This is a well priced theater with a cool opportunity for dine-in. That being said, it lacks the bells and whistles of most other modern theaters. The staff was super friendly and helpful. It should be noted that you only can enter the theater 20 minutes before showtime. Online, it says it's the recommendation but it's more the rule. The recliners aren't fully adjustable via buttons. There's one lever to kick the legs up. You can then push back the upper portion. The seats are more of a mild recline than a full recline. For the price, you can't beat it. However, I would probably go to other theaters in the future so I could have the full comfort experience even if a full menu and servers weren't available. read more

The theator was clean and has a good unique atmosphere inside and out. It appears to employ several local workers. But .......... THE SEATS ARE TERRIBLE! They are not electric, are small, hard, and do not recline enough. Whoever made this decision at corporate should be terminated. Sitting in these seats through a movie is torturous. I gave Studio Movie Grill two stars. The promo wasn't clearly communicated--we thought something was included, but when it came time to pay, the pricing was way off. The manager tried breaking it down, but it didn't add up. The night ended up costing nearly $100, not even counting tickets. Usually, the staff is great, and I've had better visits since. Came here to see a movie with my mom and sister. I will admit, walking in for the first time into the theater we were in, the recliners looked awful. They were ripped up, it was surprising how bad they look. They weren't even electric. Side from that, they were still comfortable. The service here was wonderful. Our waiter took amazing care of us and was very nice. We ordered some margaritas and to my surprise they were fantastic. Especially for the price of $6. We ordered a bunch of food to share and it was all great too. I was impressed ! We ordered the pepperoni hot honey flat bread , hot chicken sandwhich and the chicken question with queso fries. Very clean theater with reclining cushy seats! We went early hoping to get dinner before they turned off the lights but they only let us in 20 mins before the movie started. The theater wasn't too cold which was nice. We got the 2 for $32 and the food was great! Highly recommend the nachos the cheese sauce was so good. I also got the chicken wrap and asked for a side of ranch. I had to ask again for it twice as they didn't bring it. Everyone that ordered their pizza said it was amazing. Then for dessert it was only $5 but why would they serve powered sugar desserts in the dark?! makes no sense but do not get the beignets or the funnel fries, it was alllll over me lol. read more

Ordered four tickets online for a movie at SMG Seminole recently, and unfortunately, all three of my friends had to cancel the day of the movie. So I had to drive over to get my refund and they refused to give me the $2.50 charge per ticket for ordering online. So I lost $10 just because I ordered the tickets online. Then the next time I went to that theater to see a movie the only seat they had left was a rolling office chair that didn't recline and was extremely uncomfortable, especially since it was in the second row and my neck started hurting immediately from having to look up so far at the screen. I frequently visit this location. The service is always amazing and delightful. The food and drink options are always great and well prepared. Just visited on Thanksgiving morning for the matinee of Wicked. I always love the themed menu for new movie releases. They updated the seats of the last year and they are so comfortable and spacious. Still good. The seats can use a refresh and just as an fyi, they are now adding 18% gratuities to your bill automatically. They removed the frozen hot chocolate (why?!?!?) but the food is still remarkably good for a movie theater. I wish the food could be paced better. It just comes out too quickly and apparently they can only space out 15 mins apart. Sometimes the food comes out so quickly, you aren't even done with the previews and your appetizers are already there.. followed by the entree 10 mins later. I really wish they'd offer the opportunity to space out the food out. Another pet peeve -- put water in a big cup so we don't have to keep asking for refills. Last time I went, I asked 3 times to have my water refilled because they kept forgetting to bring it out. Still a solid experience. Love this concept..... we arrived about 30 min before, since unfamiliar with area... our ticket staff suggested we wait at the bar ( only open your theater 20 min before) then the bartender was polite, asked what movie we were waiting for, then let us know when we could go in.....seats were comfortable... the couple beside us was talkative ( not fault of theater, they did announce a couple times on screen to be respectful of your neighbors) food was great we had the "share" and got way to much food... there was a mix up on our pizza and they remade it ( didnt try to give us the wrong version) they offered us free popcorn fir inconvenience....there is an auto 18% fee, but we would of paid that much anyway...great date night! read more

Pros: Comfy seats as always, great service as far as servers being communicative, front staff is accommodating if you made a mistake on tickets and a diverse menu with plenty of deals. The flatbreads are really good and the wings are underrated. Cons: Waiting too long for food, portions have gotten smaller, prices have gone up slightly, and if they mess up your order, prepare to wait another 20-40 minutes before getting your food. I have no doubt that SMG looked bad a few months ago but we went Jan 12, 2025, and the place is immaculate. The comfortable leather reclining seats are BRAND NEW and very clean. The table and cup holder was freshly was washed. (See attached picture of toilet and seats) Now I'm not a fan of the concept. It is very annoying to have waiters, waitresses and bussers walking in front of you and talking during the movie but you have to expect that with this entertainment concept. The staff is extremely friendly, courteous and attentive. I think that it would behoove the management to stick up for itself here. I will tell you we almost didn't go after reading the reviews. How about telling the public that whatever was wrong before - you have taken steps to correct the past issues and invite them back. read more

Update: after revisiting studio movie grill last night, not sure about returning. It was absolutely filthy in the theater. Our seats had popcorn on them. The tables were not even wiped down. The seats are peeling. Cup holders caked with God knows what. We said a prayer and ordered food. It was actually pretty good, I'll given them that much. I really hope the kitchen was not filthy as well. We would consider returning if they make updates to the theater and clean better. read more

This was our first and last time visiting a theater where waiters are constantly talking and walking all around during the movie, very very distracting. Patrons can't read the menu's in the dark so they turn on their phone flashlights. No concessions are available for sale in the lobby forcing everyone to be waited on and be charged 18% tip. The theater looked like I was inside of a spaceship and the seats were super comfortable. It was not too cold nor too hot, it was just perfect. I am not a huge fan of the movie grill concept, but this was pretty good. The servers were discreet, mostly, and we received our popcorn quickly. We did receive our drink after our popcorn, but that is minor compared to the whole experience. The chairs were comfortable, but the leather was cracked in some places. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was they automatically add 18% gratuity on any order. I want to be able to tip on my own. The other was checks were given with about 20 minutes left in the movie and multiple people turned on their phone flashlight so they could see their checks and pay. That disrupted the movie theater experience. I'm not sure how else to do it, but this is not my favorite. All in all it was a good experience and we will be back. read more

This is one of our favorite places! We're big movie people, and we love the service to our seat both before and during the movie! The staff are like ninjas, dressed all in black and they appear at the touch of a button to bring food and drink. We even have a bartender that recognizes us each time and makes us feel welcome and remembered. The chairs recline and are comfy, the place is clean, and it's just the right amount of feeling upscale and casual. The beers are cold, and the food is tasty. Just a note, there is an 18% gratuity automatically added, so be aware of that when your bill arrives. Further, I'd recommend getting on the rewards program for free movie tickets and other goodies. The ticket lady is always wearing a mask, so the first message you are greeted with is, "To me you're primarily a disease vector. Have a nice day." Extremely impolite ... nobody who is a greeter or a host/hostess should ever be masked. The first time I went we were in a nearly empty theater but service was good, they came by without us requesting and took food and drink orders that were promptly delivered and pretty good. The second time I went the theater was maybe 1/4 full and I saw that others were being served by folks that seemed put-upon and surly as if they weren't really into being employees at all. Resentful and lackadaisical came to mind. We were never approached for service even after hitting the request button several times. We ended up watching the movie thirsty and hungry. The upholstery on the chairs is just disgusting, cheap material with the fake leather coming off in huge swathes everywhere the body touches the seat and especially the arms. I had to go to the restroom and it took me five minutes to get all the tiny "leather" flakes off my arms. read more

First time here, and I was impressed on several levels: Staff: the guy up front. the bartender and the in theater servers were all very friendly, polite and professional. My drink was delicious and I had the beignets which were tasty. The menu looked good but I had already eaten dinner, but look forward to returning and trying some. Theater: sound quality/ acoustics were good, picture quality good and seats were super comfortable: wide ( at least for me) and reclining. Bathrooms were clean, as well as the entire theater. They are showing first run movies, as well as offering private events. Will definitely be back! We love this theater and will choose this theater over others. We feel that it is cleaner than other theater and they just had new recliner chairs put in. I have to to say I'm not a fan of the new chair because to actually have your backchair lean back, you have to push it ( my kids were not tall enough/heavy enough to lean back for the back to go back). When you pull the lever, the leg will go up but the back stays stationary unless someone leans on it. Other than that, we love the fact that they serve a full menu during the movies. It's not that bad. It is also not that great. Ticket prices are almost the same as any other movie theater. But at this one you can eat dinner while watching the movie. After the show is over, you'll find yourself asking if it was really necessary to eat while simultaneously watching a show. The food is better than you would expect at a theater but is it as good as the other places you frequently dine at? They mention some chef next to a few of the menu items. If you're thinking that there's an actual chef anywhere near the theater, you'd be mistaken. I got the distinct impression that the guy taking our order frequently murders people. His voice was sing-song nice and seemed to be hiding something sinister beneath. His friendliness seemed so manufactured that you might think you were being pranked. We ordered the pretzel app and our pysco killer server said he highly recommends it. It came, via food runner, literally seconds later. The pretzels, while probably previously frozen, were pretty good. The jalapeño flavored "Queso" they come with absolutely came out of a can. This cheese product would not stick to the pretzels. I ordered a burger and fries. It was OK. The fries were delicious. My girl ordered the Strawberry Avocado salad. She exclaimed how delicious it was immediately. When we got in the car to leave, she mentioned it again and I asked her if she would make a trip here only for a salad and she answered probably not but that it was just way better than she expected at a movie theater. We also ordered the beignets. They were excellent. They were so good that if I could run down and grab an order on Sunday mornings, I occasionally would. Most of the order takers and food runners were cordial. The service is not great, tho. This has less to do with the employees' efforts and a lot more to do with how things are set up. I mentioned earlier that we got our pretzel app super fast. What I didn't mention was that our drinks didn't show up until long after we finished the pretzels. Psyco-server came back to take the rest of our order and we mentioned that we never got our drinks. He smiled and robotically informed us that drinks come from a different station. Neither my girl nor myself have any care about stations and, apparently, an order taker's responsibilities end at taking orders and in no way includes making sure what you ordered makes it to you in any reasonable amount of time. So, pro tip, If you plan on ordering a spicy app, make sure you've already received your beverages before placing that order. Food runners will carry away your empty plates and glasses but ONLY if you ask. And absolutely no one at any time will stop by to ask if everything is satisfactory. There are buttons affixed to the trays. If you do need something, that button will get them to you eventually. Just don't expect anyone working there to seem concerned that your visit is a good one. There is a mandatory 18% gratuity added to all orders. I usually tip 20% or more if the service is above the usual. Here, 18% seems a good enough guarantee that no one will try harder. I did notice that a few of the seats were starting to peel but I wouldn't deduct points for that. The seats recline but they're the manual recliners with no in-between settings. Like most things here, they are not great but are not horrible, either. So here is how it adds up: Theater: same as your favorite movie place but maybe a tiny bit more run-down inside. Food: similar to an Applebee's in price but not quite a good. Service: inefficient and clumsy. But...., you can stuff yourself in the dark while watching a movie. read more

While placing order & delivering food she wouldn't even make eye contact. She was rushy & I could tell she didn't want to be bothered. She was so bothered that when she delivered my popcorn she almost missed the tray. She literally wouldn't even look at me or oh tray. She had to catch it because of how quick she came to sit it down and turn away. She did one of those side arm delivers. Where you don't fully look and reach your arm out to set down so you can hurry up and leave. The popcorn was extremely bland. I didn't eat half of it. My daughter had the cake fries. They were good.
