I've had good, bad and ugly experiences over the years with other salons but Melissa's talent and experience puts this salon at extraordinarily, especially with color, highlights, cuts and styling. She is multitalented and I get to do one stop shopping because she does an exceptional job on my lashes, saving me from going to multiple places. These ladies at this salon are absolutely amazing! I came in the day before my wedding for a blowout with Teri and she did amazing. A few days prior, I got my lashes done at another salon where they did a horrific job, and one of the lash girls (can't remember her name by heart) fit me in super last minute to fix my lashes for me for my big day and they turned out amazing. Two hours before my appointment Melissa texted me that she was too backed up and wanted to reschedule me for the following week. She claimed she had just gotten back from a trip, but she had actually returned two days prior. She had obviously overbooked herself as she did the first time I saw her, which resulted in myself and I am sure multiple other clients being inconvenienced. When I told her I could not reschedule because I had taken the day off to get my hair done she did not reply back, and I did not go to the salon as I assumed my appointment was cancelled. Got my hair dyed red. Cost a bit but once it was done, I was in love. Not only a great haircut but small talk didn't feel forced or uncomfortable and she actually listened when I said only cut off what you need to to layer it and no more (no "but the split ends" or "trust me, I'll make it look good"). I've been a regular client at Stars since my first visit a few years back. My granddaughter told me how much she liked it so I gave it a shot. I won't go anywhere else nor will my granddaughter. After my first cut and color with Mellisa Moe I knew I'd found someone both very special, talented, willing and able to figure out my challenging hair and put up with my idiosyncrasies. I'm so indecisive yet she still somehow figures out what I want and what my hair needs. Sometimes I wonder how she does. She's magic Moe on days I just don't know what I want. My hair looks so much better and is a lot healthier since I see Melissa. She cares about her clients, she wants us to love it, Usually I do, if I don't, I know we will figure it out together and I always love it in the end. I feel beautiful upon departure! They use only the best products there and Melissa is constantly improving her skills. After visiting at least 9 other salons in/around Spokane I am at home at Stars and with Melissa. Stars is clean, artsy and welcoming. I've watched many of her clients hug her on the way out. That speaks loads to me. Her pricing is reasonable too. I agree with the previous review. Cute place that has loads of potential. The owner is NEVER there. How can you be in business and make money if you don't have set hours to accommodate the public. Only the owner can make these changes. Way too much drama and high turnover for staffing. I don't know what happened but months ago after they opened last year the customer service USED to be fantastic when the owner had this older blond lady working there in the afternoon's handling the front desk and cleaning up, making appointments and running errands. The energy in there was high and very pleasant. It made you smile and feel welcome. I would possibly come back as a client if the dynamics were like that again. I've driven by on my way to and from work and never see the place open. How do they stay in business? Too bad this looks to be a failing business. Doesn't make Spokane look like it can hold successful business'. read more
