I was in search for a lymphatic facial massage as my face often gets puffy and found lifted beauty and wellness online. When I initially booked the appointment it was for a total of 45 minutes for 170$. An hour before my appt time I receive an email saying that the appointment has been moved 20 minutes later and was shortened to a 25 minute appointment at the same cost. The facility is clean and very nice in the middle of madrona area. My skin was not prepped nor cleansed and product was applied directly to the skin without any prep. During the treatment the esthetician left midway to answer a phone call and kept mentioning another service they provide- a skin focused facial that would answer all of my skin needs, not the concern I was visiting the spa for. My appointment had started at 10:20 (time I walked into the building to check in) and at around 10:55 the aesthetician said we were done and I should get dressed. I received my receipt via email at 11:09. Post appointment, I didn't feel like the usual "de-puff" feeling I get when I get a lymphatic facial massage with other spas. I received a discount of 20% for being a new client (check their Yelp page) and was asked if I wanted to schedule the suggested skincare treatment. When you book online, it brings you to the Uma Clinic booking which is fine, but the booking was a bit confusing. It turns out that although the Groupon specials are booked in hour increments, each "session" is actually only 15-20 minutes. So you should typically be done with your 5 sessions in two separate hour appointments. When I walked in, I noticed the spa had a very distinct vibe. I would say it is kind of eclectic and antique like with a lot of wood. Just a personal preference, but not my style. On the phone I was told there was a consultation before, but I did not receive one. We did not talk about prep, aftercare or cadence, which would've been nice to know. After my first appointment I found out the girl used a pretty mild setting. I would've appreciated if we could talk about the different level and settings during the process. She was friendly and nice though. Overall, I probably won't be returning here. I didn't really notice any difference and the overall experience and ambiance was just kind of meh.

The ultrasonic cavitation is almost completely pain free as she moves the wand around. The sound waves sorta sounds like a metal slinky in your ear. It did not hurt at all, just a low hum of noise. After contacting them to ask about a service, Debora reached out to me telling me it would be X price for a certain number of treatments. I was interested in moving forward and started setting up a consultation. While I was making the consultation, a separate email came a couple days later, also from Debra, responding to my inquiry with a completely different price (almost 50% more expensive!). I tried to clarify that I would be willing to pay the first price, but not the second one, and asked if that was ok. This is when things got weird - when I brought up the two separate quotes, instead of apologizing Debra got defensive and refused to answer which price she would actually charge. She said I would just have to wait and see about the price until I came in for the consultation. Her responses seemed very rude and condescending to me. For example, when I asked why the price changed she responded "Our promotions change from month to month and quotes can be valid for two weeks". Since it was still less than a week since I was sent the first price, I tried asking whether the first price would still be valid if I came and paid for it within two weeks. But she refused to answer - I asked directly "could the price be different depending on whether I come in before the 2 week period?" and "is there still a possibility of getting the first price if the consultation goes well, or are you only offering the second price now?" She flat out refused to answer these questions and just said I would need to come in to find out (without any clarity on whether I should come in within the two weeks.) As someone with a busy schedule, I don't want to come in for an appointment if she is no longer considering the originally quoted price. Why waste everyone's time? Obviously things can change during the consult, but no other medispa has ever had an issue discussing their specials and base prices with me. I found this entire exchange super frustrating and I don't understand Debra's motivations unless she is trying to pressure me into paying more than I'm willing to, or just intentionally being rude and defensive about her mistake of sending two separate prices. I feel that she has wasted my time by telling me different things and making this simple discussion needlessly complicated. I can't imagine what she would be like to deal with if an actual issue came up! NuMe has offered the same service at the lower price quoted from Debra, so I will be going there.
