    Soft and hard shell tacos
    Janna C.

New tacos spot in the area with good pollo and carne asada soft tacos that won't disappoint! The ground beef hard shell taco was also great. I loved the tortillas they used for both styles of taco. They are similarly priced to a taco truck but have a nice, clean brick and mortar with a good amount of seating. With a variety of unique salsas at varying heat levels, the kind staff insisted we try them all. My favorite was the lighter green (almost creamy?) one with a little kick. There was plenty of parking in the lot. I would gladly come back here!

    asada burrito and loaded fries.

My gf and i are very happy we came across this spot. I had the asada burrito and my lady had loaded fries. The burrito was bomb and the fries were forsure loaded. highly recommend.

Tacos are to LA as Peanut Better is to jelly. I raced to try this place that only recently opened up and I'm here to tell you they're as tasty as I thought they'd be. I had the taco combo with three queso birria tacos and I was very happy with the way they came out. The meat was super tender and juicy, and everyone here was super nice. It's not everyday I get to see history made, but I'm hoping this is one legacy on its way to immortality. Cheers!

Delicious!!! I got a burrito, my friend got the 3 taco combo, and we got chips and guacamole to share. The food came out quickly and it was a great portion size for the price. The restaurant was clean and the staff were very kind. There's also a little plaza parking lot which was great. Can't wait to come back!

    Hard shell chicken taco -tasty.

A brand new spot. We need more hard shell tacos (and Birria) in this part of town. The hard shell chicken taco was tasty. The chicken is not shredded, but came in small pieces. The flavor was very good. Also good was the Carne Asada, soft taco. In addition, I ordered the Birria Taco Combo with rice & beans. It came with a small bowl of consume. The Birria meat in the taco was fine. The rice & beans were pretty standard and the consume was a bit thin and not as flavorful as I had hoped, but that's just me. There is no Birria in the consume, just small bits of fat. Next time in, I will try one of the burritos and tortas. There is no salsa bar, but they have a hot red salsa and a spicy green salsa, both are good. The service is friendly, the space is clean and the tables are comfortable. Overall, I enjoyed my visits. I will definitely be back.

Food was BOMB! I'm very biased when it comes to mexican food but this place is legit. Owner was super cool, food was served quick. I was surprised how fast they brought out the food. I got a carne asada burrito, super bomb and a hard shell birria taco and my god GAS! Highly recommend if you're in Studio city and in the SFV. Worth the drive. I'll definitely be back. Vibes were good too, place is extremely clean and modern. Comfortable for a dine in experience.

Love their adorable and eye-catching logo outside!

Finally, a Mexican restaurant in the neighborhood! It's one of my favorite cuisines to enjoy and now I get to enjoy it at the convenience of a 3 minute walk from home. I've been waiting for this place to open for a few months now when I learned about Pizza Guy's closure and got the chance to try it today with my son, a week after their grand opening. They just opened on December 2nd. The place is very welcoming and brightly lit, not to mention the good energy beaming from Stella and Aren behind the counter and the chefs in the back working hard to provide us with some delicious food. Speaking of food, everything was truly fantastic. I got a 3-taco combo plate (2 asada, 1 chicken) and it came with rice/beans, some radish slices and a lime wedge. I was so hungry today since I hadn't eaten anything substantial, so I ended up ordering a carne asada burrito after I finished my tacos. It came with rice, beans, cheese, pico de gallo, onions, and cilantro. The meats were all succulent and tender, tortillas were properly grilled and everything was seasoned appropriately. The food was so filling, yet light - not greasy, nor salty! The side of guac ($6) was a substantial portion for a side order and Stella was kind enough to throw in some chips on the house. The tortillas were also very fresh and not salty, just how I like them. There are 2 salsas that come with the meal, both of which were very flavorful and delicious. The red was spicier and smokier than the green, which was more vibrant and acidic. The place was spotless clean and they have a bathroom for customers, although I didn't need to use it this time around. There is ample parking in the plaza along with 6 tables for indoor seating. It was pretty busy this evening, along with to-go orders going out. I'm so happy to see such a great spot doing so well in its first week of business! I will DEFINITELY be back VERY soon to try different things on their menu! Keep up the great work, guys!

Let me start by saying. Yummy. First time coming here and started with an amazing greet from the cashier at the front. Her customer skills are amazing. Food. Ordered 3 carne asada tacos(small decent size) and was glad to also get salsa and limes. Honestly yummy Yummy. Tacos are great tasting. Meat tastes fresh, their red salsa amazing. Would definitely recommend and come here again. (PS- so you can remember me ,cashier asked me for my scent and asked if it was Carolina Herrera. Told her it was an arabian perfume.) Look forward to coming again. My only regret was not getting more tacos. Price is decent too$2 .99 each. Lunch, here we come.

Home made sauces! Chipotle, red and chili oil!

I am blown away! I came to this spot on their first day of opening so I figured they may have some kinks to work out and I couldn't have been more wrong! As a taco lover who has lived in LA for over 27 years I know my tacos and these were GREAT! One of the owners also wanted me to try their in house made sauces. The 3 I tried (red, chili oil, & chipotle) were all so good! The chipotle one has me feeling like soon they will be serving breakfast burritos because it would pair so perfectly! I will definitely be returning to this spot especially w how nice the owners are!

Carne Asada Studio Nachos, the best I've had living in The Valley in 13 years! They actually have two types of cheese too!!
    Deborah S.

I ordered the Studio Nachos and the Carne Asada Torta, they were both so delicious, I ordered via Uber Eats and it was so good I had to call and give them props. I spoke to the owner Stella, she was so friendly and appreciative. I will definitely order again!

I came here for dinner on a week night and my experience here was pretty good. I had the asada and al pastor tacos with all the toppings and they were both so good and full of meat and heat. The toppings can be spicy for some, so be warned. My favorite of the two was the all pastor which was flavorful and I did like the thinly shaved meat. It was not dry at all and was fresh. I also tried the mulita with al pastor meat and that was also soso good. Cheesy, meaty, and indulgent. The additional topping section had good variety with pickled onions, cucumbers, etc. and everything seemed pretty fresh. Unfortunately, they were pretty much out of the roasted pepper and grilled onions at the time I went. To drink, I had the horchata and that was also very delicious. It was huge, sweet, and creamy. I also loved how it was not grainy at all. A good pairing with the rich foods. They also have a good amount of seating at the stand with a long table and multiple chairs. Having been to so many taco stands, I think what makes Tire Shop Taqueria really stand out are the right-off-the-grill charcoal-grilled meats, the freshly made tortillas literally in front of you as you are waiting on line, and the free guacamole that comes with each taco. The ordering process is like any other taco stand, though one difference is here the salsas/guacamole are all handled by the staff. If you'd like more of something, just ask them instead of reaching for the ladle yourself. There is a separate area though for grilled onions/peppers and radishes you can serve yourself. I got the asada, chorizo, cabeza, and al pastor, and they were all so good. The asada and chorizo are specifically grilled over charcoal, and that flavor really shines through. I loved how meaty and tender the cabeza was too, and the classic al pastor hit the spot. They have large communal tables setup, so it is a great friendly vibe to enjoy your meal I will say, the surrounding area is not the best in LA, especially given how the taco stand is only open at night. The parking lot is quite small, so I parked on a side street that had some abandoned cars, but of course, if you are in/from LA, this is not that new for us. I would hesitate if I am a tourist though to make it out here. Anyhow, the food really is worth it here, and I can't wait to be back!

We found easy street parking in the neighborhood on 41st Street, and waited in line for about 15-20 minutes. We ordered the asada tacos. They pre-sauce your tacos, which was fine by me, but my boyfriend who can't handle as much spice would've preferred it on the side (so warning for anyone similar! they do put a little habanero on them, so just ask them for salsa on the side). I think I ran into a problem of reading too many raving reviews -- these tacos were good but I was expecting them to be mind blowing, so I was a little disappointed. I tasted the charcoal char, but kind of wished the taste was more pronounced, or at least the meat more seasoned. The hand made tortillas were definitely the coolest part, but I thought they were a little dry too. The ladies whipping those out are artists though. Actually, all the workers here have the assembly line down to the tea, and they definitely add a little flare for a show. I particularly liked how they had a lot of seating at this location, instead of just a couple stools lying around like most taco trucks. It felt more like outdoor patio seating than a normal taco stand. They could probably take more time to wipe down tables more often though. Overall would visit again if in the area, but wouldn't go out of my way for the tacos here.

Another standout was the Scallop Aguachile. The portion of scallops was surprisingly generous, and the bright, tart sauce complemented the sweetness of the scallops perfectly. Easily one of the best aguachiles I've had. My fiancé ordered the seafood soup, and it was just as impressive. It was loaded with fish and shellfish, making it feel well worth the price. Yes, the line was long, but it was absolutely worth the wait. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, constantly clearing finished plates and checking in to see if we needed anything else. Everything came out to about $26 which is super reasonable! Service on a later end of the night was great! Super friendly and quick service. No indoor dining was available since they were closing in 15 mins. Food was ready in less than 10 mins. Salsa is free which both were delicious and had great flavor. Overall the food was delicious! It hit the spot. Filled with meat and the tortillas were a hit on their own. I would definitely go back again and try the other items that they had to offer.

Driving by I always see a line and read an article recently that Sonoratown is officially…read morerecognized in the California Michelin Guide - makes sense! I like that they were open late to satisfy a late night taco craving. Even though there is typically a line they are quite efficient with orders and even have a parking lot/outdoor dining space in addition to their indoor space so it doesn't feel cramped. It was my first visit so I had to get a mix of their tacos and burritos with the various meats they serve. It was a nice fact to know their tortillas have some lard also so it adds a nice flavor as well. + Burrito 2.0 (asada) + Chivichanga (chicken and beef) + Tacos (chorizo, tripe, cabeza, asada) I enjoyed the burrito with asada and thought it was good portion size for the cost. The guac, cheese, and beans pair well with the meat and has a nice grill on the tortilla. The tacos were a solid size as well but I was surprised to find the tripe as my favorite because they fry it and it adds a nice crunch/texture change. The cabeza was a close second with the stewed flavors. The chivichangas were also tasty but not the traditional chimichanga I was anticipating. It's definitely on the softer side as everything mixes together and there's not much of a texture change. Worth trying if you are curious though. I ordered to go so I didn't see if they have a salsa bar but I did have to pay $.10 per to go container which would be nice if they were free. However, I liked mixing their red and green salsa with each bite. I am curious to try their avocado salsa next time. Overall, I thought the portion sizes were good for the prices and I felt full afterwards.
