dyeing my hair a "non-natural"/creative color and I had to find someone who will do it right! I'm glad I found Marie. She took her time on my hair, she didn't let me just leave with mediocre results, she's sort of a perfectionist, which I appreciate because I am a bit of a perfectionist myself. She will take care of you and listen to you. Plus, it matters to me that she's so easy to talk to, she's real, and she's just pleasant to be around! I had followed her work for a while and saw her grow as an artist and saw her techniques change over time. Based on her posts and the satisfaction of her clients, I tried to save up so I could get my hair done by her. She held this IG contest and I was the chosen winner! I had not done anything to my hair in roughly two years. I had long black hair, giving Marie the perfect canvas for her to get really creative. She showed me a color scheme and an idea of what she wanted to do. I gave her the okay and the journey had begun! Marie is a wonderful person and very down to earth. She's easy to talk to, making the whole process go faster and more enjoyable. She made sure I was taken care of, offering beverages and whatnot throughout the time I was there. The process it self was quite lengthy, given that she had to lighten black hair. She cut it, gave me a Rihanna Red base and lighten the bottom half of my hair for much brighter reds. I didn't think my hair was going to lift much, but Marie was able lighten it with grace and ease, not damaging my hair, because she specializes in Asian hair, which is typically harder to work with. Marie is one of my favorite hair stylist.. once you sit in her chair, she focuses on you and your hair. Her balayage ombres and highlighting techniques are out of this world, you come out of the salon feeling totally transformed. 1. I hear a lot of stylist where you have to make 3 months of booking in advance. No way I will wait that long. Marie is easy to book and very accommodating. She will work a 12 hr schedule just to fit you in her book. Once she finishes your hair, you just want to go out and buy a whole new outfit to match your new hairstyle. 2. The first time she lightened my hair, she was very honest and said my hair was very stubborn and hard to lift, so she immediately told me that one session will not lighten my hair to what i wanted. i was really sad that i couldn't go blonde. But, Marie gave me the most gorgeous gradual transition from dark to a honey brown sombre. it was PERFECT!!! Now that i'm getting my second session... she just blew my mind again! She got me to an ashy blonde i wanted and threw in some tint of Silver/lavender for dimension. Completely mind-blown of what she can do with a simple stroke of her highlighting brush. I like how she explains every product she put onto my hair, what she was doing and what it does to your hair. She taught me how to manage my hair and recommends what hair products to use. Marie is wonderful! She really pays attention to both (A) what you want for your hair and (B) what's feasible and what looks good on you. Having NEVER been blonde before, I decided to give the balayage a try but was really worried about whether or not that was even the right look for me/my hair. Plus, I had been coloring my hair black for so long that it was going to be quite difficult. Marie took on my crazy project/idea, and gave a few suggestions to make my hair even better than the picture I showed her. I've gone from having boring black hair to a fabulous balayage! Since I'm a blonde newbie, I freaked out when I first washed my hair and ends broke off.
