I had a consultation beforehand which I hadn't had before at a salon, because I was considering coloring my hair. Highly recommend to have that consultation. She was awesome and walked me through different ideas for my hair. Due to time (on my part), after the consultation I got a hair cut and scheduled to come back a week later. She was awesome with my hair cut and style. Came back a week later and got a partial Balayage. Claire walked me through the process, and awesome to work with. The hair color came out so great, and I was so excited to find this salon and stylist. Unfortunately, found out a few weeks later she was no longer with the salon, so that was a big bummer. I set up an appointment on the Pinkmulletsalon.com website and went with Alex Howell. What a lovely person. She was so friendly, made me laugh, conversation flowed easily. Just a good person. She listened to what I wanted, gave me recommendations when I asked for a shampoo and conditioner. We cut quite a bit off my hair and I love it! You should give her a try if you are nervous about change. She will make you feel welcome and secure in your decisions. Highly recommend. Got a hair wash and blowout by Daniela and absolutely loved it!!!! Had the best experience.

Went in for a SIMPLE wash and blow dry, my hair was left damp at the roots twice. After telling her my hair was still wet and gets frizzy (hence the need for a professional blowout) there was no body in much of the hair was all i could have given myself a better blow out and had actual dry hair! I walked in with a clear picture of what I wanted.... I am trying to embrace my gray, I walked in with a great amount of gray in my temples, a great color of gray too, they just had to match and chunk in, I told the stylist edgy just like the picture, six times.. I walked out with the my hair dark with the smallest Carmel highlight streaks EVERY, so small I can hardly see them in bright sunlight with a "round brush under granny helmet head Bob" Definitely didn't live up to the name. Giving 2 stars because while I did not receive even close to what I asked for, what I walked out with didn't look horrible. Worth $176 for partial balayage and cut though? Definitely not. Especially not when I specifically wanted a noticeable change. I specifically said that I already liked the light parts in my hair but that I wanted them to be cooler and to add more to look more similar to this picture (attaches) while also adding low lights to add more dimension, similar to the picture. She literally added none. The service was also really awkward. My stylist was nice I guess but we basically sat in silence the entire time. I tried starting conversation multiple times but in the end gave up and just sat in silence. I've been trying to find a salon in the Franklin/Nashville area for awhile now and I suppose my search is going to continue because I won't be coming back here. read more

I absolutely love this place! Abigail is my stylist and truly she is phenomenal at what she does. I'm a blonde and I'm very picky about what I want done with my hair. I moved to Tennessee from Southern California and i've been on the hunt to find that person who can give me exactly what I need in terms of my hair color. I have to say that Abigail mastered it. She created the perfect formula for my hair and... wow! Not only did she master my blonde, she made it even better. It lifted my soul and inspired me to take a whole bunch of pictures. I love her demeanor as well. She is sweet, caring, and truly wants you to have a great experience. She will spend the time she needs to make sure that you are happy. I strongly recommend her for anybody, especially if they're picky about their hair (and especially if you are a blonde!), to go to her. I just moved to the Franklin area and have been looking for a stylist who could do full highlight on my roots and found this salon and talked to Mackenzie on the phone, and she was able to look at my hair that day and told me prices, and gave me her full attention. I extremely recommend her and especially for blonde hair. I couldn't be happier of the outcome and she is very nice. I followed up with her after the first time meeting with her/'consultation' to let her know my previous toner shades/what my hair dresser did before and she knew exactly what to do and had the products. Mackenzie also was able to take me last minute before my bleach and tone appointment since I trim my own hair and butchered it. She fixed it in between her schedule that exact day. When I moved to town---I would drive by this salon and wonder but. figured I would probably not choose to go to a salon with the name mullet incorporated...as I am not a fan of business in the front party in he back haircuts---but out of desperation one weekend i was determined to get my hair cut and don't trust the chains in the malls so I did end up walking in and was pleasantly suprised....they were able to get me in right away and were professional and friendly. It is a cool vibe in there with the stations looking more like a mechanics workshop than a frooo frooo salon.....it is trendy, hip, and cool.... i appreciate that they will take walk= ins. I did get my hair curled here once for an event and they were able to get me in without a scheduled appointment but i did not feel they did much but I still paid a fee like I had an updo---advice -----be specific if you want something special read more

My wife got her hair done here. She got a verbal recommendation from a friend so she was willing to try them out. She asked and was charged for a full highlight. After the highlight she wasn't satisfied but wanted to give it a week or so and a few washes before she said something (we aren't complainers). After the time and washes had passed it still looks like a partial. She called in and spoke to the owner and the owner said, "we don't give refunds." So the shop gave her a partial, charged for a full, and doesn't give "refunds". This is theft as she isn't asking for a full refund or a refund on the work that was done, only for what she was overcharged. I will be sharing with every review site I know. I would hate for this to happen to someone else. read more

Pink Mullet Salon is what I would consider a gem! I love this place. My first time (and every time after) I've worked with Hailey. She's the sweetest and does the BEST blunt cuts. She's always happy to converse too (my fav). She also cuts my boyfriend's hair and she never disappoints. But, another reason I love coming here is because of the wonderful, thoughtful service from Marcus (receptionist). Had my hair done here for the first time this week after finding this salon on Yelp. I was matched up with Kayla as my stylist. Started out fine, I explained I just wanted to keep my hair a single color for the winter. She dyed only my roots which concerned me a little as usually my whole head is dyed. I didn't say anything though which I always, always regret. Last time I do that. Anyways after my hair is washed I can tell immediately my roots are way too dark - almost black. I kind of freak out but she is calm and says we will fix it. I was sick with a cold so all I wanted to do was go home and sleep but I needed it fixed immediately; there was no way I was leaving like that. She lightened the roots and did some kind of a rinse to fix it. The roots are still a little too dark but it looks significantly better. It took three hours and I never got a cut. The fact she fixed it I really appreciate, but I just can't seem to find a hair stylist in Franklin so I'm looking elsewhere next time. She gave me a discount which was very nice. I am semi happy with the fix but I want to go somewhere that doesn't have to fix my messed up hair to begin with.... read more

I've been searching all of Nashville for the right place to get my hair done. After several cuts and colors from a few OK places, I came across a business card for Pink Mullet for a free cut with a color service. I thought I should give it a try since the name sounded promising. I always love a place with more edge, and that's exactly what this place is. I called to make a last minute appointment for my hair, and they were extremely accommodating with my busy schedule. I loved the atmosphere as soon as I walked in the door; they were all super nice and also offered me a drink right away, which made me feel welcome. I went for just a trim and highlights, and couldn't be happier with my stylist, Whitney. I really don't think I've ever been happier with my hair color as I am now, so I will definitely be going back to see her time and time again. I recommend you to try her as well, but I feel like you can't go wrong with any of the stylists here since every customer that was up early for their 9am appointment seemed extremely satisfied. I wish the salon was closer than Franklin, but I didn't mind the drive since the results were what I was looking for and more. Another perk is that if you refer a friend, you and the friend both get $20 off your next visit. I think this is a great way to spread the word about a great business and also get some money off my next hair appointment. My boyfriend recently chose this salon while in town visiting me for a few days. He was leaving to head back home to be in his friend's wedding and needed a cut as his time was limited. I was so embarrassed by his experience, I couldn't believe after the reviews and ratings, he received the worst looking chop job I've ever seen. None of the lines were even, long & short chunks everywhere. He said it was so dark in there he wasn't surprised because he didn't know how she could see to cut. He isn't the type to complain or insist on having anyone make it right, but when he came home and took a look in the mirror he was mortified. His neck and sideburns weren't cleaned up, and once I started looking at it, there wasn't a tinge of "style". He looked like Edward Scissorhands came at him with a blindfold on. I was so shocked by his experience that I regretted him ever considering this place. I wish he would've at least remembered the name of his stylist, because I hope this instance doesn't speak to the ability of the entire staff, but it's sad that his experience has put a bad taste in our mouths for ever returning. read more

Have you ever walked into a Salon and felt like you weren't pretty enough, hip enough, young enough, etc etc to be in there? I sure have! When I lived in New Jersey, I felt like I had to shower, exfoliate, shave, lotion, blow out my hair, and dress in my coolest outfit, just to fit in with the stylists...all to end up with a towel piled on top of my wet head looking like a drowned rat, ugh. When someone told me about Pink Mullet Salon, I immediately thought, "oh yeah, one of those super trendy, super expensive salons" ...but out of desperation, I was willing to give it a try, and I'm so glad I did! The first thing you should know is, if you recommend a friend, you get $20 off your next appt and they get $20. off, amazing! That means, if you recommend three friends, the next time you go to have your hair done, you will have $60 in your 'account' with them! So, I took my husband and 3 year old son, both under my recommendation...three haircuts $27, that's right $27! I know there is a difference in prices depending on which stylist you see, my girl, Sam is $39 for a woman's cut and $24 for a man or child-one in the same, I suppose. (i kid, i kid) Anyway, the atmosphere is cool and laid back. There are definitely super hip, trendy, young, and pretty people here...don't get your hopes too high...but everyone seems so sweet and down to earth, I can't imagine anyone not feeling comfortable. I've always been happy with my service, and more importantly so has my husband - who, in general, finds something wrong with everything! I know several people that get their manes coiffed @ Pink Mullet and I have never heard a complaint! The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because they don't offer everything I want...i.e. The Beach Wave...but I heard it may be coming in January. Go there. Get your hair did. So Whitney has moved on from this place but I got me a new stylist and girls and even guys....she is great. Crystal is just the jam. She did my color and cut and I just looked like a sassy little thang by the end of my session. She really took the time to listen to what I wanted and gave me a new do that took me from blah to ta da! I really felt under the weather all weekend and my hair cut made me feel so much better. I had a great experience! Mikinzi was fabulous! She listened to what I wanted and did just that! My hair looks so healthy and is so happy! And it is even and level, with blonde straight hair that is not what you end up with sometimes. She was helpful with products but not pushy! It was a relaxed atmosphere and fun! I am a super conservative mom and although Pink Mullet is very funky, I didn't feel judged. Mikinzi was precious! I loved chatting with her! Pink Mullet has always been my go to when I'm in town, and now that I live here again I've been able to stick with a stylist. I've never had a bad experience through the years, but Hailey deserves a special shout out. If you're looking for a hair dye wizard, she's your gal.
