Well...My recent experience at this salon was not the best. First, the day before my Stylist texted me to come in 30-minutes later than my regular pre-scheduled Friday appointment time, which I agreed to do. Then, I had to wait in the lounge an additional half an hour before she took me back to her chair...No apology was given. She proceeded to trim my hair dry and it took about 10-15 minutes. I was having a $135 facial done and was expecting to get my hair washed and styled afterwards, but my Stylist was already with another client and did not have time to do this. So, I was charged $59 for just an okay "could have been better" trim without shampoo and style. When I expressed my dissatisfaction, I was told that this is what they charge. To say that Myrena at Studio Nooshin transformed my hair is literally an understatement. I came in for a consult with a very short pixie cut that I was growing out to see if there was a possibility of using extensions to make the transition less awkward. To my surprise, she said that she'd be able to do it even with my short hair length, and I put down a deposit to buy the extensions. They were in the following week and I was able to get an appointment right away. She dyed my hair to PERFECTLY match the extensions (I was wanting to go a richer shade of brown) and then with what I can only describe as wizardry used tape extensions to take my hair from a pixie to a gorgeous shoulder length cut. So let me start by telling you - I live in Texas outside of the DFW Area. We relocated from Austin to that area. I'm sure most of you understand how daunting and gut wrenching even the thought of finding a new hair stylist, doctor, etc. I went to this young girl in town and boy I am not sure but she turned my locks brown - so I washed and washed with the cheapest shampoo possible (most inexpensive shampoos will ruin any color put in your hair) - hence the need for purple shampoo on persons with dyed hair. I am a Kerastase Shampoo and Conditioner lady and never need that purple shampoo. I came to Franklin, TN with my husband on business and the look of my hair was bothering me, so while sitting in our hotel room working on our taxes (yeah). I also searched and searched on the internet and I found Studio Nooshin. I met with Myrena - I am in total awe of the color correction she was able to achieve with my doom and gloom hair. Myrena also trimmed my hair. I will definitely be coming back to see her - she is so worth the travel. Myrena is so friendly she is willing to share any of her health tips - which I welcomed. This is the second time I've tried this place (I like to give everyone a couple of shots before leaving a review, since everyone has a bad day sometimes). I am just not a fan. This time, I made an appointment several days in advance. On the scheduled day, I got a call about an hour before my appt, saying my stylist had had a family emergency and had to leave. This would have been ok (after all, life happens!) If it hadn't happened the first time I went there too (last year)! Exact same stylist. Anyway, I said that was fine and agreed to come the following day at 3 PM. I showed up 10 min early for my appt the next day. I wore a mask and called the number on the door, only to be told "you're early!", as if that was a bad thing. The stylist, Lindsey, came to the front and said she was running behind, and that I'd need to go wait in my car until 3:15, when she would call for me. To be fair, she did seem apologetic. But she ended up not calling me until 3:48 PM. So by then, I had been sitting in my car wasting gas (it was 90 degrees outside) for almost an hour. Once I got inside, the stylist first complained about the client before me, and then rushed through my Brazilian Blowout treatment like she had someplace to be. She was literally tugging at my hair violently with the round brush, and kept banging me in the ear with it. Then, when it came time to flat iron, I noticed the iron was only set at 350 degrees. I am not a specialist, and could be wrong about this, but the Brazilian Blowout site clearly specifies the iron should be set at 380-450 degrees in order to properly set the product. This may be why mine didn't last as long the last time. Anyway, the two stars are because my hair does look nice and straight. Who knows how long it will last. But the real issue came at the end, when I went to pay. I had a 15% off coupon I had received from the salon, that I had showed when I arrived. The lady at checkout looked at me suspiciously, like I was trying to cheat her, but went ahead and typed it in. But the price even with the 15% discount (not including tip) came up as $212! I was surprised, and pointed out that the Price List that was sitting right on the checkout desk said Brazilian Blowouts were $150. Her only response was "that's a very old sign. We don't have any straightening treatments under $250." I then pointed out that the price sheet on their web site says a Brazilian Blowout is $200. She had no response to that, just stared at me and waited for me to pay the $212. I did so, annoyed as I was. There was no way for me to leave a tip on the screen where I paid. When I asked about that, she said they only took Venmo, which I don't have (I didn't have any cash on hand). So I had to stand there and download Venmo and link my account before I could leave a tip. Very annoying. Then it turned out the stylist's last name wasn't even the same on Venmo as the name on the card the checkout lady showed me, so she had to come out and confirm that it was even her. All in all, not a great experience. I will not be returning. read more

Not being from TN and just on a visiting trip, I wasn't sure who to call to help. I called several salons before I spoke with Myrena and she was so lovely and comforting. As much as I hate to leave this review for Myrna she's a great woman. But, I went to her a couple times. The first time she did great. Second time ok not great for her high prices and Third time terrible. . I brought my daughters in so she color their hair instead of mine, I was there for support. Well she insisted she get us all in for cut and color. She didn't have enough time. We spent several hours there and she had a client waiting for a while. My daughters hair cut consisted of her just cutting across the bottom and it wasn't even. She wasn't wanting to do what my daughter asked, color wise because she didn't have enough time. I was fine with her only getting them in but, thought okay I guess she has enough time to insist she can do it all. Also she's a very good product seller. Threading. In comparison to anyone nearby (Mall, Walmart, etc.), they are certainly the best. They start by combing the hair and trimming to shape. Then thread and use tweezers to pull any missed hairs. Finally they apply lotion when complete. They don't thin like the place at the mall trying to keep it as full as possible. I've gone a few times but because of the price I had to stop going. They did offer a discount on upper lip once. read more

I'm new to the area, and was struggling to find a great stylist/colorist. The first cut and color I had at another area salon left me with damaged, unruly, and brassy blonde hair. I happened to go to Studio Nooshin for eyebrow threading, and Myrena was in the reception area as I was paying. I ended up in her chair for a consultation, and felt immediately that she truly understood what I wanted and clearly identified all the problems with my hair in its then-current state. I booked a cut, color, highlight, and express keratin treatment with her and counted the days. Myrena took great care in correcting my color, and then applied the keratin. WOW! Is this really my hair? I still cannot believe how beautiful and soft my hair is, and so easy to style. I get compliments every day on my gorgeous hair. I would not recommend this place for hair services. While the owner and receptionist seem nice the hair stylist who saw me seemed very unprofessional, rushed, and did not do a very good job at all on my hair. In fact I am sitting here wishing I had never gone in in the first place. Now I'm out some $ that I could've put to MUCH better use and can't afford to get the mess that was made fixed. In short my extensions are JACKED up. And again, now I can't afford to get them fixed. Guess I'll be attempting a home removal and praying there's not too much damage to my natural hair. read more
