I have been getting my eyelashes done here for several years. Gabby does a fantastic job. Very caring, gentle does not pluck out my lashes. She is super, super careful when doing a fill. She also does brow lamination facials and waxing. 10/10 highly recommend her. I love the new salon. The chairs are super comfortable, especially the wash chairs. It's a must-try. Kayla is amazing! If you are thinking about trying a completely different look, you can trust her to deliver. I had super long hair, which I no longer had time to style or take care of after my son was born. So, I decided to go for a lob and get rid of 10 inches or so. At first, I was a bit nervous, but Kayla took a cautious approach and trimmed it gradually. She'd take a couple inches off and asked how I felt, until we reached the desired length. I loved the results! The way she layered it is beautiful and makes it really easy to style. Then, it was time to fix the patchy multicolor mess that resulted from too many at-home coloring sessions due to COVID. Kayla did an outstanding job of evening out the tone, and blending in beautiful highlights throughout. This is the very first time I've been happy with my highlights on the first session! I ended up not going to Shelby anymore for a few reason. The number one reason was that every time I came in and it was time to remove grow out she just about plucked them out like she was plucking eyebrows, it was SO painful and I am seriously traumatized to this day. Another reason was that my appointments only lasted 30mins, that may sounds good but I needed loosing half of my lashes within the week because it was so poorly done. I went to this salon two different times. The first time my hair turned out amazing, however I noticed areas of missed color every time I would blow dry my hair. I gave the hairdresser the benefit of the doubt and figured the next time she would see her mistake and fix it. I was wrong. The second time was even worse, I was charged more than the first time with no explanation, and I also had to wait 10 minutes for my appointment to begin because she was talking in the back with the other gals that worked there (I could see her from where I sat in the waiting room). I was in town for a wedding, and DESPERATELY needed my dead ends cut off - it had been about a year and a half since my last trim (awful, I know). My mom recommended Studio North and I ended up with an appointment, and met Julia for my cut. Julia was gentle and easy to work with, and made suggestions that ultimately helped me look my best for the wedding. Those dead ends are long gone and my hair feels a zillion times healthier. 100% would return to see Julia and the Studio North team. I've been getting my lashes done at this salon for almost a year and a half now consistently and I haven't even thought about switching esthetician's. I've had the same reoccurring issue with this place. When I try to reach out to ask them to fix the problem they act very snotty about it. I paid $90 for a lash fill and majority of my lashes fell out within days after. So glad I'll never be going back here. Seriously. It's a rip off. I had to contact them a couple different times to get back in to have them fix my lashes, which is an inconvenience to me and my scheduling. After it happened a few times I just decided to go somewhere else. Their lash work is just plain out not good and quality is terrible. Sorry not sorry. read more

I found it strange that the person who did my hair did not engage in any conversation what so ever or try to get to know me as a new client. I even told her I was looking to change salons. When I tried to engage in conversations I got short answers back. It was a very awkward time in the chair with a uncomfortable silence. Ciara literally SAVED my hair. I had gone to my usual salon asking to go back to my natural, dirty blonde color. Long story short, I lifted red, then we tried to correct that and I ended up leaving with very very dark brown hair and in what felt like a crisis!!!! I was frantically calling different salons to see if they could get me in and the owner and Ciara graciously found an opening for me the next morning. Dawneece did a colossally bad job on my extensions. For what they cost, they should have been perfect. Instead, you can clearly see where my real hair ends and the extensions begin, she didnt even blend them or match them to my hair color. Do not recommend. read more

Fabulous! Fabulous! That is all I can say. I first went to have my eyebrows done(waxed) and was really pleased with them so I decided to try making a hair appointment. Awesome job! My hair was originally a brassy honey blonde and is now white platinum and looks amazing! Darci R. did such a fantastic job with matching my hair to the picture that I showed her and was very helpful with deciding the best way to do this style. I got my hair cut and permed here about two months ago and it was okay. The perm isn't quite what I wanted but that's on me because I asked her to use bigger rollers because I was worried it would come out too tight. The haircut was not worth it. I made a consultation appointment first and said that I wanted a short haircut and a perm and then they scheduled me. When I went in to get it done, it was clear that the stylist they had paired me with didn't know she was going to be doing a short haircut and clearly didn't know what she was doing. I don't have a pixie cut but it's very close and I've had them done a lot of places, this is the most expensive and least satisfactory haircut I've gotten. It was clear she didn't know how to do all the little finishing touches that have always been a part of past haircuts for me. Now, two months of growing out later, I'm realizing that whatever she did, while it looked okay at first, wasn't okay. Love! I was in the shopping center to get my nails done and stopped in on a whim to get a cut correction. I didn't think much could be done because how short the layers were and overall length, they worked with me to get me in without an appointment, and with a few skilled snips turned a terrible hair cut into a stylish attractive hairstyle that wasn't even that much shorter.The biggest hassle I had with the previous cut was that even going back to get a free correction would be pointless because of the dated fashion cut and ugly styling but as soon as I sat down I knew I was in the right place. I didn't have to say a lot or describe a lot what I wanted. I finally have a hair cut that I can wear down and not look 20years older or like I should pair the look with shoulder pads. I still miss my long waving sexy beach hair but in a few short months and with the help of Studio North Spa and Salon it will be alright!! Everyone was nice, the place was clean and chic. When I was there all the other customers were repeats and the one customer who came in for what seemed like her second time for lashes was greeted to her surprise, enthusiastically, by the woman who worked with her before. The salon is so nice and the facial/brow wax I got was by far one of the best I've ever had! The esthetician I saw was engaging and did a wonderful job! Will absolutely go back and see her again. Only reason I'm giving 4 starts instead of 5 is because the receptionist seems bored and not interested in her job at all. It was difficult to book my appointment in the first place and then when I checked in for my appointment she came across as uninterested and, again, bored. I have been a client at Toucan for over 6 years and they are by far the BEST salon/spa/tanning place in Spokane. Toucan is very clean and there is always an open bed. The staff welcomes you like family and makes you feel very comfortable with all services. I have extremely sensitive skin and have had reactions from other salons wax, but at Toucan, I have always had a good experience with both waxing and facials. The tanning beds are very clean and inexpensive. Every month they have different specials/packages that include skin care/massage and tanning for one low price. It's a fun upbeat and modern experience, and the staff always has correct answers to your questions about skin care. They also carry Dermalogica, and offer deals on it frequently. Keep their number on speed dial and make sure its your next spa experience. Once in awhile they have pretty cool Botox parties too, with snacks and drinks. They carry quality top of the line tanning lotions as well. I recently moved out of state and miss Toucan terribly! read more
