Well,.... as an uptight English teacher, my attempt to correct a punctuation error from my…read moreprevious review ended up deleting it! I always like to acknowledge businesses who offer a good experience, so here it is written anew: Two of my children attended Divine Dance a few years back. The owner was very pleasant and accommodating to families. She offered flexibility if work or other circumstances required a change to the kid's dance schedule. With my wife working in Houston, I was often the one bringing them to dance at the end of our local school day. If I had a meeting or other obligation, the business would let them attend a different class that week rather than miss all together. I've never forgotten how they went above & beyond to accommodate busy families juggling to get every one where they needed to be. We were quiet pleased with the classes and pricing. They have a 5 1/2 hr. family tuition cap which makes it possible to train in multiple genres without "breaking the bank". Less costly than other studios, but still good instruction. This allowed my kids & other families with multiple children to afford training. The studio exhibited a true love of sharing the art of dance with as many students as possible. My son danced there and I always appreciated them making him feel included by assigning masculine chorography specifically for him. Being a predominately female art form, he was the only boy in his class and the teachers worked with him well. We found the instructors to be kind, nurturing, and knowledgeable. The atmosphere friendly and welcoming! There was a cohesive, supportive feeling amongst patrons. Over all, we have positive memories of our time & money well spent at Divine Dance.

Fairly decent price compared to the other Dance Schools in Pearland. Ms. Lauren, the instructor, was great. For the class to vary in age from 2 to 7 at various levels of skill, she was knowledgeable, understanding, and very kind. The owner, Mrs. Krystal was also very kind and helpful. The only reason I felt the need for 4 stars is due to my lack of knowledge about the competitors. I don't know what other Dance Schools in the area are doing, Divine is good. I can't wait for fall dance for my daughter.

Honestly, not the biggest fan. My children have been to…read moreother gymnastics and dance studios but this one did not impress me by one bit. Gym time isn't that bad probably the only consistent activity where coaches need to be more hands on but give the children so much freedom to run loosely with little direction, yes it's supposed to be fun but I feel like they are missing on one key elemental skill which is coaching verbally in order to maintain order as much as a coach can. The staff loves to be on their phones, yes all the staff (at least when we went) were young teen ladies but what kind of example is that on the young? Oh it's totally ok to be on phones as you are being instructed? ....I think not. What teen doesn't want to go out on Friday nights but once employees commit to a job, it is their responsibility to take on the duties that are expected. Lastly, the dance class. Never in my life have I had my two other children attend a dance class directed by a TV screen, almost identical to little Julian from Big Daddy when he was hopping around while watching the Kangaroo sing-a-long. Dance instructors typically (from my previous experiences) have all children in a pattern, either by the bar or in a circle to see the children's body movements as they are being taught the basics of dance. This would be a lot different if the studio class was dealing with toddlers or young children but when children are at the age to comprehend and act upon the instruction. I am no dance instructor but experiencing dance at different age groups from both my other children and from the little that I remember, children are missing out on such a wonderful experience even if they are not part of the dance team. Perhaps even challenging themselves or simply just practice stretching exercises, parents here are being robbed on what could be a great hobby for these kids to possibly pursue as they get older. Luckily, for us we are no longer members of this gym and dance studio. We are actively looking for something along the lines of my older two have experienced since our youngest child seems to really enjoy gymnastics and dance.

These kind souls (the counselors) went to the trouble of throwing a little party for our daughters, with cake and tiaras (which our daughters love) that light up and say "Happy Birthday." Such an act of thoughtfulness deserves nothing short of a top-notch rating.

We had watched every lion dance group in Houston through Chinese NYE events, openings, etc., all of which were amazing but the skill, the synchronization, the energy, the routines of Soaring Phoenix was the best we've ever seen. Some of my family from California are in lion dancing associations and they too were amazed with their level of performance. Proceeds go towards their philanthropic mission trips that you can see on their webpage - a huge blessing to contribute to. Professional in their service, reliable, fun and high quality. Seriously, they put on a show that our guests can't stop talking about.

Most of our guests are non-Asians so it was nice for them to be a part of the Vietnamese culture. Everyone was raving about the performance and they love interacting with the lion dancers. But luckily it was still dry enough to get a beautiful group picture of all our guests. We will forever cherish these memories! Thank you so much for giving our guests a wonderful time!

A lot of the students were told we would be able to at least get private lessons to offset the difference. All these months later and still not able to get the lessons at this point I wouldn't even want the lessons. If I have to chase after for services already paid for I am definitely not interested and will dissuade users from even considering. Not worth the headache when there are clearly more established and reliable options available.

A couple of guests who were clearly NOT part of the wedding party and he continued to announce the wedding party not noticing that these people were not part of the wedding and the groomsmen were standing at the door waving their arms trying to get them to STOP. When the wedding party was finally ready to be announced he not only read the name wrong (calling Matt, Pat, etc) but the audio started going out so they had to stop in the middle of introductions for 5 MINUTES to fix it. and THEN when he finally restarted he announced the bride and groom by the WRONG NAME!!!! They just stood there while guests tried to tell him to announce Tom and Loren, or bride and groom or just ANYTHING instead of letting them just sit there waiting for their shining moment to first be introduced. After the introductions we had hope that things would pick up, but the DJ just kept letting everyone down. The bride had provided a list of song requests and songs to skip but the DJ continued to play songs the bride had request he NOT play and when she asked him to use the list she DID want he handed her a paper and said "here you circle the songs you want.." even after that he did not play the songs she liked and in fact keep playing the same songs over and over! We were also under the impression this DJ would act as an MC and he showed no enthusiasm, and was so soft spoken guests couldn't even hear what he was saying, he was constantly mumbling into the microphone. In general he seemed not to care about anything and was a complete and total disappointment. I highly recommend brides and grooms skip this DJ and find ANYONE else! In the words of the bride "he's going to ruin any wedding he is a part of".. such a disappointment on such an important day. A complete and total waste of money.
