For starters, I've been going to an amazing hair cutter for years, but she moved, and so I was in hair cutter limbo trying to find one I could bond with again. A haircutter saloon stylist should listen to what the client wants, and to make suggestion if warranted and to do what she asked for. Seems logical and obvious, right? Well apparently I was asking for too much... So here I chanced going to the Industrial salon, a mediocre looking place tucked inside a shopping area. Not special. But prices as if it was a better than it clearly is as a hair salon. The Yelp reviews, which I will NEVER rely on again, were high. Google reviews are known for being more honest compared to Yelp. Marial was the hairdresser I went to. I assumed they paid for their little spots. It was the *worst* experience I've had getting my hair cut - ever! I regret giving her a tip even though the price was expensive. ($85 for a crap haircut!) Here is the short version: 1. My hair was long - all down my back. 2. I showed her photos on my Pinterest of photos of hairstyles I liked. Mostly were for long gray hair (I have long gray hair). I said my hair is wavy and because it was long it wasn't as wavy. Cutting a bit shorter and some layers will 3. Told her I wanted 3 inches cut (she cut at least 7 inches perhaps more leaving my hair to barely touch the shoulders from it going all down my back. OMG! 4. I mentioned I NEVER blow dry my hair and I NEVER curl it or iron it. Grey hair is fragile because it has no melanin and it breaks easily. I have naturally wavy hair, and it is full and not thin. Color me confused, but that kind of information is important when cutting one's hair. If I said I don't iron, curl or blow dry my hair I would think she would cater my hair to my needs. I mean, like duh?! 5. I told her I needed some deep conditioning. The result? She cut about 7 inches off, so it now barely touches my shoulders! She blew it dry and curled it. Hello?! Did I NOT say I would never do this? Why would you do something I would never do myself? She did not do any deep conditioning other than a detangle. Like I normally go under the lamps and let it sit for a few minutes. I asked if she did this on and she said yes. Not really, it was some stuff that was a quick detangler. I looked like sh*t for a crap haircut where she was clearly in La La Land cutting my hair and gave me something I never asked for!!!! Not only that it was awful the way she styled it. YUCK! Not only that, she comes off as a bit snotty too. She cut my hair quickly, as if she wanted to finish and move on to the next customer. If you can't freaking listen to the customer, then find another vocation. Imagine organizing file tags in a room with no windows. Again, the WORST hair cut I've had. I was so shocked by her actions and awful-looking cut, that I didn't say anything to her. When I got home, I cried because I didn't want to confront her, and now I regret not speaking up. I deeply regret giving the tip! If you go to the salon (and IMO why pay that much when you can get a better cut elsewhere for much less?) Do not use her. read more
