Luckily, we were able to make a reservation for dinner for the next day! There is an option to go for a la carte or a pre-fixe menu of 4-6 courses. We opted for the 4 course which had a cured haddock, mussel soup with scallop, a stuffed cockerel and dessert. I paid the supplement to upgrade the main to a Hake. Overall, the food was delicious; the ingredients tasted fresh and paired well together but nothing was mind blowing. We did think the mussel soup was a bit too salty. I particularly liked the Hake, which was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside (I had Hake a few days prior and it was on the drier side so was a bit worried) - and particularly enjoyed it more than the cockerel! I also really liked the dessert - there were so many components to a simple looking dessert and everything was so tasty :) Service was just okay. The one thing to note is that they charge a service charge for credit card which isn't clearly stated on the menu anywhere. When we saw it on the bill and asked the waiter, she didn't seem to be fully understand it either but it is what it is

The first 2 courses (halibut and soup) were amazing and refreshing. The main course (my colleagues had cod and rib eyed, not pictured). My brisket was nicely cooked but nothing surprising. I tried the mushrooms on top of my colleague's rib-eye, I enjoyed the mushrooms more than the protein. Quite pricey as stated by other reviews...especially if one doesn't want mixed couse meal.

Once you find that, it's past the graffiti, up the stairs, and through an unmarked-and-nearly-invisible door behind you. Once you get inside, it's a different world. Giant wooden beams support the ceiling, oil lamps provide gently glowing illumination, and Berkeley / San Francisco-grade hipsters weave between the tables, dropping off plates laden with braised mushrooms, mashed potatoes with leeks, and lamb cutlets. I went for the venison, with whipped potatoes and berry compote. The venison was past tender into soft --- good, but not what I was hoping for. My wife got fish, with a salmon-spinach souffle, some fennel, shrimp, fried potatoes, and a good helping of creamy sauce. We started with a soup --- translated for us as "like carrots, but white," which we think was parsnip --- that was creamy and rich, but still nicely light. The house red wine was good --- but the house white was absolutely amazing. You have to try it. The meals were quite good, but didn't manage to be as memorable as the experience;

Clearly I had to move it to the top of my To Eat list and get that one checked off, pronto. So, now that I have sufficiently covered the Kødbyen food territory, I feel qualified to say Nose2Tail is my new favorite. The concept is brilliant (they use free-range grass-fed everything, and don't waste a single organ - clearly I'm a fan), the food is absolutely divine, the selection of wines is fantastic, and the ambiance is extremely hyggelig. I came here on a "date" with one of my closest friends from NY and we both could not shut up about how great the food was, from start to finish. The only drawback is that my jacket smelled like meat fat for about a week afterward. If you come here in winter, do not be tempted to hang yours by the bar where all the convenient hooks are. The entrance to the kitchen is right next to that wall, and trust me, you will regret it (even my perfume wasn't strong enough to destroy the stench). Perfect venue for groups up to 6-8 (they may be able to accommodate more), a date, or girls night out. And as the saying goes: Eat more bacon, have more sex.

I wasn't quite sure what to expect - would the food look weird? Would it taste odd? We dove into ordering - the Bacon with BBQ sauce was addictive, as were the pork cracklings. The meat and cheese board featured things like salami made from chicken liver - it was outstanding. For the entree, I had the pork of the day which was also excellent. We ended with a mousse for dessert. I should also mention that they have an extensive gin and tonics menu that is not to be overlooked. The service was also wonderful - definitely give this place a try if you find yourself in Copenhagen!

Lovely grime-y Euro-comfort food with blues on repeat…read more The decor and atmosphere is certainly blues inspired but run by hipsters. It's grime-y in a charming way but stay away if any grime bothers you. It's dingy on the inside with some nice sidewalk seats, but reeks of old cigarettes either way. Lots of folksjust hanging out for some drinks and people watching. For this they had high chairs and baby friendly. The service is great. They give of the air of not GAF but are actually attentive and charming. Food came or relatively quickly on a Friday night which was good with a hungry child. They were happy to explain things on the menu and even suggested a few things for substitution. Funnily everyone comes into the restaurant, loclas and tourirsts alike, acting confused where to sit or if there's a queue and after a dramatic pause the barkeep tells them to sit wherever and right on. The food was good. The menu looks very basic and doesn't do the food justice. The 3 salads accompanying each meal are listed without description or fanfare. You don't know which ones you'll get. We got four different ones in combination for two entrees. Even the chicken satay we ordered for our little one came with two salad sides. Two out of four were great, the others bland. Each salad is about 1/4 of a cup, fairly small. The sesame seaweed with ginger and heirloom tomato salads rocked. The guacamole (really just smash avocados without seasoning) and cabbage salad (no dressing, plain with two honeyed almonds on top) were uninspiring. We got the Manilla tofu and beef lasagna as the main dishes. The Manilla tofu was cooked just right with great sauce and an ample portion of protein compared to your average Nordic experience. The beef lasagna was decadent. It was more reminiscent of mousaka than lasagna, cheesy, pillowy, creamy, and very thin Al dented pasta. Not a whole lot of meat but very flavorful and filling. The drink list was pretty good. I had a nice primotivo for only 55 Kr. Whole bottles are reasonable finds at good prices. They also serve half bottles I'm carafes. Good brew selection too. Prices were fair for the fare. Much less expensive than many surrounding restaurants. Overall, great spot. Good to hang or eat. Not pretentious but just good enoufh food.

However, the schnitzel was a bit too salty and the tartare was too soft. The radish did however help with the texture a bit. The oyster dish was tiny but worth the delicious bite. It's located near canals, a museum, and several bustling restaurants. It's in the original Noma space, so most customers have high expectations. Atmosphere: The interior is Nordic chic, rustic and elegant. Even though we had a reservation, we were seated at a long table with other guests. At the time we were there, the angle of the sun hit me right in the eyes and I had trouble reading the menu and seeing for a few minutes. Their curtains are sheer, so they didn't help. The captain apologized, and said there was nothing he could do. Service: we were seated and given drinks menus. Everyone around us was served water, given menus and a description of what was available. Finally, a server came by to take our order, apologized for us not having menus nor water. I requested tap water, so I was surprised to be charged 30krone per carafe. Food: Every item shows technical proficiency and attention to detail. We ordered the schnitzel. It came with a small serving of fresh peas, cream, horseradish and a brown butter sauce. It was delicious. I would have liked more horseradish and peas. The sautéed leeks were served with salad greens and hard to cut. They tasted fine, but a sharper knife would have been appreciated; through our meal, no one came by. We also tried the hake. It looked small, but was very filling.
